THE JOSHUA TREE IS A CERTIFIED CLASSIC "U2" Full Album Reaction/Review
U2 are rock icons and have mad some absolute hits, so felt only right that I listen to arguably their Magnus opus "The Joshua Tree" An album that I have had on my list for a while. Finally getting to check out this full body of work was unreal. Bono and the gang were able to create such an iconic sound for the band.

my favourites are “a sort of homecoming” from the unforgettable fire and “ultra violet (light my way)” from achtung baby. i love the free-flowing structure and writing of the former. it’s a very unique song with great production. and “ultra violet” is just so incredibly intoxicating. it’s the great climax to achtung baby in my opinion. “where the streets have no name” is also in the mix though, no doubt.

Good to see a young man appreciate a classic album from u2 and knowledgeable too,if you are going for a deep dive into u2 go for Boy their debut album then War and Achtung Baby another classic

Bono plays the Harmonica. My favourite U2 song is actually from the next album Rattle and Hum and it's All I want is You, a beautiful song that Bono wrote for his wife but i love it because of the ending and the lyrics, if you think With or Without You has a good ending, this song blows it out of the water in my opinion. Yeah this is my favourite U2 album with Achtung Baby a close second.

I really enjoyed your reaction. Now I'm really curious to hear what you think of Achtung Baby. It's another absolute highlight in their career. For Achtung Baby, they had to completely reinvent themselves. Will you react to that album as well?

Great as always Jack! I haven't listened to Joshua Tree in years and this brought everything back. Still no Elbow though buddy? What you doing to me!! Check out The Seldom Seen Kid album, there's some songs you'd recognise for sure, plus it's a brilliant indie album from a brilliant band, still going strong after 30 years.

My favorite U2 song of all time is Until The End of The World. It brings every U2 strength - lyrically, musically, live performance, and Edge on fire.

G'day Jack yep saw U2 in concert in Adelaide with BB King they are legends and their music sounds just as good as it did back in the 80's, pure talent will always be respected. Mate react to The Unforgettable Fire one of the most underrated Albums of all time. Yes the Joshua Tree is brilliant, loved it and I had it on Vinyl along with most of their albums.

As I can tell your Australian, so am I! I actually flew from Melbourne to Las Vegas last year to see U2 at The Sphere, and I went to 2 shows while I was there. Let me tell you that those 2 shows were the BEST concerts I've ever seen in my life! And it will be very hard to beat it. In my opinion, they are the best live act you could possibly see I think the next U2 album you should listen to should be Achtung Baby. It is considered their most "grungy" album. My favourite song from that album is "Until The End Of The World" Ps. Bono plays the harmonica in the studio and live

Makes me happy that you reacted to Exit that way I did. Btw, saw U2 live at the L.A. coliseum front row at the Pop Mart Tour 1997, then 360 tour and the recent Joshua Tree tour, amazing concerts! Last thing, listening to Bullet in the Blue Sky while traveling through El Salvador sure added to my experience.

You MUST react to Achtung Baby after this. One Tree Hill is my favorite U2 song. I think it’s the emotional centerpiece of this album. It’s not showy like some other tracks on the album, but it seeps into your bloodstream after a few listens and rips you apart when you learn what the song is about. This is a great reaction, man. So interesting to see someone react to this masterpiece for the first time. Your response is so authentic.

One Tree Hill from the Point Depot is an outstanding live performance worth checking out. Mother's Of The Disappeared as a Rattle And Hum outtake is another excellent live performance. Seen U2 twenty times with the most recent at The Sphere, where they played every track from Achtung Baby, which is worth a full reaction.

As a fan of 38 years, Ive seen them 13 times. The Joshua Tree is number 2 by a hair to the perfection of Achtung Baby. ZooTV was the most insane and groundbreaking tour of all time. Would be cool instead of doing an album, react to ZooTV Sydney 1993 concert.

I’ve seen them 3 times. The first time was just after 9/11. It was extremely powerful. We truly felt as one. I recall the names of all the victims being reflected across the stage. So emotional . The band has an incredible way of making their audience feel united. Like we can accomplish anything.

Jack I saw them twice and they really were (are?) one of the best live bands of all. They weren't afraid to go beyond the songs and make them mean new things or explore new things harmonically (except for The Edge's guitar solos, ha)

I think U2 are so overhated to the highest degree. Yes, their recent albums aren’t great, and that whole deal with Apple was not good. However, that Apple issue was so long ago, and the music they made before then is more than deserving of appreciation.

Great review, Jack! Seconding this comment from @aarongroom3558. _One Tree Hill_ is a favourite live. 🎸 Though it's perfectly placed on the studio album, too, following the trickle-out of the rollicking _Trip Through Your Wires_ and before the darker tones of _Exit._ It's other-worldly. ✨️ English singer Kirsty MacColl set the running order for the album on the night before its deadline for completion. The band told her to put _Where the Streets Have No Name_ first and _Mothers of the Disappeared_ last, with the rest sequenced any way she liked. RIP Kirsty. RIP Greg.
