There are some very good commentaries on the book of genesis, but this one by Gordon J. Wenham is outstanding. It's my 1st choice commentary on the book of genesis.

The David L Turner on Matthew is $15 at ChristianBooks. It is dated 2005. The Amazon book is $100, dated 2008. Does anyone have more information?

I have the volumes on Habakukk and Romans. Both are excellent for scholarly and devotional work. I have no denominational association, I'm only interested in what the individual books have to say for themselves. Both editions are well written and I feel as if the authors are speaking directly to me.

I'm used to having a single commentary per book. Lately, I've been thinking about purchasing a one volume commentary. It was mentioned to me the Bible Knowledge Commentary. Does the Nivac one volume have more indepth or more info than the Bible Knowledge commentary? Or which would you recommend? Any help I would appreciate. Gary

Can anyone who has already had access to the book tell me if they affirm the sacraments as means of salvation and affirm that Baptism communicates the grace of regeneration and remission of sins and Holy Supper communicates the grace of communion with the blood and body of Christ and his benefits? This is something that the Westminster Symbols teach and the Reformers and divines affirmed in their writings, but modern interpretations of the confession have reinterpreted or even disregarded.

NRSV is one version I stay away from.

David deSilva is great. They probably recruited him because he's an apocrypha officionado. That said I still wouldn't buy this one.

Thanks for the heads up. The title is a bit misleading, and I would have expected something else, as you said. I understand that there are arguments for making a product like this, but I also see the dangers if one is not already a seasoned Christian. And, as soon as you opened it up, I knew it wouldn't work for me because the print is too small.

What a bizarre study Bible. That’s exceedingly upsetting that now our scholars seem more preoccupied to stand for the new social issue than if Christ really could not be held by death.

CBD is awesome. I have acquired so many good titles from them over time. Please note...they do NOT have a store front, nor a visitors lobby nor even just a shelf or shelves of books for sale. They are strictly an internet only company though their building is a huge warehouse. Needless to say, I took a trip and found all that out the hard way. But yes, CBD is top flight.

Im torn between the CSB study Bible and the NLT illustrated study Bible. I love both translations. I would consider the SRT Bible more of a devotional than a study Bible.

Not so great for overseas buyers. I had 7 books for $19.36 in the cart and the shipping is an extra USD $42.89. In the end it’s probably the same if I buy them at Amazon.
