Cutting 30mm granite with cheap blades - do they work?
I needed to cut granite. I didn't want to spend a fortune. I already had an Angle Grinder. So I thought I would take a punt on a cheap diamond blade. Here's how it went ... and whether or not I got that new granite worksurface for my workshop!
Here is the disc blade I used:

    Hi. This is not the proper solution. I have a printing shop and i own this model. Faced the same issue and came to this video. Later i found proper solution: - the real reason is items left in print queue. When you have this issue, your printer will be showing 'offline' in printers and scanners page in control panel - there is a seperate print queue in canons software(not the one in 'printers and scanners' page in control panel) - to clear that you need to open Canon IJ printer utility(hope it's the correct name) - there you can find a seperate print queue with pending jobs - just clear it. Now your printer will be showing 'idle' instead of 'offline' in printers and scanners page in control panel

    Bare tools make a lot of sense. Lesser used tools are cheaper as you buy the tool without batteries and use the batteries you already own. If they were forced to supply batteries with every tool, they'd also have to supply a charger, and we'd all end up paying for it. I agree that the name brand batteries are far too expensive. It's ultimately where they make their money. But cheap batteries can be dangerous. Many of them don't implement the undercharge and overcharge protection that is an essential safety feature in a lithium pack. You can end up in a situation where running a tool just that little bit too long causes one of the cells to become undercharged, putting the pack out of balance and therefore the whole battery stops charging. Or if the battery doesn't have overcharge protection and you leave it on the charger, you can end up with a fire on your hands or a nasty explosion. The genuine bateries contain microchips that communicate with the circuitry in the tool and the charger to keep them within safe operating conditions. Lithium batteries are no joke and while they certainly shouldn't be as expensive as they are, the only way to guarantee safety and longevity is to buy the proper ones. You're actually lucky these didn't work as you probably saved yourself a future headache or serious injury, you get what you pay for.

    • @drmousette
      @drmousette 10 годин тому

      You're right, and they shouldn't be as expensive as they are. These companies use them to maximise their margins and squeeze more pennies out of customers. However, I do believe that if a tool is battery powered, it should be supplied with a battery. I too have several Dewalt and Milwaukee tools, and I have to hunt round the cases to see which ones have the battery in there. They could supply them with batteries and sell the chargers separately. There was a guy on UA-cam who did a really interesting video which backs up what you said - he dismantled a genuine battery and compared it with a knock off. The results were shocking. Worth watching.

    You can buy the tool with battery or ''tool only''. The advantage of purchasing tool only is for owners that already have an established ecosystem and do not need to buy the battery with said tool.

    • @drmousette
      @drmousette 10 годин тому

      Yes, but you still have one less battery than the number of your tools. And even if you have an 'ecosystem' it still needs batteries buying to put into it.

    It is common among all cordless brand that they sale what they call bare unit (no battery). Some units you can buy with or without battery. Make sense, i Have several units, but I do not need a seperate battery for each for example my cordless multi-tool, circular saw, planer.

      But when you are doing a long job with a couple of tools on the go and you are constantly swapping / charging batteries between them, it gets a bit wearisome. So you end up buying more batteries .... and kerching! They make a shedload more cash out of it.
