Pat was my first REAL therapist as far as I'm concerned. I went through a real tough time in the late 80s and early 90s. I wouldn't have made it through had it not been for his music. I just wouldn't have. And from that point forward, I've never missed a performance when he was in my neck of the woods. NEVER. That was the least I could do to repay him.

I was fortunate to see this show in Albuquerque, New Mexico in '92... phenomenal show... I still have my ticket stub❤

I love Pat but I've found him stuck for a while. He needs to experiment more. not things like orchestrion but changing guitars, showing what he can do with his compositions on an ibaez, a fender, I don't know, even making an album without a guitar and showing that more than a guitar virtuoso he is a brilliant composer and a multi-instrumentalist that does not need the guitar to create new things and not keep repeating each album.

It's too bad that more people haven't experienced Pat's absolute magic.He could any of the top guitar players ever.But he chose jazz and he compose all of this amazing sounds

You also notice that it takes at least 2 keyboardist to even come close to Lyle's Genius.Such a tragic loss to the music world

Don't know if it's mentioned elsewhere in comments but the track was written by Metheny/Mays as an elegy for jazz pianist Bill Evans, who died on September 15th, 1980.

I saw the PMG in 1993 at Wolf Trap in Washington, DC. It was the same tour. An incredible show. The group was at their peak. They were an amazing group of musicians working together to create an unforgettable experience/performance. It's hard to believe it was 30 years ago. Where does the time go?
