Idk how 2 and 2.5 balances it. I only have 1.0 and play casually. I feel like it should be a sub weapon in the slot it uses now. 4 attack, range of 1-2 Takes an action to use. Maybe nerf to 5 or 6 cost. (Due to scum sub weapons being sorta capped at 3 red, 1-3 range and 4ish cost.) You don't lose defense, you get to put this on ships that often could never get a sub weapon like Ties. Honestly it would be heavily used on scum and Empire if it was set up this way.
for like 4 points you could just bring a rocket. Something to try and snipe an important target other wise It's not really worth it

I have been playing x-wing for a long time and just now found it. everything you said hold up perfectly in 2.5!
I know I'm getting to the party very late, but TIE Fighters are light, fast UNSHIELDED fighters. Moving them in anything more than pairs is suicide, and even in pairs, you need to check your spacing. They would be better served in a pincer against individual targets, than dogpiling.
Put expose on a decimator with experimental interface.

Fyi for people time traveling from 2021 and are confused about some of the 1.0 movement rules, you could fly through your own ships in 1.0 - this was removed in 2.0 and you "bump into" the ship and move backward along the move template.
Pls continue this great channel for 2.0!
2021 and these are still some of the best basic strategy videos available on youtube, despite a whole new version coming out.

This is why the star wars franchise is very realistic: If you want to be a commander, you play x wing the board game, if you want to be a starfighter pilot, you play playstation vr x wing mission rogue one, if you want to be a jedi, you go to disneyland/disney world and go to the trials of the temple, or you buy the lenovo lightsaber training, or you can just buy a lightsaber and train with it.
Can anyone answer if you are allowed to pre-move your ship (without using the template) to check distance/ possible conflicts? Or do they need to remain fixed in place until the actual move takes place?
Unfortunately not, you can only use the template once you’ve already decided on your movement. So it’s good to get an idea of the different sizes and curvatures before hand.
