I think it’s amazing how some writers can take characters like Toki and Yuria who are generally liked in Japan and give them the worlds most boring stories for the most part (less of Toki and more of Yuria). At least there are some interesting moments in the Gaiden’s for what it’s worth.

Good video, it's really nice to see Baran appreciation. I definitely consider him the best post-Asura villain, and he's higher in my list than some of the pre-Asura villains of the manga. As for the Bolge, I would definitely not describe him as interesting, just a bit fun. Would be nice if he was just a minion of the main villain, but it's really underwhelming for the final villain of the whole manga.

Hes my top 5 favorites in the series tbh. Juuza toki raoh falco & ken goats.

Juza has some great qualities. I like how his "sad clown" persona fits into the larger narrative. I think the narrowly avoided incest thing was a little unnecessary. They couldve just made him Yuria's ex boyfriend. The scene of him crying as Yuria walks off with Kenshiro is one of the best emotional moments in the series. From what ive read, Juza was supposed to initially come off as this perfect, enviable guy before realizing the pain that was under the surface. He's a pretty boy who can defeat Raoh despite not knowing anreal martial art. He seems to not care about anyone or anything when in reality, hes so depressed that he cant focus on anything at all. His gaiden is awful though.

Also M video suggestion; make one hnk vid on Yuda and how he works and doesnt work as a character and how he could be improved as a villain

I normally don’t like the anime additions but the final part of Juza’s fight is perfection and I hope the new anime keeps it somehow.

Thanks M for making this vid on Juza and allowing me to see how out of all the HNK characters hes one of the best written, and honestly i kinda like him more than Rei imo. As much as hes the stereotypical playboy they made tht trope human thru Juza, showing tht yes he was lustful but ultimately had a good heart in him(ofc toward Yuria in thr anime and manga, which i hv to admit i wish we saw more of his good natured side like tht in Juza gaiden). Only criticism i would make is tht i feel as a character he doesnt rlly link to the main storyline tht much. Yes with Raoh but not with Kenshiro, which u pointed out in ir Juza gaiden review would have made for a very interesting character dynamic. Coz both Ken and Juza were in love with Yuria, but one had a sense of responsibility while the other was just wistful for the most part and mischievous. With more interactions btwn the two Juza would be able to fit in the base story better, and would perhaps hv made Juza seen Ken as more of a fellow martial artist in arms besides being a rival loving the same woman. Tht kind of character arc would rlly make HnK better as a story and i hope tht a remake of HNK tdy would be able to achieve tht. But thts probs wishful thinking.

Bro Juza was matching Raoh without being fated or trained to be anyone. Dude made all the martial arts in the anime look like a joke. I mean he was still cool but like demn did he fuck up the optics.

Anime Juza was on New Game+ I actually feel that anime Juza gets taken to kind of an extreme with how gallant they portray him. In the manga, you can tell Juza isn't motivated by anything other than his own whims. He isn't cruel or downright insane like a lot of other HnK characters, but he isn't some benevolent spirit trying to make the world a better place. He doesn't really care, which just makes it even more ironic and contrasting when he willingly throws away his life for someone else. Like, if the world wasn't such a cruel and unforgiving wasteland, he could probably be a pretty decent person. I also find it funny just how many people are in love with Yuria.

ok for real though, like you said, Juza was a breath of fresh air because we finally had a secondary/side character who didn't get killed on sight, had a wider background and a deeper trivia other than Rei. Also, the idea of a neutral character who belongs to neither good nor evil is a sensitive character trope that can be fumbled easily, but thankfully, that wasn't the case for our cloud boi, as he was given a good placement, reason and timing for someone like him to be a part of the story.

One more thing, have you considered making a Kaioh video? One thing I love about Muso Tensei is how we never truly know if it's supernatural or not. On one hand, Hokuto is built on understanding an opponent's martial arts, so Ken and Raoh could have just picked up their rivals' moves. We see Ken use Shu and Toki's moves during the Souther fight. It's also possible that Toki's "ghost" was just Raoh's imagination. However, there's also an argument for it being supernatural and that Muso Tensei is actually departed friends helping from the afterlife. Raoh can only access Toki's moves since Juza and Fudo died on bad terms with him. Similarly, Ken never uses Jagi's moves. Ken's ability to overcome blindness also doesn't seem like something you could learn on the fly. Also I love jump Force's translation. "Battle Grief" sounds way better than "Unconscious transmigration of souls"
