Doesn't look efficient. What's the output power (torque x rpm)?
No is not. It still have the old motor installed and the old gearing.
Awesome!!!
That's a great idea, thanks for explaining everything and sharing the free 3D file on your website. Also, I'm really interested in buying the new JP40 cells that have taken the top spot from Molicel as the best performing cell on the market right now.
I can see you.

Very informative!
Very cool build
Hello, could you do the same test at 40A for molicel p45b and bak 45d to compare the cells? I want to make 6s2p for edf jets. In full throttle it consumes 95A. And here in Greece i cant buy eve 40pl or ampace jp40. I can buy only molicel p45b and bak45d.
Careful...those are not speed rated tires😮
@@vikingblood5775 I completely agree. I need street rated tires.

Not really. This motor has been tested more than 8000W
Hi friend, could you make a video explaining how you can make that electronic charging module reach up to 2700 AH?

Awesome video! I’m in the market for a reliable internal resistance meter, but there are so many options out there. From your experience, which IR tester provides the most accurate results? I've been looking at models like the ToolTop IR502, FNIRSI HRM-10, and Hioki BT3561A, known for its precision with lithium-ion batteries. Other options I’m considering are the UNI-T UT677A with Bluetooth and storage features, the portable AideTek SM8124A, and the X-cosrack B3, which offers multi-functional capabilities. Any advice on which one would be the best choice for consistent accuracy? Thanks a lot!"
FNIRSI HRM-10 is my favorite meter that offer more information, calibration and store testing result in memory. Now, the YR1035+ is the most simpler to use and faster when you are in rush and has similar readings. Also the YR1035+ is the most common. But again my favorite is FNIRSI HRM-10
@DIY500AMP Let me get one 😅
Great! Here my resumee: Test of DIY 500AMP EVE PL 33A 3,82V/cell, after 20s and then 40A 3,57V/cell, at 1 min 3,52V@30,8°C, 2 min ca. 3,41V @40,0°C (but what´s annoying is voltage starting at 4,27V on the tester..) JP40 33A 3,74V/cell, after 20s and then 40A 3,60V/cell, at 1 min XX V@29,7°C, 2 min ca. 3,47V @37,5°C (starting at 4,23V) Tests of CoolWatts: P45B after 3sec is 3,53V/cell and at 1 min 3,39V @39,0°C, 2 min 3,30V @51,8°C BAK after 3sec is >3,65V/cell and at 1 min 3,48V @36,1°C, 2 min 3,41V @52,4°C JP40 after 5sec is >3,68V/cell and at 1 min 3,56V @36,0°C, 2 min 3,45V @44,2°C (starting at 4,19V)
Super nice test! I forgot to comment when I watched the video the other day. I hope it gets much more views! Also waiting for a test with the BAK 2170-45D or 40D in the future. Just for resuming: Tests of CoolWatts: P45B after 3sec is 3,53V/cell and at 1 min 3,39V @39,0°C, 2 min 3,30V @51,8°C BAK after 3sec is >3,65V/cell and at 1 min 3,48V @36,1°C, 2 min 3,41V @52,4°C JP40 after 5sec is >3,68V/cell and at 1 min 3,56V @36,0°C, 2 min 3,45V @44,2°C (starting at 4,19V) Test of DIY 500AMP EVE PL 33A 3,82V/cell, after 20s and then 40A 3,57V/cell, at 1 min 3,52V@30,8°C, 2 min ca. 3,41V @40,0°C (but what´s annoying is voltage starting at 4,27V on the tester..) JP40 much colder, on performance a bit better than EVE and BAK
Suscrito hermano!
sooner or later we will see 5Ah or even 6 Ah high current cells..
very sooner !!!
imagine 5 in parallel... 200 Amps would need "jump starter" cables to connect to your bike or scooter 😂
Yes !!! is a beast of cell.
Hi, I woud like to know where you got the cells from
I have available on my site. diy500amp.com
That cell is overcharged technically speaking that's 4.3v.. cool setup
Technically yes.
Can you put up a step by step video of how you installed everything
I will work with that !! Thanks for suggesting !!
Super nice video! I have a question: What's the name of yellow tape that seems to be sticky on both sides? Thank you!
@@ared7909 thanks!!! The name is Kapton tape.
I put small piece of solder between copper layers melted with spot welder - worked ok - silver solder might be good - had a glitter worked good but came with very poor design handle - pin handles and foot pedal is way to go like you have
My biggest criticims is the lack of automatic control in the timing. Meanwhile we depend on the pedal.
Great job, Im looking forward to what you will make with the frame generator software!
Thank to you!!! Is an amazing software !!!
These cells are going to change the game. Things that were previously impossible will become the norm. Pretty incredible that a small company created them before the big name brands. Where is the Molicel equivalent?
The Molicel “equivalent” is the P50B and is very inferior to these cell. The closed competitor is the EVE 40 PL and is inferior as well.
@@DIY500AMP The P50B is tabless?
@@dieselphiend no. Is a P45B in steroids
@@DIY500AMP I didn't think so. Molicel will obviously come out with their own tabless cells, and there's a good chance they will take the high drain crown back. At least imo.
@@DIY500AMP The Ampace JP40 cells would make an excellent power source for a battery spot welder. I'm also imagining how much they will change flashlight designs. They will double the brightness of turbo modes. And then there's portable vaporizers- they have always needed high drain cells, and to imagine at least a doubling in amperage is just insane. These cells will bring about a shifting in drone power sources from lipo based pouch cells, to these JP40 cylindrical cells until someone else can compete with them. I bet Ukraine is already using them in their drones.
What spot welder did you use?
Glitter 811H
Let's see the moli 50 in comparison
@@dcktater7847 has been already tested by Mooch and the Molicel P50B is not performing even close to the JP40
@@DIY500AMPhigher amp hours but lower max current on the 50b good for longer range packs with SEVERAL cells in parallel (so current per cell is lower)
Amazing test! Personally I would rather have less sag in my pack and the JP40 is $1 per cell cheaper, which adds up on a big Ebike battery pack like 72v.
I agree. Also has demonstrating an amazing longevity.
How much did the complete set up cost with bike. Man you are gonna get pulled over bro and it’s gonna get impounded.
I do not do that often. Normally I am a trail rider. This was only testing the setup. I do not ride fast normally. The cost involved is close to the 5K and going up for 1K since I am changing wheels, Tires, Brakes, transmission. I will have the video with upgrades soon.
Hello very strong baterries!!Can you do the same test with molicel p45b?
@@skorpios51 I will.
This cannot be true: - The JP40 maintains a slightly higher voltage throughout the test (max of 3.6V) compared to the EVE 40PL (max of 3.52V). - with the EVE 40PL providing a peak power of 143W and the JP40 peaking at 123W. while you are testing at 40A. If Jp40 has higher voltage, then it must also provide higher peak power at the same current.
You are right. The true is the EVE hit harder than the JP40 for the first 1-3 seconds but the JP40 maintain a higher voltage. As I mentioned, the way I am testing at the beginning affect the results on the table but I will repeat the test to have numbers that sustain the results.
Amazing video! Thanks for pushing the EVE 40PL cell to its limits with the 40A continuous discharge test. The detailed breakdown and data really help understand the performance of these cells under extreme conditions. Appreciate all the effort you put into testing and sharing the results! I'm looking forward to more in-depth tests like this!" 👏👏👏
Thanks to you for supporting my channel !!
this is unprecedented. I want this on a MOTOCROSS
It is amazing cell !
Μy Man!!!👏👏 Waiting to see more tests about these two cells!!!👀 THANK YOU!!!🙏 Price difference..?🤔
JP40 = $5.15 shipped , EVE 40PL = $6.25 + shipping.

Tom brown park FTW lol
In Mexico !!
Does the continuos discharge adds up for each cell in parallel ? Like 40 A + 40 A + 40 A ...
Correct and each cell is capable to produce 72A continuously. now you need to + the amount of parallel and that will tell you your total current continuously because is known that each cell is capable to produce over 140A for 5 seconds.
@@DIY500AMP that is outrageous
That 3000 watt module looks insane hahaha. Love it
Thank you !!!
Great attention to detail
I will be releasing today more testing.
Hmm surprised your only using a 52v battery with a cyc gen 4 really should be using a 72v because your never going to hit the optimal on a 52v battery becauae a 52v battery can never reach the 5400w optimal of the gen 4
@@talosdarkbane2432 yes it does. I built a 72V 20S8P as well. Also I have a 17S3P with JP4 and 13S4P. My 52V does over 6200W
I had no idea JP40 cells existed. So many less cell running JP40 instead of a P45B or a P42A with probably less voltage sag.
This is an amazing cell.
Dale lo voy a hacer
I got my HRM-10. cool little tool.
It is a nice toy !!!! As precise as my fluke 87 V
note that all the current must go through the input protection diode - that is the limiting factor. One tip about stacking these - if you remove the fans and stack the modules closer, you can push air from the side (in line with the fins), if you constrain the airflow with duct, it should be much better at cooling the module despite using less fans. Also cools the resistors ;-)
I consider using cpu liquid cooling.
@@DIY500AMP that will be really annoying to mount...this is not one big heatsink, but 4 small ones...I would instead consider a "cold isle" arrangement with big high power fans and 3D printed ducting.
Awesome job. You just voided the warranty.
