This channel focuses mainly on remembering those pioneers that came to America in the early 1800's through the exploration of pioneer cemeteries and old family cemeteries that have been forgotten to time. These pioneer's lived hard lives and faced harsh winters and unforgiving disease. Many were lucky to reach adulthood. I hope to document as many of these pioneers as I can before nature eliminates them from history. Please join me as I explore these wonderful cemeteries.

Touring an amazing cemetery - FOREST HOME CEMETERY
Переглядів 531Місяць тому
Today's adventure takes us to Forest Park, Illinois and to Forest Home Cemetery. I did a video of this historic cemetery in 2023 and, because the cemetery is so big, I missed a lot of history. I was fortunate enough to connect with Amy who volunteers at the Historical Society of Forest Park and gives walking and biking tours of this cemetery. She was nice enough to offer a personal tour of the ...
FINDING THE GRAVE OF SHREK - Lithuanian National Cemetery
Переглядів 694Місяць тому
Tucked along a two-lane road just outside of Chicago is a beautiful Lithuanian Cemetery with majestic monuments and statues that memorialize those who are buried there. One of these monuments is that of Maurice Tillet. Maurice's story is amazing. Born in Russia, as a young man he had a disease that caused his body to swell and disform. This would not only play a role in his career, he is also t...

ITS AMAZING ALL THERE LIVES THEY HAD SECURITY ARE SOMEBODY WITH THEM ALWAYS...NOW THEY LAY THERE FORGOTTEN
Wow those mini cathedral coffins
Well ....we went down a few steps (I know it's a 'short' video but might it have been abit better starting the 'short' video actually being 'IN' the Catacom-thingie.?) Just a suggestion -- no disrespect meant.
It always make me smile that the nineteen century is 'very old' to Americans, but is pretty much 'modern history' to we Brits. 😄
I retired from , Hillside School across the street.. my folks a baired in there the school is hunted as well
Squire was 70 yrs when he died wife 73
Finally someone visiting cemeteries in my neck of the woods love this 💜
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😢😢😢Thank you for shareling your video.
I grew up on Catalpa not far from there - now I need to go back and explore more! Such a beautiful place.
@@erinsmith3845 it’s very beautiful
11:01 Bathroom ?

My mom's been here since 85'...... it's now my 40th year without her...❤
Wow Bryan! Very historical, very intricate, and I would imagine, very expensive...Deb.
Carving stone is such a beautiful art
"white bronze." I love these monuments. They are so clean. The info on the center pedestal is on plates and they can be replaced. Plus with a hollow interior you have a good time capsule.
First president
And that how they do not pay taxes
Gorge Washington in Arlington cemtery ❤
Found what I guess is his obituary. It mostly talks about his great grandfather instead of him. 😅
Glad you came back to this one Bryan. I loved those mausoleums and the unique wood style monument. It was nice that the little orphans had their own spot. Take care and keep warm! Deb of Oz.
These graves have crosses and pictures of saints. It is so ironic that these were violent and evil men but have religious emblems on their graves.
Be glad you did this when you did it's snowing today it's Monday enjoy your video
Sears part when i was there i felt so lightheaded and nauseous. Only part that truly was creepy and definitely, definitely haunted. There are stories of the ghost of Sears in a top hat that has been sighted there. Ugh!!! 👻
Some of my relatives are buried in kenosha, bristol, lake geneva's oakhill, and sunset memorial!
As i have been here many times through other 's videos. I always ask the question about the woman in the white dress why doesn't some one roll it over maybe the name is somewhere on it!
It always amazes me that your channel doesn't have many more subscribers! you always present a great mix of history, local information for where you are, plus your commentary is wonderful. 😃
Thank you for the kind words and for watching!
67 that's old in his 50s when he joined the war
Love that you do research and add some history to your videos. Thanks for the peek in that mausoleum - that was so cool!
Yeah, earlier this summer I went to look for that mausoleum that broke down but couldn’t find it. What sad is they could’ve put some kind of monument marker there cause I guess that was one of the founders of champagne you think they would put something in there, maybe they’re working on it.
Really enjoyed that - lots of different interests. Loved the wood monument - very unique. And the mausoleums stepping back and back. Just found your channel and am thoroughly enjoying it and I expect you to get out and about in the cold and snow 😂
Thanks for watching! The winter is the best time for me to get out and find some abandoned cemeteries but I'm disliking the cold more and more as I get older.
Great video! I was hoping you would put one out on over Thanksgiving weekend. 😊
Al got blame for everything
No, it said George rashington
Ain’t that some shit, that dude outlived both his wives and I can’t even get a goth girl to murder me?
YOU WERE NEXT TO HIM THEN😲
Scott is my friend and he would love to know that you gave him kudos 😎
