It's More Fun phrase from Matteo Mancuso Phrase Trainer
Caught this on Beato, crazy genius level Matteo Mancuso taking a jazzy type lick and making it more "fun". A quartal lick a phrase built on fourths. In this case from the lowest note F# you get F# B E A D G. There's more complexity to it but that's the gist.
Can play this with a pick, sweep picking style, or if you're a classical player try Mancuso's fingerstyle approach. Doesn't hurt to practice 10 hours a day and be a musical genius ala Mozart either. lol

Glenn Tipton's solo slowed down, looped, and played back with a midi file type sound. Yes, funky sounding but effective. Remember, if you can't play it slow you won't be on solid ground playing it up to speed, so go through the whole thing. Also, notice the transitions from E minor to E major pentatonic. Slick. Cool fill by Robby Krieger in the first verse of Roadhouse Blues. This has a swing feel which when counted kind of looks like this: 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and / 1 etc. with a space between the 1 and the "and" etc. You can think of it as pushing the "and" closer to the next downbeat. Thanks. Hope it helps. For what it’s worth, I lost the “1” towards the end. Sounds like a 2/4 measure in there or something like that. Tried counting in 2/4 but 4/4 seemed to work better.
