Last Flowers is one of my favorite Radiohead songs. I think a lot of people overlook it because of how sad it is, but for me, it hits hard.

They were on fire for these sessions - maybe at their true peak. My suggestion for continuing B-Sides: -"Radiohead OKNOTOK' - start at track 13 "I Promise" (this B-Side got nominates for a Grammy for best Alt-Rock Albun, even as an LP, as we waited btw OKC and KidA -'Radiohead Comlag' - These are all of the B-Sides from "Hail to the Thief" -"Radiohead The Bends Deluxe - Start at track #13 "The Trickster" I think there are literally 14 tracks!!! And they are on fire throughour, some classics in there...cant's wait for you to hear "Talk Shiw Host" -Radiohead Kid Amnesiac - there are just a couple of KidA BiSides, but they are gorgeous classic - look up "Kid Amnesia" and it will have all the originals for Kid A and Amnesiac, but just listen to tracks 23 to 28 - "Say the Word" and "Follow me Around" are the 2 real treasures -"Radiohead Amnesiac B-Sides' : There are a couple playlists, one has 8 tracks on has 10, either one has all B-sides, great record! -"Radiohead The Daily Mail" - This has the 2 missing songs from The King of Limbs, possibly the 2 best tracks so always a mystery why they weren't on the album but they are a treat to say the least. -"Radiohead Ill Wind and Spectre" these are the only 2 technical B-Sides for 'A Moon Shaped Pool" - though "Spectre" was written to be a James Bond Movie theme song....

I heavily recommend other b-sides and projects like OKNOTOK, Comlag, KID-Amnesia and the two amnesiac b and c sides🙏

In depth analysis of each song on disk 2 (working progress) MK1: 1:30 This song follows directly after the ending track of in rainbows "videotape" and you can truly feel the emotional slide that was videotape bleed into this first track, both in instrumentals and the hum vocals. It's a short instrumental track that partially sets the mood for later things to come in this b-side. MK is supposed to be an abbreviation of "Mark" so this is literally mark one of the album. With mellow, muffled and reverbed piano and vocals that'll put you in a trance, it surely adds something much needed to the videotape instrumental. One could see it as Faust in the afterlife. My rating: 7.5/10 Down is the new up: 2:23 This song starts off with someone telling themselves or someone else to calm down and trying to reassure themselves of something. Some even say that the "Nothings gonna happen without warning" lyric might be in reference to 4 minute warning. Yorke singing "what is up, Buttercup?" might be like him asking about how a naive optimist could see the world so positively. The Post-Chorus adlibs might represent the character asking out their crush (whatever it may be) in their own head and the vocals are maybe supposed to represent them getting rejected in a cruel fashion, and as for the metaphorical meaning of this in relation to my previous ideas, maybe the guys the protagonist asking out the desirable optimistic mindset to later be rejected by it as it takes over. There is a subtle hint of suicidal lyricism depicting maniacally deciding to jump off possibly a building such as "down is the new up", "without safety gear on I shall now perform an 180 flip flop" and "what if I just flip flopped". As for the end portion, I've always heard thom singing a combination of Topsy turvy town and Toxic to the tounge. Fun fact: some lipreaders say that the businessman from the Just music video says "Down is the new up." The instrumentals on these track feel sort of badass and ominous while still remaining a more glad beat even with the subject matter. I theorize this song may have something to do with Bipolar mood swings and how they can feel. Mania vs Depression with a mix of panic thrown in. My rating: 8/10 Come Slowly: 7:54 This song starts off with our character calling out to someone named "Maria" (most likely in reference to the virgin mary) pleading for them to return or head slowly towards them possibly to relish the moment while it last or to not get hurt by going too quickly from my interpretation and has been waiting for this a long time without complaints. Later on this character admits to not having cared about it so much before but only now acknowledging that theres indeed a way out of the situation they find themselves in. This song likely has alot to do with religion, especially the concept of a "afterlife" and living sanctified, but it also has to do with relationships/sex and more subtly suicide idealization and addiction. The instrumentals are very melancholic/mellow and instantly gets you deeply invested in its gloomy child like sound. My rating: 9/10 MK2: 10:40 The second marker for the album and by far the most mysteriously interesting. It's short duration adds to this sentiment. It has an eerily ominous vibe to it like almost terrifying. It sounds like the experimental alien ambience of a haunted vampire castle/mansion. It really fits well with the vibe we've built so far in this album. Both marks are in the first half of this album/EP. Not much else to say about a song that speaks volumes without having any lyrics. It sounds like someone trying to conduct MKUltra on you. My rating: 6/10 Last flowers: 11:24

4 Minute Warning originated in England during the Cold War. The song is about being nuked. 4 minutes is how much warning they'd have in England in the event of a nuclear launch. Listen to the song again with that in mind and it's even darker than you realize. And that's why i only listen to it when I'm feeling the doom vibes in the world. 😂😬

There is a whole albums worth of b-sides from the "Kid A/Amnesiac" sessions! Theck them out too please!! Each album pretty much as there version of a disk 2 b-sides! The "comlag ep" from "HTTT" , "my iron lung" ep etc u still have so much more Radiohead to go and u haven't even touched thom yorkes 3 solo albums or two other bands i.e "Atoms for peace" and "the smile"!! 😜

Next King of Limbs In the Basement?

I do like some of these songs but I feel they are kind of simple and under developed, which is understandable, they choose which songs they want on in rainbows and then further develop those songs into the beautiful and complex masterpieces you find on in rainbows. Then they move onto their next body of work. King of limbs from the basement is epic mate (in my opinion better than the album) and includes three great singles, The Daily mail, Staircase and Super collider

Last Flowers is such an underrated song. They’ve been performing it live since at least 1997 to my knowledge, and decided to finally release it on a B-side album a decade later. It’s such a powerful and raw song

Love this one so much. One of the best b-sides. Check out the I Might Be Wrong EP. It has live performances of Spinning Plates and True Love Waits.

Thanks for doing this reaction! One of my top ten albums. One minor issue: I am hard of hearing- the louder the better (for me). If it’s too loud for some maybe they can turn down their home volume. I can’t turn it up any higher than the max ha ha. I’m not complaining as I have the songs in my head enough to hear it as if it was loud! It’s cool to see a newer Radiohead fan getting more and more into them. These Basement videos are CRAZY good. Cheers, a new subscriber.

If you want to hear what they're like these days, Thom and Jonny have a band called The Smile that has put out 3 incredible albums in the past 3 years. Basically Radiohead is Thom and Jonny's songwriting, so you get to hear what they'd kind of sound like now, but just with different approach to arranging and some more jazzy compositions. Absolutely worth checking out. Also, Thom has 3 solo records that are all great. They're very electronic and sound very different than Radiohead, but if you like his creativity, they're worth checking out. Start with The Eraser. It's a masterpiece.
