That high pitched noise on House of Cards that sounds a bit like a distant violin, that is Jonny's guitar! He's very quickly scraping the rough edge of a coin back and forth along the string, almost using it like a violin bow :)
Thanks for doing this reaction! One of my top ten albums. One minor issue: I am hard of hearing- the louder the better (for me). If it’s too loud for some maybe they can turn down their home volume. I can’t turn it up any higher than the max ha ha. I’m not complaining as I have the songs in my head enough to hear it as if it was loud! It’s cool to see a newer Radiohead fan getting more and more into them. These Basement videos are CRAZY good. Cheers, a new subscriber.
I’m so excited for the king of limbs in the basement reaction. The Daily Mail is one of my all time favourite Radiohead songs. That one isn’t on the studio album. The version they play live in the basement is the version they released as well. The recording was that good
If you want to hear what they're like these days, Thom and Jonny have a band called The Smile that has put out 3 incredible albums in the past 3 years. Basically Radiohead is Thom and Jonny's songwriting, so you get to hear what they'd kind of sound like now, but just with different approach to arranging and some more jazzy compositions. Absolutely worth checking out. Also, Thom has 3 solo records that are all great. They're very electronic and sound very different than Radiohead, but if you like his creativity, they're worth checking out. Start with The Eraser. It's a masterpiece.
@@liadcohen8327 I have been hearing about this one! I haven’t forgot, I’m sure I’ll get to it at some point but I have some other things in the works! Thanks for the suggestion and information my guy! 🟢
I look at Radiohead as The Beatles of my generation and right up there with the best bands of all time, The King Of Limbs from the basement is just as good as this one and it may even be better. They play 3 extra songs in the basement set that aren't on any of their albums ans they're all really good to great.
@@jameshannagan4256 I can’t wait to hear the Beatles 😎 and I can’t wait to see that performance as well! Especially since I don’t hear alot of people liking that album!
@@frstlstn It was one of their most experimental albums (that's saying a whole lot with a band like Radiohead), Thom was getting sick of melody and decided to make an album based on rhythm instead of melody with somewhat mixed results ON THE STUDIO ALBUM from the basement they had to get another drummer to try and recreate the insane percussion (Clive Deamer from Portishead who's awesome) and they ended up having to recreate the entire album from scratch. The result is stunning, it's warmer, funkier, and just beautiful and miles better than the studio album and they're 3 extra songs that aren't on the album that 2 of them were as good or better than any of the album tracks. Please even if you don't react to it make sure you watch/listen to the basement session it made the album go from one of my least favorites to one of my favorites it's that good.
Kind of bad that most of the time you were paying more attention reading and replying to the people chatting than the actual songs, but that's ok, I understand that is how live streams work xD. Good reaction man, following you on Twitch too. By the way, what happened to "Weird Fishes"?, that is literally my favorite song and I was looking for that one the most hahaha
And also really good, basically whole albums of b-sides, demos, outtakes, etc. In Rainbows has disk 2, and OK computer has a ton of stuff, TKOL has a bunch. He could drag this out for quite some time if he really wanted to. lol
U have to react to Thom yorke's solo LP's now!!! "The Eraser" "tomorrow 's modern boxes"and "Anima" and then u got tons of "b-sides" !! Side groups! There is sooo much!!
They did a sort-of version of this for Kid A/Amnesiac on French TV ua-cam.com/video/T4rTf1ziSOs/v-deo.html and in the UK on a special edition of Later... With Jools Holland ua-cam.com/video/WNYyu72d9RY/v-deo.html.
Heard you mention how much you liked "King Of Limbs" and the song "Lotus Flower". That's sick. You should check out "Bloom" from that album, except Thom Yorke and Hans Zimmer arranged "Bloom" for Discovery Channel's Blue Planet. I'm not saying you have to react to it, but you should listen to it. I think it was a sign of what was to come with "A Moon Shaped Pool". I could be wrong. Just a fan

You need to hear the Bonnaroo version of videotape. It was the earliest version. And considered a fan favorite
I was at that show! Still the best concert I’ve ever been to
Happy to see you could get it up on UA-cam! I love this performance so much.

There’s a YT of them playing Joy Division’s Ceremony. I’ve listened to it about eleventy million times
Yeah I think there's also a cover of "the Headmasters ritual", from around the same time or same session.
I believe it's a Smiths song.
The Ceremony cover is sublime.
