Huge changes are coming soon! In this video, I used two brief clips of footage from @Ericstrains. Although these are not technically under a Creative Commons license, Eric states on ericstrains.com (in the FAQ section): "If you'd like to use any of my photographs or videos for non-profit or personal use, feel free do so. Rivarossi Docksider: A Plucky Survivor
Переглядів 4,5 тис.6 місяців тому
One of the most underappreciated vintage HO steamers is a personal favorite of mine. Note that this review only applies to this specific Rivarossi model - not the saddle-tank version, not Life-Like and Tyco's crappy imitations, and not even Rivarossi's own similar but smaller 0-4-0 model. The good ones can be identified by their fully operational Walschaerts valve gear.

By popular demand, here's my review of the new-tooling Bachmann old-time 4-4-0. I was hesitant to get one of these because of the high price, but I was quite pleasantly surprised by it, and I think it's well worthy of being Westport & Shelter Cove engine #1.

Today, I'm taking a break from making videos that no one requested, and making one that two or three people requested. I also reached 2000 subscribers when the video was mostly finished, so the "special" aspect is a bit of an afterthought, but at least it's more than what I did for 1000 subscribers, which was nothing. If this trend continues, when we reach 3000 subscribers, I will send a free p...
The Legend of Casey Jones

This is a short documentary about the life and death of Casey Jones, a famous railroad engineer who died in a train wreck in 1900. Casey gave his life to save his passengers, and became the subject of a well-known folk song. This documentary dramatizes the crash, and the events leading up to it, using models and practical effects to bring the scenes to life. Sim Webb's full interview: ua-cam.co...

ATTENTION! Since filming this, I've discovered that the superglue trick is actually a pretty bad idea. The glue can easily run inside the plug and completely jam it, and once that happens, it's impossible to get it out. A better option would be a very thick glue of some kind that will stay where you put it. If you do use superglue, make sure it's the gel stuff that doesn't run. This has been re...

My TRX-4 Sport turned into a Bronco, with the body lowered and smaller tires for a more scale appearance, in action at Saxe Point Park. This TRX-4 has gone through a quick succession of bodies, including the stock Sport body and a Jeep Cherokee, but this one is by far my favorite. I repainted the body on the outside, so it does scratch fairly easily, but I eventually plan to get a clear Bronco ...

EDIT: I later discovered that plugging the 8-pin decoder plug the other way around would have solved both the direction and lighting problems, and saved me a lot of programming. Flipping the plug around reverses the polarity to both the track and the motor, and swaps the front and rear lights. Oh well - at least now I know that for next time. I fitted RC to a new engine I got. Real easy. All I did was follow what you did with the one Terry got for me so thanks for that. A video now and then will be just fine. I really like the new set-up for the HO layout! It looks so old-time with the wooden walls behind it which really fits the theme well (since it’s a heritage line!) I do think the break in the backdrop due to the window looks a little odd, but there isn’t much you can do about that since wrapping the backdrop round the window wouldn’t work I’m guessing 😂. Looking forward to seeing the O Scale Layout!!! Also, are you still building your N Scale layout? I saw you post about it on the Facebook group ages ago but haven’t seen anything since

    First of all, that intro (more like first half of video) was amazing. The views, the music, *cat,* all of it was incredible. The O scale stuff looks really fun. It's been ages since I ran anything on FasTrack and I had forgotten how loud it was. Also it seems some problems never change. Your Williams 4-6-0 throws a traction tire, my 1948 Lionel 671 had one of its nickel rims come loose, same problem just with a different generation of trains. Also when I saw the thumbnail I thought this was an entirely different channel belonging to a friend of mine who I just saw today, so the "Moved to the East Coast" confused me until I realized it was actually you. Your new hairstyle makes you look almost exactly like him lol

    oooh! i cant wait to see the new layout! but, i do have two questions! do you have any plans to expand the original HO scale layout? am just a bit curious :3 and the other is do you plan to have a place to crawl into the middle of the O scale layout, or will there be a lifting section? since i figure you probably would need either of them to get into the middle-

    • @michaelramsey81
      @michaelramsey81 10 днів тому

      1. The HO layout will probably stay as-is for a while, but I have toyed with the idea of adding a logging branch line along the wall, perhaps over the couches. Maybe eventually. 2. The O scale layout will have a hinged gate for access to the middle, similar to my old Red Oak HO layout.
