We are working to capture some automotive adventures. We buy, sell and build old cars. We spend a lot of time looking for old vintage car parts from the 1920s thru the 1960s. We'll be digging out old cars and trying to find new homes for them! We hope you enjoy the adventures.
If you have any leads around Oklahoma please shoot us an email, but we'll travel father if there's plenty of junk to dig through!

1936 Ford Cabriolet · Rare Easter color Bambalino Blue
We snagged this killer 1936 Ford cabriolet from a good friend that was ready to retire and just couldn't work on her much more. Hank Snow called me to come over and take a look at his cabriolet and help him price it, but when I got there I completely fell in love with it.
He bought it in about 1986-7 and started rebuilding it. Over the years Hank would search out all the right parts, NOS parts and ones better than he had and swapped them out until he had an almost near perfect car! Hank rebuilt it 100% and did all the work and painted it himself.
Hank kept calling it an Easter color, which I didn't understand but after I got home I found out that Ford offered several "Easter colors" for a couple months and then discontinued them. Bambalino blue was the color Hank chose to paint this beautiful car! I made a good offer on the car, and Hank told me he'd take it.
He told me he wanted to keep it from anyone that would hot rod it, and I told him I'd like to leave it pretty much the way he built it. But after thinking about it, I think I'm going to lower it a little bit and add juice brakes. I hope he's ok with that! LOL!

1939 Ford Transmission gear swap! · Pomona Panel gets a '39 trans!!
Переглядів 851Місяць тому
Just before our yearly east coast trip to Old North State Invitational car show, Carlisle swap meet, TROG and Hershey swap meet, I decided to do a trans and rear end swap! UHG!! 1 week before like an idiot! But the '36 trans I dropped in the frame of the Pomona Panel was "Ok" at best! It would kick out of second when you let off the gas so I knew it wasn't good inside. Downshifting was no fun b...

Sold the 35 coupe before I could get around to updating it, and snagged this clean little 36 coupe. Rad little car, built by an older gentlemen about 15 years ago and has sat for a little while. SBC and Automatic are the heart of this little coupe and the interior is nice and clean, so we're gonna change out the wheels/tires and give it a great little stance to match the nice paint and knock th...

We're working away on the 1931 Ford Model A Roadster marking off stuff every week! This week we knock out some rear shocks on it using some custom brackets and some F1 pickup front shock arms!! We're moving right along on the old roadster, this week we knocked out some copper/nickel brake lines and plumbed the 1939-48 Ford Master cylinder to complete the brake system! We used the early 1939-1941 Backing plates up front on a dropped 1934 axle with 1941 drums, then in the back we have a 1935 Ford rear axle with 1936-7 Lincoln Zephyr wishbones, we shorted the torque tube and then added 1...
How to spot a good Flathead Ford Engine!

We tear down a 8BA style flathead ford engine and show you where to look for the common cracks and problems. This engine was decent engine that we had to tear down for a customer that just wanted the block. We pulled the crank and pistons but the valves were stuck so we decided to leave them for his machine shop as they were not needed by either of us. The crank in a mercury engine is .25" long...
How to shorten Early Ford Torque Tubes · 1931 Ford Model A Roadster Part 5
Переглядів 2,3 тис.4 місяці тому
1931 Ford Model A Roadster build... This time we cut up a 1939/40 torque tube to work with the 1935 rear axle and hook to the trans! We had to take out the 1935 torque tube because they more of a tube instead of a solid shaft. They are also tapered to the outside ends so shortening one would be impossible. We grabbed an extra 1939 torque tube and drive shaft we had laying around and it worked o...

Will the Pomona Panel Run?? Flathead Ford 8BA engine first start!
Переглядів 7 тис.8 місяців тому
Let's try and get this 8BA running! The Pomona Panel got a 8BA I scored from a friend a couple years ago. The 8BA was out of a restored F1 pickup that ended up with Coyote swap. I snagged the motor for a future project and when the Pomona Panel came along I knew I was going to use that engine because it had a good look to it and I hoped it would run just as well! We ended up converting the 8BA ...

1956 Ford F100 Pickup SCORE!! We grabbed this great builder!
As we are based in Arizona, what Ford originally recommended to all dealers due to the heat was to just add 3-5 intake gaskets to make a phenolic spacer. It works great. But honestly Vapor lock is the Flathead Boogy man. It 9 times out of 10 isn't the problem. I have had it be bad carb issues all the way to the coils over heating. Because everyone wants to mount them to the head. Anyone that tells you they have vapor lock they have about 10 other things they need to check for before vapor lock is even addressed. Often it just isn't the real probllem.
That said you are 100% right to add those plugs. It is the first thing I do on any new build.

Absolutely!!
Please honor the legacy and hard work of the original owner to not hot rod that beautiful cabriolet! It’s too nice to undo all that fabulous work!
Thanks for your opinion!
@ Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion. Please don’t hold it against me if I don’t watch naughty behavior from you!😃
Congrats...that's a dandy
Thanks man!!
Looking forward to seeing this car on the road again! It’s been. While!
Thanks Layton!! It'll be good to get it cruisin' again!
That color is awesome! Was there any other special colors?
Thanks! I love it! Yes there were 4 colors, Desert Sand, Armory Green, Light Fast Maroon, and Bambalino Blue... I think they only ran for like 2-3 months then discontinued!
Very cool 🤙
Thank you!
What a Find!!! I have a Line on a Model A Sedan.
Awesome man, go dig it out!!
Great work on sharing, Nice car
Thank you!!
Great skills video...I'm needing to get after a few units myself. Thanks Chad!
Thanks man, holler if you need any help!
i like it
Thank you!!!
You might want to check the trans case for cracks where the cluster shaft passes through the case. When things "let go" and that cluster locked up with gear teeth between the cluster and second gear, something had to give. That case might be cracked at the front and rear. Check it out and look really good. Another thing, always use a 3/4" or a little smaller wood dowel to punch out the cluster shaft. Using a steel punch might distort the end of the cluster shaft and you'll have problems getting it out and installing it back in the case, not to mention leaks if you do get it back in. Nice video, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the heads up... no cracks in the case and the shaft went back in and the trans works great!
That’s the same problem I had with a 39 ford tranny I had back when I was 18 years old after buying a 39 cp tranny 60+ years ago after one race.
It's the Racing that's the problem, not the trans! LOL!!
@@chaddilacdesigns Aw one day where I raced one vehicle and 2et gear

Yea, I got so excited it was working I didn't notice! LOL!!
Thanks for the coverage of the show. At 8:03 I got to see the green ‘34 5w I chopped years ago here in Lake Havasu, AZ. Current owner changed the wheels, which I dig a lot. Glad to see it still on the road.
That's awesome man! Glad I got it for you to see in the video!! Thanks for watching!
Is this at Woolarock ?
Also , any info on when this will happen again. ? I can’t believe I missed this .
Yep at Frank Phillips Woolaroc museum and wildlife preserve... always the first weekend of October.
@@chaddilacdesigns thank you .
Great Video, Chaddilac! How is the quality of rods so high & consistent? Is it an invite only deal or something like that? ANW - possibly the best show on Earth?!!!
It is absolutely one of the greatest shows.. it is entry by submission and acceptance only, capped at 500 cars. They have a great following at only 5 shows in so it's pretty much the place to be for east coast and west coasters in October!
Super cool that you made it! I videoed your panel, but you were out and about, catch ya next time!!

Reparación pickup Ford 1938
How can I test a fuel pump. My engine fires up by pouring gas into the carb, but that's all.
Well there's a couple things that could be wrong... the first and easiest would be to swap out the fuel pump. To check it, pull your inlet line off and as it cranks and runs off gas put your finger over the inlet to see if it's sucks your finger toward it. If the pump has lost it's prime you can push air into the gas tank with your mouth or air chuck sealing the opening off, it will push gas into the sediment bowl. But it could also be the incorrect rod length or it could be the cam lobe worn down, depending on the motor and if it's used or new. If you take the fuel pump off the stand and reinstall it you can feel the pump as you install it you'll have to push the pump down, that will kinda tell you if you have the correct pump rod length. There are 2 lengths, the 8BA is just a slick rod, the 59A style has a small umbrella on it. Hope that helps a little, keep me posted on what your figure out! Chaddilac
I really enjoy your videos and I have learned a lot. Thank you. I have a question… I have a model t rear spring of unknown origin and I don’t know how far apart to place the mounts. Is there a method or formula that you use? Thanks in advance.
Hey thanks!! I would probably use a stock Model A spring hanger width. Also don't forget that the top of the spring is a different shape, so you'll need to compensate for that, if you just run the spring as is it will eventually rip out the crossmember. Hope that helps!
Thanks for this "how to" video!!! It was very helpfull!!!!
Awesome man!! Thanks!!
The open lip on the seal always goes towards the grease or bearing.
I agree, I thought about my wheel hubs and the grease seals on those when you slide them over the spindles or rear banjo axle... but I wanted that axle to slide into it without problem. Won't see much grease movement anyway. Thanks!
Awesome! These technical videos you create are great. Keep them coming...
Thanks a ton! I enjoy doing them! Pretty fun to share the stuff I've learned!
You need to say how much you paid for it! And how much you sell it for?
LOL, that's between Mike and the seller! But I think it found it's forever home as we're taking it to TROG in a week or so!! Look for the sweaty blacked out 3W coupe in the event coverage!
Muito bom!!!! Estou montando um AV8 aqui no Brazil e seu video foi bem útil!!!!
Wow!! that's awesome, let me know if you need any other help or are looking for parts!!
Not sure if i missed it, but did you say you were using 1/4 inch copper for the brake lines?
Yes all 1939-1948 Ford brake lines were 1/4", I did use copper on this car but I actually like the zinc coated lines better. I found that handling them when it was hot made them rust where my hand prints were. So I won't be buying copper again.
Better not keep running it like that anymore. Cool things down before start running without a radiator
it's fine!! we been driving that motor in the 34 coupe for 3 years now!
What about the timing lever and throttle? Stock model A light switch?
Did you see the name of the channel?? We're building hot rods not stockers! VIVA LA FLATHEAD!!
Of course it runs its a chevy.
Of course!!
Ever noticed people dont comprehend in the day you put a chevy in your ford! That ones period correct.
exactly.... I just read an article where Zora Arkus-Duntov (Ardun Flathead overhead cam conversions) was writing a letter in 1953 to the Chevrolet developers about doing a V8 that would grab the attention of hot rodders! Then in 1955... Chevrolet introduces the 265! He was also know as the "father of the corvette!"
