I don't want to see them cut in half, especially if you like them. I'd rather see how they hold up and break in. honestly, if you wanted to take them apart, see if you can find a cobbler who would allow you to record the boot being resoled. your channel is unique in that you highlight affordable boots for people who either can't, or won't spend $700 on a pair of boots. I have a couple of expensive custom boots from frank's, nick's, and white's, but buying boots like UWC makes me realize that you eventually reach a point of diminishing returns.
I think I commented on your video you did on the Alden’s awhile back but I’m going to say it again…😂 I’m an old timer and I have had a lot of boots… I’m retired but was an Engineer on the railroad and we were required to wear a 6” boot… I wish I would’ve known about Alden’s years ago because for me the absolute most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn…. As a matter of fact I’ve got three pair now…. I have other boots, like Grant Stones, Wolverines, Red Wings, etc. but no boot fits as comfortable as an Alden boot…. For me worth the money… You have a great looking pair there…. Excellent video buddy. … Enjoyed watching it….Im subscribed to your channel…👍Greg
Parkhurst has the best quality to price ratio (value) imo. 9/10+ on EVERY category! Every other boot on the market disappoints in some category like price, materials, last, construction... etc.
I just purchased a parkhurst. The price is what got my interest. Nicks and Viberg may hold the edge slightly in terms of quality but the price point is not close. Also not a fan of lengthy wait times for Nick. And not a fan of Vibergs return policy
@hemantishwaran5741 we are talking maybe a couple hundred dollars for extremely better quality and comfort. I think it's well worth it. I do agree the wait times suck unless you are getting a quick ship or find the right RTS boot. I'm not into Viberg though.
"I have a light switch and a door handle..." 😊. I'll come back later perhaps and click the thumbs-up, but I can do without cutting a boot in half. Weston I guess made his name doing it, but to me it's just wasteful. Again I'll comment that I like to see cobbler videos if a boot is to be destroyed -- they then put them back together again. That's just me, and I don't mind anyone thumping me from the peanut gallery. This was a nice video discussing a range of purchase options. In this grouping, Parkhurst for the unarguable win IMO, but you have to be willing and able to go to around $400. Nothing wrong with a pair of boots you like and that fit you for $150 - $200, though.
I love this video. Last time i was looking for an Alden indy they were $600. ( probably more now) Four UWC boots or one pair of Alden? No question UWC ftw.
For me Parkhurst is the #1 choice BUT you must get the fit right. I had to go down 2 full sizes from my sneaker size and now I love them, especially after they’re broken in… beautiful!
Full agree. I went half size down from Brannock on my first pair and they’re a little loose depending on the socks. Before ordering my next pair, I exchanged emails about sizing with Andrew, the owner, and he sent out a pair a full size down from Brannock for me to try on and they fit perfectly.
@ Yes, Andrew is awesome! The best actually. His customer service offering is amazing. He did the same for me until I found my correct sizing and ended up buying 3 more pairs.
I am against the cutting in half. I worry that would just get you compared to being a Rose Anvil knockoff. I’m not saying that you would be trying to imitate RA, but I worry that the comparison would be too easy since the cut-in-half videos are kind of their thing. From my own boot nerd viewer’s perspective, I like different channels because they each have their own character. Don’t get me wrong, I like Rose Anvil videos and Weston’s videos are probably the reason I got into boots. But your channel, along with Bootlosophy, Carl Murawski, Stridewise, and a few others each have their own take and it makes it much more interesting to watch boot content. That’s just my opinion, so take it for what it’s worth. Anyways, keep up the good work!
Ryan, I like your videos and I think you are on the path to getting bigger. Can I make one suggestion? Please upgrade your microphone setup, or add some baffles to room so your voice has less echo and hollowness. I know it costs money to do that stuff, but I think it would help your channel grow faster.
@@sschoon86 thanks for the suggestion, I’m looking into a dedicated microphone set up to hopefully help with that along with some audio editing software.
I’d rather see follow-ups on the boots than for you to destroy them. I like the boot cut up thing, too, but between rose anvil and cobblers doing recrafts, I see plenty of boot guts.
You get a lot with the urban wolf club boot. The Mexican based companies are making some higher end foot wear. I just ordered a pair of boots from Christian Daniel, similar to Parkhurst - it’s in viberg level finishing/quality. Love the look and style of the Alden, but for that price I opted for my Nicks Falcons.
Love my UWCs and Fernando is a master, but I really want to know the catch. I know LeFarc isn't the highest end tannery and the no name soles help a lot, but there is still no way those boots should be $150
Great video as usual Ryan. I really enjoy Parkhurst. I ordered Urban Wolf Club boots and they look great. Unfortunately I got the wrong size (they fit very small) and I cannot contact the company to see about a return or exchange, so that's really disappointing.
Ryan, those are nice boots and instinct would say don’t cut into them. That being said, they don’t really match your wardrobe and they only cost $150, so cut into them!
thought they (Dievier) were the best deal I could find out there, until I seen your UWC Colt boots review and had to get a pair as well. I think I might be done with boots for a while now ! 👍
It’s not the camera angles, it’s the audio that makes these dang near unwatchable. Man I love your boots but maybe skip the next pair and swing for a set of DJIs 🎉❤
Made in America does nothing for me , I work hard and I'm not a follower nor care what people think , I buy what looks good on me , style , built , leather is important , so grant stone China boot versus iron ranger America boot , it's no contest and should I stick with America, lol that's a bunch of bs from people who think like that , viberg awesome boot canada not America.
What good is “made in American “ if there using subpar materials? You’re just getting fleeced. The Alden boot is not worth $700 and the name is nothing without the quality!!!!

Wow the oiled nubuck on the UWCs looks amazing. Makes me tempted to get a pair myself.
Grant Stone would have been a worthy addition to this comparison line-up. Nice video!

naw nicks still has the best quality to price, especially if you get one on sale. both my Nicks I paid 550$ for, and one is black shruken bison

@hemantishwaran5741 you won't regret it
Parkhursts are amazing. Their Niagaras are what the Alden Indys should have been.
Hey great job on the channel. You're in my top 3 favorite boot channels now, with Dales Leatherworks and Bootlosophy.
@@jj4483love thanks so much!
I hereby give this video 500 likes! 😅 Seriously I agree with you the manufacturer's boot last is the number one reason to buy a specific brand.

Cut in half is a gimmick. You need to deconstruct it like a cobbler.

I gave you a like but don't cut the UWCs in half if you're enjoying/wearing them a lot! I can live with the mystery lol
I would cut in half new pair and keep the broken in pair

Don't cut em in half man!
What are yout thoughts on exotic leathers like kudu, bison, moose, kangaroo, reptile. And can you do a video of all the exotics you have?
I’m not a huge fan of exotics. I just not have a pair of shark skins. Maybe I’ll do a video on them.
Honestly I don’t recommend doing unless you have access to heavy duty bandsaw . Like the type they used to have in woodshop classes .
dont cut then,,,, i still liked the video.
Don’t cut boots in half please.
