Beware the goddamn launcher. The Steam and Xbox "games" are actually launchers that are packed full of bugs and glitches and for most people the download is so slow that it takes a COUPLE overnight downloads to get it all. This while the crappy launcher caused an error message and warning due to overheating my laptop, which is incredible considering the glacial pace of the download. When I finally fully downloaded, I was force-registered on Microsoft and my VERY FIRST attempt to launch got an error message that said I had violated their terms and services. Even in our Woke new age it's insane to get canceled between registration and first launch lol

One thing i would like to see is when flying with buddies to actually see the plane they are flying and not a 737 going Mach 2 when they are in a fighter jet. Sometimes the plane would show and other times it would not. I think the way they are building this cloud based should probably make this possible but i cannot speak for them. But it would be nice to implement this.

I hope they have improved on the synchronisation of model matching and animations for multiplayer aircraft. I don't expect them to make this work 100% for third party aircraft (correction a more realistic value would be 40), since those have their own external scripts and other code shenanigans going on outside the sim, but I hope that at least for the Inhouse/Asobo birds we don't get to see Airliners taxiing with no landing gear or the opposite in the air, stuck reversers, no strobes when they are needed and opposite or sounds not playing when they are appropriate. And lets not forget full wingflex while parked.

I'd like to see a working CTAF at airports or a UNICOM frequency so you can talk to other pilots in real time.

All the airports feel dead cause you have to turn down all the graphic settings to run it at a decent framerate. haha

unfortunately, they are only adding cirrus clouds and some color gradient changes. They are not fixing the awful cotton candy clouds that started at the same time they started the XBOX early releases

MCAS will indeed be represented in the aircraft since it's a fundamental part of the air vessel.

I don't get excited by many games these days but I'm definitely excited for MSFS 2024, it sounds like more of an upgrade than I expected! It's at the point where it's a world simulator now, and if we can get out of the plane and walk around then it will really make it feel immersive.

I cant wait for FS2024 and the 5090! It is hard to believe that the Flight Sim has become this incredibly advanced and realistic. It was a major disappointment 15 years ago when MS pulled out of the flight sim market. But, 2020 was well worth the wait and this is only getting better!

Great to hear your passion for gliders, gliders teaches you skills you won't gain anywhere else. My aviation experience started with gliders in New Zealand, I'm now 30 years into a aviation career as a helicopter pilot. The most valuable skills I gained from gliders was mountain flying.

Career Mode for me will mean as a Teenager going to Flying School getting your PPL first. Then you apply for contracts at Bush Flights somewhere in Africa or Other Destination building up your flying hours. Either flying tourists or Cargo between holiday destinations on the same continent. From a specific Flying Hours you can have many different Vacancies/Contracts you can sign with Airliners. As part of the requirements to fly for airliners is to have a certain amount of flying hours on a specific type of aircraft. Now that will be a decent Sim Experience as a Pilot in my humble opinion.

As to ships, I’m pretty sure they’ll just be displaying any vessel that’s broadcasting AIS, which is like ADSB for boats. Some smaller vessels do have AIS also as it’s a very useful tool. Popular with sailboats that cruise around as well. I know people with sailboats as small as 30’ broadcasting AIS, so I won’t be surprised if there’s a good variety of nautical activity represented. I just hope they do some basic model matching so my sailboat isn’t represented by the Titanic lol.

What shocked me a little was them saying they will model all the large objects in world as best to their ability. Something like a million objects such as wind turbines, electrical towers, radio towers etc. Will make VFR flying so much better I was so glad they are doing this.

The fact that we will be getting a lot of default airliners is great!
