Quest types and good habits for Sprouts | FFXIV New Players Guide
As someone who played SF2, Budokai and brawl. I will tell you my expeirence. Those were the only games i played without any community or online resources. As soon as i paid for Dragonball FighterZ, i played online and kept losing and losing and losing. I had to learn Everything from scratch and i still lost. Even when I asked for help, someone said "why are you doing SD on Wake up and DPs and attacks at FullScreen?" and my response was "what do all those words mean? I dont understand your question" and they freaking Laughed! My word of advice is to find a friendly community that has people who are actually nice and patient. I eventually learned how to play Guilty Gear Strive. the community is more friendly, but jesus it took a very long time to re-wire my brain and when i asked questions or had assumptions, they thought I wasn't listening. I WAS. but I was trying to Understand the WHYS and HOWS of the mechanics. ALSO. The wording of fighting game lingo is SO DAMN HARD to understand
This definitely brings up some concerns I had myself and kind of why I wanted to start making these kinds of videos. The biggest points of inspiration for me really are the fact that TYPICALLY in any “competitive” community, the better the player is… it tends to very unfortunately coincides with a larger ego and less welcoming personality. Ideally I’d like to harbor the helpful and good information, as well as just generally promote patience as a whole.
this video's so inspiring, i've entered online and offline tournaments and playing in them has been so fun even if i go 0-2
Thank you, I’m glad I could be any level of inspiration. And also, Hell yeah! There’s just something about playing in that sort of an organized format that really gets me amped and excited to play. Glad you’re also able to experience it!
Hey we're around the same level, i hover between floors 6 and 8 depending on how im feeling that day. Youre not far off being able to take a game in bracket, and im looking forward to seeing you do it! I remember being thrilled the first time i went 1-2
I'm stoked to keep trying, the hardest part right now has been lack of time. But I'm definitely not giving up, just might take longer than I first anticipated 😅 Current plans are to stream while I'm in my tournaments, and then make some sort of video sharing progress after attending.. or to some degree of this at least lol
oh hell naw bro you deserve more subs
lol hey I appreciate it. But, I've got to earn them first, but I really appreciate the support :) If there's any topic you think I should cover, definitely let me know, either here or in my discord.
Especially given I play Faust and he’s a rare character
I love having the name NzargnaABCDEF, I’ll be able to find myself easily
You've nailed it. 😂
Why not put NightWater? that seems unique enough
@@lamMeTV you make a great point. I may consider that, I tend to like having just the shorter form name when possible, but I do agree it probably makes more sense for ggst to use my full government name this time around 🤔
One of the former TOs for BAN here, appreciate the shout-out! It's a good community to hang out in even when you graduate.
@@cartierFGC hey no problem! It was a great time, and very welcoming. I greatly look forward to graduating out as well hopefully one of these days 😅

@@ScallywagYTtv looool that effectively sums up most of my tournament experience thus far… clueless but happy to be included lol
For me after tutorials and learning your character's kits, learning a basic combo and a safe blockstring is the next best thing to do. And it's still ridiculous that Strive doesn't have a frame advantage display option in training, but GBVS Rising and SF6 do lol.
Great tips for sure, and yeah it's super frustrating not having it.. just gotta go off feel or DustLoop I guess, pretty lame lol
I hover around floor 7-9 in tower. I struggle with whether or not I feel ready to play in tournaments. Should I just jump in and do it?
I'll put it this way... the only thing preventing you from the potential fun is you. I'm relaxing around floor 4-5 right now, and Tournaments have been one of the most exciting times I've had in almost any game I've played. Feel free to join my discord just to take the links I have to some of the beginner tournaments and ditch out. no pressure at all. and see if you can get into those just to give them a try. most of them are weekly, or just a couple times a month, so if you lose and get knocked out... no stress at all, just join up on the next one. 😁 I'd be stoked to hear about how it goes for you! And if you're too high rating on Puddle Farm, then that tells me you're way more ready than you might think. You got this.
@@Nightwatertv I appreciate the positivity, thank you
Absolutely. Just remember, losing is part of the adventure. You’re going to lose more than you win, but I’ll make those wins feel so much sweeter. 🫡
step 1 have tournaments hosted close enough to be allowed in bc no one plays on your servers and the american ones get 200+ ping
I'm seeing this as a much more common issue than I initially realized... 🙃 Hopefully one day I can help facilitate that sort of thing into happening more consistently. May not realistically be able to do it everywhere, but, hoping to see.
Entering any in-person tournament is 100% worth it for the community and energy alone
I can only imagine, I'm going to have to go an attend a few locals myself. We've got confirmed one or two fairly locally.
It’s how I ended up making some of the best friends in my adult life.
@@DecentPlayerNA hell yeah! That’s an awesome feeling.
Keep it up, love seeing people participate in tournaments! It's very fun and great way to get competitive
I appreciate it! The ones I’ve joined have been nothing short of a great time.
what exactly do you want to know about puddle farm?
Good question lol I guess more about what the variance is indicating. Making sure it's as straight forward as it actually seems, and what sort of rating indicates what. since there's not really a "medal system" per se, but just like Season 1 of Overwatch 1 style numbering system. But ultimately anything that anyone would like to share really, or if there's other information that can be used in tandem with it. :)
@@Nightwatertv The rating is pretty straightforward, ik that floor 10 is usually between 1300-1500 and then past that you're pretty much celestial. The + - I believe is the rough ballpark of where you're at, like at your best you perform like this or at your like this at your lowest. Also depending on which character you play and your "elo" you might be considered top #1000 on your character, or if you have really high "elo" top #1000 in the world. For more popular characters like Sol, Slayer, Pot, you require around ~1600 to be considered a top #1000 on your character, but for characters like Leo, Jacko, I-no, you only need ~800. I'm gonna use myself as an example, since I have almost 1900 elo on my slayer, I'm considered top #200. However I do want to say that these number's are not official, and don't really mean anything so you shouldn't really focus on them when playing.
@@Nightwatertv the variance is straightforward, yeah. More precisely, it's a 95% confidence interval. Though, it raises pretty quickly after breaks, in some people's eyes But I'd caution against trying to interpret any deep meaning from an individual rating. A lot of factors can influence a rating outside of raw skill: high variance games after a break, luck, opponents whose ratings are influenced by those same things, etc. And even skill isn't a linear thing. Especially at the beginner level, your skillset might let you easily beat the skillset of some player 300 points higher than you. There aren't really breakpoints where you can say "this is a floor 6's rating." They can be all over the place. You'll find people with 1000 rating anywhere from 5 to 10 often. And they get especially weird as you approach celestial. The celestial challenge creates a sort of walled garden of ratings. Because you can't fall out of celestial for an entire month, and it's quite hard to break in, it's like a mostly separate elo ecosystem up there. puddle farm also has an FAQ page that has some interesting info if you haven't already found it.
@@igobananas32o hey thanks, this is super helpful, I appreciate the insight! I’ve heard similar things about celestial but have mostly I think kept away from learning too much since it’s such a far way away for me, and have been mostly focusing on what’s right in front of me rather than the super lofty goals. Goal floor right now for my personal journey is aiming for floor level 8 as. But am stoked with whatever I manage to get in between then and now. I’ll go check out the FAQ for sure!
Yup there's a lot that can be learned in a tournament setting The lowest and highest levels both gain diffrent things from it
Agreed, suuuper valuable so far for me. I can't wait to see the difference in knowledge checks in my own matches going forward in more tournaments. Should be a very fun ride I think.
Step 1: Have good internet
And live close too. And by close I mean same country or close to each other.... Me living in Africa makes it hard joining tourneys. I'm even shocked how verix does tourneys. I just hope for more emea tourneys for beginners 😅
Step 2: Get an Ethernet cable
@@snowflake4108 I agree! Even when you have a good internet, location plays a huge factor. I live in Iceland, and despite my good internet, I most of the times have between 150-200ms against other europeans :/
Man that really sucks. Is there anything locally that goes on around you for fighting games? Living in the bubble of the US, thats not something I've ever really actively been made aware of, but hopefully maybe one of these days I'd like to help harbor communities in other regions so that everyone can still get at least similar levels of enjoyment out of games like this.
yeahhhhh this and the good internet comment. Sucks seeing there are people that would love to experience games like this but don't have access to good internet connections for online play against others/relatively close countries.
Dat Beserk ref in the background. Also, first.
THAAAAAANKS 😌
Sorry about the weird audio DURING the tournament portion, had bad Mic settings that I'm still working out even now. Thanks for watching, and let me know if there's any other information that you would like more info on! ❤
yes (:
Well hopefully I can help make them seem less difficult for new players, I think they’re personally no more difficult than any other game to learn once the general fundamentals are elaborated or explained in an understandable form. 😅
@@Nightwatertv only issue with fighting games compared to other games is that you need hundreds of hours before the game becomes 'playable' most casual/new players just wont invest that time if there isnt active enjoyment from it immediately, most other games give you a fun enjoyable experience while your learning however fighting games don't do that
@Raynfgc Idunno, league is sheer torture for the first couple hundred hours. I think the major thing that fighting games have for new players to deal with compared to most other fighting games is the reality that they’re actually not good… but they can’t avoid the truth by shoving blame over to team mates. It’s just you and your enemy in fighting games. If you lose, it’s because of you and only you. And I think that’s really difficult for a lot of players to internalize tbh. Also, Sajam had one of the best takes on this topic in a video recently, in my opinion.
@@Nightwatertv 100% this is super true a lot of people can't handle they aren't good and don't enjoy being punished because of that. League while it does have a learning curve like other games it has a 50% winrate matchmaking meaning you have a coinflip chance of winning, if you lose more the game compensates by giving you stronger teammates to make the games as balanced as possible, you can be one of the worst league players and still win 40% of the time where in fighting games if you're bad you literally will never see a victory screen, and with the improvement being 'sit in a training mode for 200 hours and learn x y z' doesnt incentivise people to play and continue past that beginner hump, i think lots of fighting games stuggle with this which will make 2xko interesting to see as its going to be super casual friendly and entertain people over the hump to the expense of things like motion inputs which people enjoy etc whole debacle (appreciate your responses) xoxo
@Raynfgc agreed, fully. I’m stoked to get my hands on 2XKO personally. And hopefully even outside of that I can help some of the new players feel less daunted by the “entry cost” of the time needed to get progress they can recognize. It’s a lofty goal, but I think I can at least help with inspiration if nothing else. 😅
Leverless >>> D-pad controller >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Stick. Unless you have some sort of special condition, Stick is objectively the worst option. The only reason they have been used so much is because they mimic the original arcade machine interface, but that design was never good either: imprecise, expensive, not ergonomic, prone to fail, hard to repair. Choose a leverless if you can, or keep the normal control pad, wich is already super good.
I would have to still argue that if top players competing are still using arcade stick and winning, the gap between the "best" controllers I can't imagine are THAT vast. I do definitely agree with the order of controllers, but I think generally this will matter significantly less for any players who want a competitive atmosphere but generally play casually. which is pretty fairly what you mentioned about it mimicking arcade machines.
Numpad notation is not universally good. Street fighter has its own notation that works comparably well, and for Tekken numpad is plain horrible. Numpad is important for reading dustloop and anime games content, because those communities have already adopted it as their standard... But I think the Tekken notation is fundamentally better: - it works for both player sides. - you only need 4 basic english words you already know if you use internet.
Very good to know, I have really mostly been surrounded by just the 2D fighter sphere, so this is news to me. I can definitely see how Numpad notation would be fairly ineffective for a game like Tekken though. the directional inputs are slightly different for the moves in that game right? more double taps of the same direction and such, is that correct?
The thing about numpad notation is that it can be applied to any motion. How would you denote Goldlewis’s moves without it? You could, but it would be cumbersome and would cause people to adopt numpad notation as a result anyway.
I'd especially agree when utilizing a visual representation of the motion isn't viable. Verbally is one thing, but in a lot of instances typing out a 412364 is easier than finding the correct arrow keys when typing things out rather than backwards half quarter circle + tap back or inaccurate ↺+←
The games aren't harder to play. The new people are too weak willed to spend time learning and perfecting the craft of the FGC.
lol this is definitely a take. I think coming at them from a new players perspective there's definitely an air to them that makes them seem more difficult than they are. I would tend to agree that they are not any harder than any other game, and are arguably EASIER to pick up and learn. I think that Sajam's videos talking about this topic is a great watch and hits the nail on the head for sure.
You got to play way simpler old games compared to the new overly complex bloated ones, its apples and oranges
@ let's see. Just for comparison, here are some older titles: -Marvel vs Capcom 2. -Street fighter III Third Strike. -Skullgirls. -Guilty Gear +R. Those are all older games, and still arguably much harder than newer titles today with tight, complicated, or long combos; difficult tech to master and struggle with; specifics of gameplay depending on the way the opponent wakes up; and cohesiveness amongst player types. Take for example, Guilty Gear: Strive - the move-sets, skill ceiling (more recently and with season 4 patch), game pace, and ranking system, are all designed around a modern era of semi-simplicity to entice more people to play the game. Yet people are still having a hard time. Learning fighting games is not intuitive, and most people fall off because when they enter online modes and get slammed by someone with 800+ hours, it is highly discouraging for the average casual to want to go back because you can't blame anyone else for the mistakes you have made in a match except yourself.
@@j2thedissle304 I agree that the older games are difficult for their own reasons, but arguably it feels like the reasons these older games were difficult was because of overall rougher controls, imbalances and strange movement. Now I can only speak from a perspective of watching these games and ingesting content from others about the topic, but I will say, I’d have a much lower likelyhood of wanting to learn a game if the controls in general didn’t feel intuitive. Another big facet that may be causing issues with players not wanting to get into fighting games is that these older games had been this way for so long, that even up until recently, it was my understanding that fighting games still felt the way these older games do, which initially turned me off of wanting to even try to play and learn in the first place. I feel like we’re still in the fairly early days of these “modern” fighting games and their easier inputs, and I think the sooner more people get their hands on them and realize it’s not as difficult to input combos as it once was… we may have a lot larger of a fighting game community.
8:40 exactly what happened to me I was put on floor 4 I am now a floor 1er lol
It feels ROUGH that first time. They dropped me in as fresh blood at floor 6... I WAS NOT READY lol Don't let it keep you down though! You'll fluctuate a ton, and some days you'll play way better than others. those early floors are all about getting clean inputs out, and intentional inputs. around floor 4 and 5 it's more all about stringing moves together, figuring out roman cancels, block strings and whiff punishing... AKA just general Bread and butters and a game plan. Everything above that from what I understand is just slowly perfecting it all and nailing down consistency. Just gotta take it one step at a time.
Fuck numpad notation. Most of the FGC doesn’t actually use it
This is super high quality content, excited for more FGC stuff in the future
Hey thanks! I appreciate it a lot. 🙂
After the tutorial and character moveset. I'd recommend a BnB combo and learn some Oki. If your character has a blockstring that is similar to your BnB combo, that'd even be better, so you can actually autopilot a little bit and focus more on making up a game plan, and apply some of your Oki. The rest should come naturally as you play. This is enough for most people to easily reach floor 8-9. For anti airing, just make sure you are actively thinking about it and it's probably better people learn anti airing ingame than in the labbing room. Playing more passively should help with learning anti air(beginner only advice, duh). You don't learn a whole bunch from a long session of playing, taking a break to remove any bad habit of that day is good, it also help with muscles memory. The more you play the more situational awareness comes to you, then you start understanding fighting game, and then you will be able to learn fighting game by yourself, at your own pace. There is no need for long optimal combos yet, but learning them can help improve your execution., so there's no need to shy away from them. Strive shouldn't give you any problem with most combos though 😅
This is great advice all very good points!
while that's good advice, I dont a beginner would know the concept of a BnB and OKI, or Blockstrings either. I think beginners need to know what they mean and Why they are effective and How they work. I dunno. That's just how i felt when i tried to learn fighting games. The lingo is what held me back. Yes i know there is a dictionary out there and I have used it, but for Actual beginners who just played a fighting game for the first time, Dont learn any combos. Just learn the basic controls first
floor 5? Easy prey.😈 Seriously though, keep up with Guilty Gear. I'm over 1K hours into Strive and I love it.😊
It's definitely one of my new favorite games atm! The grind has been a ton of fun the whole way through. I'm chilling at 702 +143 in puddle farm, my super short term goal was breaking 1000 just for self esteem reasons really. See you in some online tournaments! 😅
Hopefully you were inspired by this video, I look forward to my future with fighting games and hopefully it can help inspire some new comers into the scene! Social links are all in the description <3 Let me know if there's any other info I can help shed some light on for you if you're interested in trying out fighting games!
on the controller part, i SERIOUSLY recommend getting an arcade stick or trying one SOMEWHERE. it is significantly more intuitive and easier to use than a controller for 95% of people. leverless ONLY if you know you want leverless, regular pad if you have no other options.
Good point for sure, I do think Arcade stick would probably overall be the most intuitive. I think in other instances, there are people that have used console controllers for a very long time, and that might be the only other instance where pad might be the best overall option still.
...they're not just now popping off. You are just now getting into them and the algorithms that control what you see caught on to this.
I recognize there's definitely an increase in what the algorithm is going to feed up to me if I'm more recently checking out a topic, but views wise, and overall viewership appears to be hitting a more mainstream level once again, and it feels like it hasn't been this in your face thanks to so many creators from other categories taking part in these fairly large events. But I'd agree, I'm most likely just being fed more of the content that I would normally. But seeing creators like Eskay, Sykkuno, Lilypichu and Scarra, all the way to Artists and vtubers taking part in the Sajam Slam and actively wanting to stick to these games has been a real boon in the scene in my opinion. Though I'm sure other's may feel differently.
A big problem i had when i got into mk11 (and am sort of dealing with now as I'm preparing to get into ggst) is i fall in love with the design of a character and then that character turns out to be a zoner or keepaway character and I find that playstyle boring. if i got a nickle every time i wanted to play a character that uses blood magic and wields a scythe, only for them to turn out to be a zoner I'd have 2 nickles, which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice
Don't worry, I'm a sucker for himbo characters... and I found Sin and it's been curtains for me in GGST. I'm fine with being called a glue eater, but I definitely find myself automatically getting drawn into by rushdown characters. If you want a "blood magic" character that DOESN'T have a scythe and is not a zoner/keepaway character... but instead is a giant vampire Samurai... Nagoriuki might be right up your alley!
@@Nightwatertv GGST has so many intresting characters that i plan on trying out at least half of the cast, I'm just figuring out what order I'll try them in. As for the glue eating, i feel you, i main king in Tekken so believe me, i quite familiar with the taste of glue. (Also the reason why potempkin is gonna be the first one I'll be playing)
@@vikkstardoom2950 the loss of brain cells is well worth it for the exchange rate of fun! lol
i was initially really overwhelmed by trying to play fighting games on keyboard, so i just a cheap keyboard and ripped off the buttons so it resembled a leverless and that dumbed it down for me so i didn't fatfinger as often, it also builds muscle memory for when I'll get a leverless. ALSO I feel like you didn't address this very important detail when it comes to console controllers. DON'T use the joysticks, use the Dpad
This first point, honestly is exactly what I recommended to the friend I mentioned in the video that tested out my leverless. Prying off all the extra keycaps from a spare keyboard I feel like could be massively useful. Also, you make a great point, I agree the D-pad is more than likely the best option while on console controllers, I will say though I have heard there are players that play at a very high level using thumbsticks, so I'm not sure how deeply I want to press into warding people away from this. There's definitely a fine line I want to be cautious of. I'll definitely make mention of it in some fashion with the same context. maybe I could make an accessible short form video talking about this? 🤔
@@Nightwatertv the joystick isn't recommend because its analog so just normal directions could turn into diagonals because of the way you hold your controller, but you can probably iron that out with muscle memory, i think the more critical reason is stick drift, which might have the most impact in fighting games
MapleStory bgm and fighting games? it's my childhood and adulthood in one video
UA-cam algorithm putting in work! 😂 there's just something so soothing about the title bgm, it's stuck in my head constantly.
The most important about playing any fg online, being connected on ethernet.
Extremely true! I won't even bother fighting someone with red ping in GGST, it's just not an enjoyable experience...
That’s why crossover characters make games more successful! If you like Terry Bogard then your more likely to get into street fighter 6 or smash bros because of the recognition of a character you like
Hadn’t even thought of this until recently, I can now see how huge that is, especially if they have a fairly similar move set and you can more comfortably jump into using that character in another game. It only just clicked at how awesome that must be for those players.
@@Nightwatertv another popular smash player named Riddles plays Kazuya in smash because he plays Kazuya and Tekken and just recently started playing SF6 due to the fact that he plays Terry in smash
@@Lupinsamaa Stoked that there is that sort of an incentive to trying other fighting games, otherwise I can imagine there being a feeling of wanting to stick to only one for long periods of time rather than branching out for different experiences. I can feel that even now, I feel like I'm making some small amount of progress in GGST, so I'm reluctant to go and learn some more in SF6. In reality there's a lot of overlap of concepts, just some different mechanics.
@@Nightwatertv for awhile I only stuck to DBFZ then I branched out to Tekken and SF6
@@Lupinsamaa I think I'm going to get back into SF6 again fairly soon, and I've been being convinced to try out Tekken as well. I've heard great things overall.
Play whatever game you feel like playing Use whatever main you like using Use whatever controller you feel like using Seriously man.....
Very true, though we have to remember that sometimes people are going to see the options and may not be sure if there's a "best" option. The issue with providing too much of an open ended "use what you feel like using" can in some instances have people unsure if they are making the right decision and it could be enough of a barrier that prevents them from ever starting. I'm glad that this decision making process worked well for you though! but hopefully you can still see the value in assisting others with guiding them towards helpful information and aiding with decision making.
If you are on a PC you already have a hitbox controller on the keyboard... Just learn using that and if you dislike using the keyboard, then grab a PS5 controller (the Dpad is higher and, for me it's better) and give it a try. Also, use the training mode in the newer games coz this way you can test out the characters and see if they feel good to play. EX: I play GGST and SF6 and i'm a shoto by default so I play Ky and Ryu as they feel good to play.
True! Yeah I considered using my keyboard as a hitbox/leverless, but I was less worried about missing my movement inputs, and more worried about getting lost in the right handing buttons for each of the hits or macro keys. I would tend to agree though that if someone is super comfortable with keyboard, they’re bound to like leverless. Training mode I’d agree has been massive for me getting started. I’ve got probably a third or more of my playtime just in training mode, practicing inputs.
You touched on it near the end of the video, but the biggest advice I would give is to join your local scene and go to in-person events. Games in general are so much more fun when you know people that also play. I think I would've quit fighting games years ago if not for the community aspect.
I plan on touching on it more in my next video talking about it, but huge agree. And the community so far from what I have experienced has been nothing shy of awesome so far.
Back when I started 4-5 years ago I tried arcade stick super early, and it was actually a good motivator to keep playing cause the controller was so fun to use.
Similar case for me, I put a handful of hours in on controller and just said F it and bought a leverless, and it definitely made the experience that much more enjoyable.
Hitbox is way more enjoyable for me than stick. My hands thank me for it
New fighting game player about a week in, should I get a stick because it looks so much fun or a leverless because many people say its really comfortable and reduces hand cramps?
@@Narggie I wouldn’t worry much about cramps since any controller can do that to ya if you aren’t careful. So just pick what sounds more fun to move your character with, a clicky joy stick or 4 large buttons.
@@qualityart4004 thanks man I think I might just go stick
Regardless of difficulty the fun aspect is 100% the most important part of getting into a fighter. If youre enjoying yourself youll want to learn.
Agreed entirely!
The Hori pad, I think called the Octa or something, is really great. I want to try a hitbox. I used to emulate Neo-geo games and play with the keyboard, so I think I could like it
I really enjoy my Junk Food Micro leverless. I'm fairly used to and comfortable with moving my ring and middle fingers independently thanks to playing lots of MMO's on Keyboard and mouse, so the normal "issues" that some people experience when making the swap from other controllers thankfully didn't impact me in the same way. I'd highly recommend trying out a leverless if you're able to get your hands on one. The Haute42 is a fairly inexpensive option that I hear great things about, that can be purchased from Amazon!
Personally on the controller topic, keyboard is pretty much superior to controllers (exept maybe the leverless) it is basically a leverless controller but you dont spend 50-150$ on it (that you would also spend on a gamepad tbh), it gives you more controll and uses more of your hand and not just your thumbs, and its inredibely customizable - want WASD movement here you go, want a separate Jump button - here you go, want movement on your right hand - here you go, want ur hands close or far apart - not a problem. The only problem that i see with using a keyboard is going to locals and Lan tourneys cuz people usualy use consoles for those, but at that point you are probably engulfed into fighting games far enough to buy urself a leverless
Keyboard switches don't feel good to hit. They feel good to type on thou. Just get a leverless controller. It's a hobby.. treat yourself..
This does bring up some good points for sure! Definitely worth mentioning that keyboard is a great alternative to testing out if leverless is your next move. I think I forgot to mention it because I personally feel like I’d get lost in the sauce with all of the extra keys surrounding the bound buttons, but that’s not to say it would be everyone else’s experience. Thanks for the comment!
I’d agree for the most part, but I’d definitely remind you that they do make leverless controller that utilize “regular” keycaps and switches. Some people prefer the feel, so it shouldn’t be entirely overlooked. But, on the same note, treating yourself for your hobby is absolutely worth it if you’ve got the funds to do so, and can find the value in it!
@@oussamaokbi Meanwhile a lot of leverless controllers use keyboard switches.
Great video! I just got really into fighting games about a year ago myself. I hope this helps draw more people to the scene. My starting tips would be: 1. Pick a game and character you think is cool 2. Play the tutorial of the game. It will have valuable information you’ll want to know. 3. Play single player enough to get comfortable with your character’s moves and the basic movement/mechanics of the game 4. Learn one basic “bread and butter (bnb)” combo you can hit consistently. Doesn’t have to be flashy or big damage, just something you can do consistently. There are tons of online guides available on UA-cam to help find one. 5. Go online and play ranked. You may lose a lot at first, but that’s ok! You want to play people around your level to help you get better, so just be patient. Ranked will help you get the right matches once you get placed.
Agreed! These are some great tips and they cover a couple of the points I’m looking to make in my follow up video talking about this sort of thing. I appreciate it! A lot of these little things I agree shouldn’t be overlooked for how much they help out in the beginning. Definitely noting some of these things down to include when talking about the next steps, after landing on a game.
can u play against bots on this game??
There's two answers to this question. My instincts want to tell you "Yeah, everyone is playing as a robot" lol ... but to answer the question you're actually asking, no I don't believe so, at least not in the current iteration of the game.
Please note, this was recorded from my live stream before having played the game at all, so I was unfamiliar with a lot of the terminology (Grounded being one of the major ones) or how the game felt to play generally. Since then I've played during nearly every day of the play test testing out nearly all of the available hunters. Well those best in slot aren’t real they recommend t6 boots if u can use the one from BT that’s goes two gems in for more AP and some gears they recommended arent the bis
Yeah, it's been a little while since I've been looking at the TBC BiS itemization, now that it's been pushed on into Cata Classic. I'd also assume there are going to be some differences based on the patch for some servers that may still be around playing TBC.
For pvp man multilate I used faster wep on off hand and slower on main hand i wonder why using slower on off ?!?
If there was a good answer, SimonizeShow I'm sure has a great video describing the nuance, and numbers of it.
