Do you have any problems with the forward/reverse switch on the HPT? Some reviews have criticized it for being loose. Do you ever switch direction by accident? Has it ever switched by itself?

Spyder aint that bad. I like their reciprocating saw blades
You are comparing flex’s smallest to dewalts largest impact driver. Try the quick eject vs the new dewalt
No i'm comparing two impacts nearly identical in size to show the difference in ability. Yes the 845 at the time was dewalt flagship impact, and the flex compact is garbage. BUT THEY'RE EXTREMELY SIMILAR in size. Yeah I have the Flex 1371 it's MASSIVE and destroys the 845 in every way possible. Now that dewalt has released the 860 i'm currently testing it to compare to the 1371 and the milwaukee 2935 which are all in the same conversation power, size, speed and cost wise. I'm not a 'back yard' tester, i'm a tradesman and give my reviews based on using these tools on real life jobs and situations, IN ADDITION to trying to compare them on bench tests in the back yard or garage to show all tools off as closely as possible. Thanks for the comment, but you're trying to point out something that makes no sense to what the video was intended to do/show.
If i were to look for a drill that can drill 2 inch long 1/4 nuts through metal and wood. Is there a drill you'd recommend? Im very new to the field I've entered, and nobody can give me a direct or straight answer.
Well, maybe you're not getting a direct answer because there is no direct answer. There isn't a drill made specifically for '2" long 1/4" nuts? I'm assuming you mean lag bolts or something, nuts go on bolts and aren't 2" long. Thru metal and wood' you need to be more specific. Thru how much wood? Thru how thick metal? What kind of metal? That more has to deal with the proper drill bits over what drill will do it. Are you already on a battery platform? Do you own any brand already? How many of these holes do you need to drill? A one time thing? A dozen a day? Hundred a day for weeks on end? Is it indoor work? Outdoor work? Will you ever be drilling into concrete? I could list you endless drill that will complete that task(as best as I can tell from what your asking) some will do it a few times before running out of battery or heating up, some will run endlessly drilling hole after hole not being slowed at all, some will drill the hole in several seconds to minutes, some will do it instantly. Some will cost around $100 some will cost $500+ some won't last a year being used regularly some will last a lifetime....with a lifetime warranty to back it up. People need to know specifics to make a better suggestion. Take the time to give more details and you'll have a much better chance of getting a drill you'll be very happy with and complete the task needed for as long as you need it to work, as quickly as you'd like it done.
I have this tool and I like it but don’t love it. Cutting tall grass and weeds isn’t anywhere near as easy as shown in this video. Also, twigs and small pebbles are forever getting stuck in the blades. It’s not junk, but it’s not that special either. Overpriced, too, like all Makita products.
If it's not that easy, how am I doing it without issue? You can't force it thru the thick stuff, be patient, let the tool do the work. I do agree with things getting stuck, if you remove the tray meant to stop that, it'll happen when cutting too close to the ground, or trying to cut things that aren't meant to be cut, like twigs. I get mulch stuck in the blades trimming flower beds and it's def sketchy removing it with fingers alone, I usually grab some pliers when it happens. Everyone has their own opinion and I appreciate you sharing yours.
WOW! They're all bright! Was cool looking turning off like in a order.
You need a 173. The ring light can stay on for an hour!
Yeah? I've been holding out on ordering Japanese Makita and Hikoki, seems like buying almost the same thing. I get that the build quality is slightly better, maybe slightly more power or diff options. Going to wait for something completely new that I don't have the American version and order that way.

great video

Dang im a Lefty.
Found ya. Nice to be here at your channel.
Thank's Pro Tools.
Hi I just bought the flex vacuum it was $129 and you got a free 350 amp stack battery which is worth 179 alone. I don't understand flex every time I go to Lowe's every week they have tools on clearance and they're 60% off I feel that Lowe's might be dropping their line it doesn't make me feel good in the heart knowing that these nice tools are being sold so cheap but on the other hand I buy a lot of them when I see them on sale. Let me tell you about this tremendous vacuum I'll leave it in the back of my Mercedes van so I can always keep it clean when I throw my crap in the back and have trash days where I have to take bags of trash off the job site if you use a 2.5 volt battery it will work fine but I will tell you if you put a 10 amp battery and that thing it will work like it's supercharged or turbocharged The thing just sings away really loud and the suction is much more incredibly stronger so there you go the bigger the battery the faster that thing will work now I'm talking about going from a 2.5 amp regular battery to a 10 amp stack battery I don't necessarily know if you need to put a 10 amp stack battery cuz it makes a little bit heavy but I'm sure if you put a 6 amp stack or an 8 amp battery it will work good too anyway it's a super good tool but the way they're selling these tools where you buy the vacuum for $129 and they give you $179 battery for free all these prices are just insane it doesn't leave me comfortable that the company is going to be in business or possibly Lowe's is dropping their line I'm looking forward to hopefully on clearance the tripod light that's 249 coming down in price My store where I live has eight of them they've been there for 3 months they haven't sold a one I can see them up in the top and I asked the guys that do the flex there and they all own flex now cuz they get them on clearance too they said the lights haven't moved at all they're too expensive but it's a great light so I'm waiting for the light to go on clearance and the radio. I bought the rear handle saw that was 399 for $209 on Amazon. Now two weeks ago Lowe's had it on clearance for $159 that was the kit with the charger and a 10 amp battery I kept the bat two batteries I bought two saws I kept the two batteries and I sold the saws with the charger for $159 what I paid for them and they gave you a $300 battery. See this is ridiculous this is not what I understand how does the company make money doing this. Why is Lowe's dumping all these things.
It looks comparable to the DeWalt DCR028, which sounds good doesn’t really distort at high volume.
A 60% bigger battery is heavier... What?
The professional apples to oranges comparer... Are you just a paid shill or bad at comparisons?
Subscribed. M12 is my favorite platform, but not sure I can justify this one. Already have the M12 Rocket Light and it is fantastic. Will put up a review soon. Love that it takes 110v as well as m12 batteries.
The hammer drill base is like that for vibration control
Yup. Thanks.
Have it's a power house with the POWER STACK BATTERIES and the 9 AMP FLEX VOLT Have the new DEWALT XR 8 amp POWER PACK on ORDER
Ok. Sorry i'm not understanding the comment.
Was thinking about getting the oil impulse and was looking for comparisons with other Makita impacts. I really want one now but holding it for an updated version
Yeah i've got my fingers crossed for an XGT model, nothing found in the patents by anyone, so it won't be anytime soon. With Dewalt releasing their first similar and Milwaukee rumours of an updated surge Makita better get on it.
How does this compare the the N1804DB stapler? The DB is more compact and cheaper, but does it perform the same?
Ah, I wish I had a better answer for you, but I don't own the DB, I toyed around with it for about an hour and a 1k shots a few weeks back. It's more compact, it's lighter, but not in a super good way. I hate using the word 'cheap' but it just felt, not flimsy, but not beefy, felt like if it came off a 6' ladder it wouldn't fair well when i've dropped the DA off a stair landing 12' and it was unphased. It's MHPT, but it's their DIY/home owner entry level nailer/stapler. If it's constant heavy use, I just don't think it'll hold up.
My clock is so tiny & doesnt stay on in standby bluetooth volume control dont work either 😡
Sounds like warranty time. This one has taken it's abuse so far, running perfectly day one.
@@ProToolsApproved i think the australian version is just shit 🤷♂️ i called milwaukee sydney head office & i asked if it supposed to have bluetooth volume sync & a small clock & they said dunno just return it 😮💨 thanks milwaukee
You don't show tje battery level,and speed😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh please. I'm not that particular to show that every time. Batteries are full, speeds are set equal, period. This isn't amateur hour over here, everything is set equal and charged unless otherwise noted.
excellent demonstration
Thank you!
thank you for reviewing
Thank you for sending! It was over 100°F out my way, and extremely humid this weekend after a very long week working outside, I was exhausted from the work and barely able to move this weekend. I wanted to film something filmed. After I use the saw this week at work in somewhat slightly cooler weather, i'll refilm and update the review and re post. Thank you Mellif!!!
@@ProToolsApproved Have a good rest.

That's my complaint, too 😅
I'm curious to see how it does this season. The acorns were small last year, they'll be large and plentiful this year.
Nibble nibble💪
I believe all saws do this. Most blame the tool but mostly it's the user
Do what?
🥵🥵💪🏻💪🏻🛠️nice work, 💪🏻💪🏻
Great video!
Thanks! Appreciate the comment.
Solid review
Thank you appreciate it. Please sub if you haven't, i'm no pro at making reviews, but I try to get a little better each time.
I have had a hitachi ( Metabo) drill and was very disappointed in the power and being able to hold a bit securely. The drill bits would come loose regularly so bought the Dewalt DCD709 which impressed me then recently bought DCD796 which was more powerful then the DCD709. Both Dewalts are a joy so the Hitachi I will give it away as it has been a waste of money. Sorry no Hitachi Hikoki or Metabo drills for me. End of story. Diy'er form UK.
And that's why there are diff brands of everything out there. We all have our preferences, likes, dislikes, etc. Out of curiosity, what model MetaboHPT/Hitachi is it? I have a particular one in mind, it was known for being extremely underpowered, I had it for a while myself and gave it away also, plastic chuck, very 'entry level'
I noticed how the newer 12 volt hammer has screws to access the inside? How is the hammer feature on that bad boy?
It's great for it's size, I mean, keep your expectations real. You're not gonna run 1/2" anchors 4" deep with this without destroying the drill. Smaller anchors, tapcons it's quick/fast without putting huge hard vibrations on your hand/wrist/body. Perfect for overhead/high work where you don't want to be lifting a big tool to set small fasteners. At the same time, let's be real, it's a Milwaukee FUEL, my personal opinions about fan boys aside, if you needed to set a semi large/large fastener in a pinch, with the right battery and patience, it'll do it, it'll run in a fastener made for larger voltage full size hammer drills. It won't do it fast, it won't do multiple all day, it's not what it's made for, but in a pinch as I said, it'll step up and punch above it's weight class to get you out of a jam.
@ProToolsApproved Yeah I used to do drive pins and tap cons all day. Now I just get into the concrete every now and then. I was sold on the half inch chuck on this drill and the hammer drill was a bonus!
Are they lockable with deadbolt!?
With a padlock? Yes.
Where is the hole for the padlock!? Is the hole for the padlock not metal lined like the rest of the 2.0 pack out
Thanks for the review, it’s helped me decide to get one of these. Should be here tomorrow, same one as yours with grass shears and hedge trimmer blades, and it’s not badly priced for just the body only (I’ve got loads of 18v batteries).
Awesome! Let me know how you like it!
@@ProToolsApproved I’ve tried it a couple of times since I got it, I tried the grass shears and they were okay, but for me I’ll mainly be using the hedger attachment, as it seems to be the better option for what I’ll be using it for. I’ll mainly be using it in some raised beds and small areas where weeds grow, as well as some shrubs. But, for the main hedge I’ll use my 36v makita hedger (that’s a great I’ve of kit too). Combined with the 36v brush cutter, I’ve got a good selection of garden equipment that does what I need it to do.
One of the few criticisms I have of the milwaukee is that I think the footing or whatever it’s called is too absent at the center. It can ruin small cuts. I otherwise love it.
Def agreed with you. I wish they were closer to the blade. Trying to trim a bit off of something or an existing 'hole' make it hard. I just experienced it this week.
Absolutely agree. I wish there were closer to the blade on both sides. I experienced that problem just this week on a few cuts.
Volts don’t equal watts
I'm aware. Prob just stumbling over my words. We all make mistakes.
Got a sub from me man good work
Appreciate it VERY MUCH! Closing in on that 1k goal. Only took two years. Ha ha ha ha ha. Thanks again! I'm always open to suggestions on testing/reviews. I try to keep up on new tools when released. The new Milwaukee 6.5 blade left circular saw is coming when released mid month, a Dewalt DCF860 is on it's way from over seas as well as a Japanese model XGT second generation impact driver. I usually post quick bench top ' take a look at this ' videos when I get them, then full reviews after I use them in the field long enough to make an honest opinion of them. No 'garage reviews' here, real world, real usage reporting.
any tool will break, even the Makita.
Didn't say the Makita will last a lifetime did I?
I used Makita tools and they are amazing. I want it so bad! Im already invested in dewalt and milwaukee m12 tools, but when Makita update this hydraulic impact driver I am jumping on it! More power and add that beautiful halo light!
Awesome to hear! Let me know what you think of it! I have more Milwaukee and Dewalt than Makita, only because it's more easily available and at the time Makita still seems to be playing catch up or focusing more on XGT here in the US. They were my first 'big boy brand' when I upgraded from what I was using when I first started. It'll take a lot from another brand to take Makita away as my favorite impact/drill drivers.
🛠️🛠️😎😎💪🏻💪🏻

Looks power full
I wish I could barrow one to try. If it would work on these screws I been given. My impact’s are killing them they flex twist do a little everything. The only way they don’t get crazy is in gear 1 then it want halfway drive them. Hate Philips screws the worst I have ever had to use, but that is what I was given to use on the job.
Are they stainless steel? I had a recent job that required all stainless hardware and was having the same issue. They were very soft and snapping all the heads off. Switched to a drill instead of an impact to set them. The constant torque was easier on them vs the harder impact hits. If that's not an option try pre drilling the holes if they don't exist, or pre drill them out a tad larger if they already exist.
