Good hill climbers. I have an SR500 and thought many times about buying an XT500 with a good rolling chassis and a totally trashed motor so I could switch the engine between my SR an XT depending on my mood.

That black paint on the fork clamps is going to chip off. You need to sand it before painting. I’ve had issues with chipping even with thorough sanding so I can’t see that paint lasting long at all

Cool build! The sheeps furr seatcover made me think of a old big Enduro bike I saw one year attending the annual Motorcycle trade show. It was parked right by one of the main entrences. I remember it, becouse of the White furr handguard/warmers. The things looked like Yeti hands. ( Background info, The fair is usualy held in February. With freezing temperatures and or a feet of snow/slush on the ground You get a free pass to the fair if you get there by bike, lol ) Thanks for sharing , cool build. I would probably edit out my license plate, just case you were not aware you showed it not terribly far in. Especially as a smaller channel without huge resources, you want to protect yourself as much as possible from being doxed.

can you put street tires on one of these? I'm about to move to a new apartment complex early 2025 that is like 4/5 miles from my job. I wanna get one of these and pretty much ride it as a daily and I'll just drive my GR86 to work on rainy days
