This lookout is in Montana but I think finding it is half the adventure so I won't share the location. This video should have enough clues to get you pointed in the right direction.
Thanks for keeping the location to yourselves, as the last few first-come, first-served lookouts are really special. That said, I just wanted to note that the lookout isn’t abandoned. It gets regular maintenance from the forest service, and a bunch of local people. The country librarian does a lot of the maintenance, chopped the firewood you found, and left the Christmas lights for visitors. Thanks for the awesome footage, and maintaining the magic.
Not sure it is abandoned...looks like you found chopped firewood, pots and pans, etc. It is probably just shuttered for the winter when they don’t staff lookouts. Maybe change the title to “vacant lookout” so others don’t inadvertently trespass on off season lookouts and leave the place trashed thinking it doesn’t matter

I've watched quite a few fire watchtower videos, and this place might be one of, if not the best watchtower location I've seen yet. The snow and weather adds quite a dramatic flair to the site also. Not only the "best place to spend the night" but the best place to spend your day also. Great video!
