If you want to cut to the chase, music starts at 1:30...
Manhattan Morning is also good. That is a re-do of an older Flash Banks era song.
Fourth, fifth album. How I wish that happened
love this.lifetime is my fav bassline
Still challenging to listen to and also fresh and distinctive sounding. Not 70's re-hash.
LOVED Flash. Great job guys.
Drummer is no Mike Hough.
Mike was invited to the reunion but declined.
I love the song but this is a horrible recording of it.
It's a rehearsal-first run-through with the new lineup-recorded on a little digital camera.
There's nothing wrong with this recording. Singing is spot on key, the playing is tight.... MInd you, I would have loved to have seen Tony Kaye on keyboards but the guy playing the hammond is just nailing it... Well done.
Sounds wonderful, even the new guys! This would have been an excellent reforming of the band, but I assume it never made it too far as I never heard anymore. Good to see Ray and Colin doing some new stuff more recently!
Colin, it's good to hear you voice again. If you ever will perform in LA let me know.. Mish-KaS fretless bass ---------- SOHO.
Great !!! I have these guys from the 70's. Still sound super. Thanks for posting.
Wow! I loved this. Great intro, and then kicks in just awesomely! Nice vocals too! :o)
Thanks, Jimmer. You're one of the few people in the world who have heard this tune….so far. This album, a compilation of Rays work spanning more than 20 years, got little distribution and NO promotion when it was originally released back in 2001 on his small UK label Voiceprint. Ray will be reissuing it soon. Cheers!
When is Flash coming to New york . Thanks Bob
+oregonbobv Nothing booked at the moment, Bob. Thanks for asking.

FLASH NIGHT VISION Great video for NIGHT VISION, from the latest FLASH album!
thanks Sherry,these are always cool!
This is a good album Flash rocks.Colin Carter and Ray Bennett you guys rock Iike the CD.
Great video! I always admired Ray Bennett. His bass playing could equal if not better anything by Squire. Too bad Bennett, Carter and the rest of the original line up didn't get the recognition they deserved. When the first LP came out, people accused Banks and Kaye of exploiting their roots with Yes but, my god, the roots were theirs too and they had just as much right to that sound as Anderson and all the rest. To me, Kaye made a terrible mistake by not joining Flash as a full time member. He had the Yes pedigree so why not milk it? Instead he formed Badger, with, I suspect, encouragement from Anderson and Squire who probably didn't want to see him team up with Banks.
..better than Squire? Maybe? I just like how Squire's bass stands out to people who do not play the bass. This bass doesn't seem to stand out but you could be right?
Keon Crosswell this live performance has Wayne Carver on bass, not Ray Bennett. Ray plays bass in the studio and on the new CD. Too bad he's only got two hands!
oh ok I get it
Great to see that Carter and Bennett finally got the band back on the march again. But I feel it was far too late - 37 years or so, is way too long for a band who never saw that much action, or had that much of a fanbase, to be inactive. And they had way too little experience in the studio to really develop a strong identity, or on the live circuit to establish a really strong following. My god, they were good, though!! If only they had been able to take on the estimable services of Yes's Eddie Offord and Tony Colton as engineer and producer (on Time And A Word), to rein in their more outlandish flights of fancy and say 'look, this really doesn't work', 'these vocals could do with being more finely harmonised and not so flat', or 'this bit is boring or tedious, and is going to work against the album's longevity in people's minds' - all these things and more did the band no favours. They clearly had the ability and the individuality to rise and soar on wings of fire around the entire planet, but it all got dissipated by a lack of direction and poor management. Whereas they could and should have been one of those bands in the rarefied shortlist that people always namecheck when listing prog giants - Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Van der Graaf Generator, ELP, Jethro Tull, Family, Greenslade, Todd Rundgren and, personally at least, Caravan, Camel, Starcastle, Stardrive, Rare Bird, Fields and Refugee. There have been no greater bands in the entire history of rock, and Flash should have been up there with them in the top bracket. Bye, Peter - thank you so very much for the small but vital legacy of great music and memories. The flame I always carried in my heart for Flash was never quite bright enough to illuminate the dark corners of unreceptive minds. But the music is made for ever, and will be discovered and appreciated by future generations through this miracle we are now so fortunate to have at our fingertips... if the gathering forces of recessive primitivism currently threatening to wipe out all technological progress and enlightenment around the world aren't crushed out of existence before they can succeed. (I hadn't intended for this to be a soap box mouthpiece for a political message, but... there's nothing more dangerous than a 13th century mindset with access to 21st century technology. Fare thee well, starship envoys of the future, and let the music of our hard-won freedom inform and guide you safely across the vast void of the cosmos. You are all truly Children Of The Universe).
Reads like you watched the last 15 minutes of the COSMOS series finally. If you didn't ,check it out and you will hear why. :)

To Terry Platt: I can tell you Ray and Colin don't make music because of anything other than the pure desire to do it. Therefore, it can never be "too late." Thanks for all the kind words and appreciation. Ray has said he, too, was dissatisfied with a lot of their early efforts. This is another chance to do it better, maybe even "soar on wings of fire." We'll see. That's always the intention...
Thanks for posting Sherry. It sounds like Flash of 1972 all over again, and I'm still 19 at heart, in a 60 yr. old body. It's great to be alive and hear great new music from Bands of my youth. thanks for posting Sherry. I subscribed to your channel Sherry. Please keep me posted of Flash doing any touring in NY/NJ area. Peace, Phil

Thanks for posting this live footage from 2010, Sherry. Keep me posted if they are going to be touring in the NY/ NJ market. They sounded in great form at this concert.
Thanks for posting this fantastic, prog recording of Hurt. After hearing Cash's version, and the original NIN version, I did not expect a third excellent take of the song. Even without The late Peter Banks, Flash sounds like the band that I caught twice in 1972, I was impressed with them then, and 41 yrs. later, they sound great. Thanks for informing me of the new release by these great Prog rockers of my youth.
Absolute genius!!!!! Flash is simply amazing.
Learning and growing as musicians is a blessing; to have this second chance as grown men is even better. Listening to the new Flash is perhaps more inspirational, because it is not a re-hash of their first work. Fans who came to Flash through Yes, as I did, should support this new work because of it's musical quality. It contains much of the strength of playing and composition that drew fans to Flash and Yes, and yet it has also developed it's own identity. This is good music and not nostalgia.
Appreciate the kind words, Steve. These guys deserve it, if anyone does.
This is a heartwarming video for any fan of Flash and of Yes. Because Music lasts longer than the personalities of who made the music. Some musicians continue to learn and grow through out their life, and it appears that Ray Bennett and Colin Carter now carry on and improve on the Flash of 1972-73. They were young men who had the good fortune to make good music from their very first album; and they had the musicals skills to further develop their songwriting. Support their 2nd chance. Buy it.
I predict this song will hit #1 in Europe. This country is to into three cord wonders and talentless rap artists to understand what Flash is doing. These men are geniuses. Amazing talent!!!
Good stuff sherrynoland thanks for putting bthis up.
Update: Regretfully, Peter Banks did eventually pass-away on 03-07-2013 at age 65 just 3 years after Sherry's post above. Peter was an amazingly gifted Guitarist whose unique musical talent and genius made a profound everlasting impact upon progressive rock. Just like the wealth of musical treasure he left behind for us all to enjoy his spirit will endure for all eternity.

Amazing. I love Flash. They are a group of extraordinary artist's.
I love Cash's version, too. And quite a few people have already said they like this version. It's certainly not "just noise." That's going a bit too far, don't you think? If you don't like it, fine, but no need to insult the effort or other's opinions. It's some highly respected, great musicians doing it the way they feel it with all the skill they've got. Did you like Trent's original version?
After Cash's version... why bother? This is just noise.
Peter made it impossible, my friend. It was truly a shame, but I'm so glad Ray and Colin finally realized there was unfinished Flash business and decided to carry on. Check out the new Flash facebook page at facebook/FlashFeaturingRayBennettColinCarter
Thanks for spreading the word, Steve. This is an amazing and phenomenal reunion after so many years and serves as an example for us all! Be on the lookout for the tour...
I am now an official fan of the new incarnation of Flash. I went to FYE(for your entertainmant) and ordered the CD. I also talked to the guy that works there about Flash. He never heard of Flash, but he knew who Yes was. He was impressed and said he would check them out(Flash). I am gonna try to get him to play Hurt when it comes in. Maybe the hardcore fans should go to the record stores and spread the word there and also mention the Yes connection. This can't hurt Flash. Pardon the pun.
And the fans are just as important, Steve. Without them the music dies. We all do our part to allow good music to survive. Flash is counting on all of us, for them to go on.
Yes, I did get it and it is great! I think this tune will do very well on the radio. I am planning on getting the CD this coming weekend. I think you are as big a help to flash as the musicians. Promotion is just as much as the music. Keep up the good work and may the band enjoy a huge amount of sucess with this album, as well as any upcoming efforts.
Thanks, Steve. You DO know this is a track from the new CD released by Cleopatra Records, right? I sent you a notice. Did you get it? Ray just finished a shorter version of Hurt for radio play, but hasn't given it to the record co. yet. Other tracks from the CD have already gotten some airplay and it's just getting started! Yes a BIG comeback! Forty years between albums has to be some kind of record-pardon the pun!! You can buy the CD at amazon.com.
Thanks, Sherry for sending me the vid to this tune. Is Flash gonna put this out for radio play? I think it is high quality. Very good chord progressions in this. The band is very tight and strong. I wouldn't doubt if Flash gets nominated for comeback band of the year. Flash is one of my all time favorite bands mostly because of their 2nd album and i am happy to support you in this effort. Sherry, you are a big help to the promo of Flash. Give yourself a pat on the back!
Thanks Sherry. I've been getting your updates and been really looking forward to this. Slainte. And RIP Peter Banks. I've gotta get this.
Sherry, thanks! It's been a long time since I heard this. Saw the original Flash with Peter Banks at the Capital Theater in Pasaic NJ in like 1972ish sandwiched between Flo & Eddie and Chuck Berry believe it or not. I was recently saddened to hear of Peter Banks passing. Hope the band gets to the NY area.
I will be buying the CD, watching this vid has really whet my appetite !! I totally agree with MusicMan73790's comments. Ray is a real guitar hero and he makes it look so easy. So good to hear Colin's vocals again, he has always been my favourite prog rock crooner. This sounds just like it was jammed in the 70s, I hope the new CD captures a similar vibe.
It's great to see that Flash has reunited. I went to see them in the early seventies and the concert was cancelled because of technical difficulties. Talk about disappointed. At last however, I hope to see them again this time for real and savor the music. They are a great group of musicians.
Life is good. prog is alive. dreamy journeys are begun again. Thanks for this.
It's official...the release date for the new Flash CD is May 21st on Cleopatra Records. Title-"FLASH featuring Ray Bennett and Colin Carter." At last!!! We were all shocked and saddened to hear that the brilliant former Flash and Yes guitarist, Peter Banks, died last week. We're told he heard three tracks from the new CD and liked them very much, especially the cover of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. Hard to believe he's gone...
