    Definitely not heavy weight 12s, these probably weigh less than the 8" block I lay. In S. FL. code will not allow the use of light weight blocks of any size. On a wall like this with lightweight 12s, I could lay 600 to 800 block a day (since as all masons know) 12s are easier to lay than 8s, they're just heavier. And with a setup like this where you are working in the shade all day, I could do it without breaking a sweat.

    I'm not trying to be cynical. But wouldn't it be better to have your tracks running parallel with the trench so you can just back up a bit when you need to dig the next section? I'm a complete newbie to these machines so I'm keen to understand the reasons why people do what they do

    I noticed there are two different versions. One with the kit and one without the kit. The saw that comes with the kit (shown in your video) has a smaller/shorter black battery cover. The one sold individually has a taller black battery cover. Seems like they were able to cut some costs with the kit version to offer the whole kit for an attractive price. Not sure which one i should get...

    You are my #1 resource I turned to for learning to build my block wall, I did the wet set method, and the string lines between the H block with the nails and everything, I’m finally almost finished with my wall now and even after laying approx 350 feet of block I’m still amazed how much faster you are at it than I can be lol. Fun just looking back over these videos and seeing what else I can pick up on now that I have more experience doing it. Thank you again for these videos!

      @SolidworksUnlimited 2 місяці тому

      Cover the plywood with a tyvek or tarpaper, staple it on with a hammer tacker, then install a flashing at the top of the area desired to have stone so water never gets behind your stone, then lathe the wall with a 1/4 inch wire lathe, then buy some type s mortar mix at home depot Lowes, or a hardware store, then add water to it then mix it to a manageable slump the put the mortar on the back of clean stone and stick it to the wall, try and keep the joints consistently the same size, clean excess mortar off with a brush as the mortar starts to dry, in a nutshell that's the jist of it.

    Just to help so professionally you should use pan head Galvanized 1 1/4 screws When screwing, you should not sink the screws and leave a quarter Inch roughly never make the mesh tight like your over stapling . Always do the cups up. If you use Staples again, you make sure it's not tight. So the mud can get behind the mesh . It's just the professional way of doing it. But you did a very good job.Its better and correct and will last long without cracking for all the viewers

      The septic is on the end of the house, so we had to have slope from the far end, also the top of the tank is only about 3.5 feet below dirt grade so the trench is quite deep because of that.

    They're just not THAT great. Nothing genius about the design, and nothing special about the execution. I'm surprised these thing are selling for more than their component parts are worth used, since the best way to utilize this crap is to dismantle it completely and make a fixed installation. At least Jeff Carpoff is doing 30 years for perpetrating the entire scam, and the US taxpayer is getting back maybe 10% of the money he defrauded the government out of.

    I looked for an update but I didn’t see any? I have a 55hp farm tractor and I was thinking of trying to move a few similar sized spruce trees this fall. Did yours do well after this?

      No, they all died but 1 and the one that survived was alot smaller, spruce trees might do better if your able to keep the root ball together, I moved some 12 foot tall spruce several years ago and their still alive.

    Looks great. Why the white wrap with the steel mesh on the back and straight against the foundation on the side with no wrap or steel mesh.? I'm a rookie so just wondering why the difference.?

    How can you bring the cobblestone back to life, I like it when it appears to be wet; showing off the colors of the rocks?? thank you, Mrs. Thompson

      There's a product your family might have made it's called Thompson water seal, gives the stone a wet look. You should look into it. 😎

    Why do you pour concrete inside the posts ?, I've never seen this done before.

      Makes them much more sturdy and snow and rain won't go down them and rust them out. I would need to cap the posts if I didn't fill them.
