I find that doing 64 by 64 pixels is a million times easier for me to do than doing 16 by 16 or 32 by 32 mainly bc I like adding allot of details but It's difficult to do so if the space is too small
Great video thank you so much! Something Id like to add from my own experience, more is less. Especially when dealing with smaller bit sprites like 16bit. Don't stress yourself out by trying to figure out how to get the elbows or knees to bend, or trying to get the angle of the feet right. Nobody is going to be looking for 100% anatomically accurate muscle or joint movements.
YOU ROCK !!!
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He died for our sins God is love.
The nose bounce looks terrible... when it is so zoomed in. But when I make the video super small it looks good. Exaggeration is different at different scales, a good lesson to rmemeber!
These are good videos. I wish the creator carried on!
Hi, I am a little bit late but i wanted to ask what software you use?
and walking forward
copied goodgis with thumbnail💀
I'm an artist in a game development internship. This video saved my life! You'll be in my will when I'm gone! /j
real😂
Before you start drawing. Look at pictures of either photos or other drawings of the thing you want to draw. Just to get some inspiration and get the proportions or anatomy of the thing. Then start to visualize and start with a simple single color silhouette. Then add base colors where needed. Then start shading. And don't forget to once in a while take a look at your drawing from a distance to see how it would look in the intended resolution. Add a background and even better.
Why did you stop uploading videos? Did something happened?
Well done, im thinking im gonna use this art style for a game, that is once i can make a game 😅
Thank you so much, this video is the most beginner friendly thing I’ve found, I finally feel like I understand what’s going on hope to see more videos soon!
how do i do a walk cycle for a character without legs?, ive been wanting to make a game where the character is a pear but its a pain to make it walk
Something to note is these are conditional. Like the outline tip. I tend to outline important things such as characters, important items, and things the payer will collide with. Background details like those acorns, clouds, flowers etc, that aren’t going to be interacted with if you are playing a game or arn’t important to be in focus on in a overall scene don’t get an outline. This helps the important stuff obvious while keeping the less important things in the background. You can also use a color other than black for the outline that matches the colors used, (such as a dark yellow for the key, a grey for the bunny, or a dark green for the tree,) this will make it a softer edge. Speaking of which if you want something to look manufactured or mechanical having those sharp corners help. This is also good for spikes. It’s all situational and you will learn when to apply these things and when not to the more you practice.
Great video! Without nose bouncing, and yes, please do more videos. Thank you.
I am trying my best before I get completely blind thank you for your assist

Another tip is for assets use real world image references like for trees, swords etc. Seems to better help make the look and feel of them much better at least for me if did. I have only shared one pixel art on my Instagram hahaha as of yet but will eventually share a game I am working on with my kids! Love your videos great Work 👍🏼
