Ford Raptor Solo Overlanding Trip | South Carolina Adventure Route | SCAR Trails & Events - EP: 2
Finally the second episode is out!
After my short pitstop in Kentucky for the wakeup trail I needed. I get to experience a large portion of the South Carolina Adventure Route. I drove the majority of segments 1, 2, and 3.
I did hop off the trail to go to the wedding I was down there for. And I also jumped off the trail to go visit the coast in Charleston, SC.
I would HIGHLY recommend checking this trail out if you haven't already! I will tell you that it is not challenging, or "exciting" in comparison to some of the trails in Colorado, Utah, or the PNW. HOWEVER, that doesn't take away from getting out to the beautiful scenery that South Carolina offers the East Coast. I haven't experienced a place like this yet.

First F150 RAPTOR in the World With This Overland Setup | Update | Specs | Plans

Super excited to bring you an update for the Raptor! To my understanding, there are no other Ford F150 Raptors that have had an Alu-Cab mounted on them. There are other F150's with this setup, however I have yet to see a raptor with one. In 2022 they released a full size version of their canopy campers. Called the Alu-Cabin. I am excited to try it out on the raptor and see how she does! Yes the...

This was NOT sponsored, and I DID purchase this with my own money. Definitely a game changer if you are unable to use your rear view mirror for any reason! Its the best quality that I have personally experienced! Purchase Links: Wolfbox G900 Dashcam: amzn.to/3Wl...

2014 Ford F-150 Raptor Overlanding Edition After being asked about my overlanding/camping setup on the truck, decided it was just easiest to make a video showing everything that is on the truck currently. The Calm Before the Storm meaning that this rig is getting a full overhaul in the next month on its ENTIRE exterior overlanding/camping setup. So I wanted to get a video out answering everyone...

    Reasons to have the exhaust modified to drop ahead of the rear axle. It sounds better(especially if you gave the entire path reworked with SS to a duel with a tiny H-pipe and remove the cats), and gives you clearance to add skid plates if youre that worried.

    A good habit would to be to turn the key from the passenger side if you ever remove and install a new airbag. I saw your face there when you were returning the key and it made me cringe. I’ve seen some bad things happen so I always turn the key on the passenger side with my face out-of-the-way lol! Great, definitely going to do this

    It appears you did not wire up the reverse light trigger wire. ?? That wire makes the camera view change when in reverse and give you parking lines too.

    • @jurassic_overland
      @jurassic_overland 5 місяців тому

      You are correct. I did not. As I stated. I’m really only using this is a rear view mirror. Not a backup camera. Therefore. I don’t want the parking lines. And it lives in the rear camera view anyways. So I don’t need it to change when it goes into reverse. I still have the factory backup camera on the truck. And that works significantly better as a backup camera

    Which rack are you running that you mounted your tent to, and how did it mount above your tonneau cover? I’m looking for one that can mount via T- bolts, and I like how your tent sits below or flush with your roof line.

    • @jurassic_overland

      It’s a front and rear dash cam. And yes you can wire it to only turn the rear camera on when you put it in reverse

    • @ericg6306
      @ericg6306 5 місяців тому

      I believe it records continuously, that setting just changes how long each file is. It makes the file sizes more manageable. A 4K + 2.5K recording file of an hour or more would be a HUGE file.

    Hopefully someone will come up with a 3rd brakelight camera combo instead of placing a camera on the rear tailgate or tag... tacky to me

    • @jurassic_overland
      @jurassic_overland 9 місяців тому

      You can easily mount it wherever you want. I have a camper on the bed of the truck. So the third brake light area is useless. That’s why it has the image angle that it does. But that’s also why I mainly got this. So that I could actually see behind me. Not for backup up, but for normal driving.

    The video for the rear camera starts to move in a wavy form when I turn the music volume all the way up. When dial it down then it goes back to normal. Any idea why? None of the cables are touching any metal part of the car.

    Did you use a generic mounting plate? With the current Wolfbox plate you can't leave those plastic and rubber pieces in the rear mounting points, they would be in the way. You also have to reuse the screws that you remove because they only supply screws for the swivel mount.
