I wish this game was on ps4. I’d play the shit out of this game.

Fuck with the amount of players or the artillery leave that stuff alone. Leave the basis of the game. That’s on there now. Alone add more nations. Add more vehicles. Add more weapons. Add more maps invest in the graphics things like that. Is what the company needs to do instead of being lazy and doing little shit here and there, but people wanting to take away artillery. No that’s part of that error. That’s part of the game. They need to start adding more things to it. This is how you take a good game that could be potential to build up to something really good. That’s how you start fucking it up when you start taking key components out of the game

Very helpful video. I hear people arguing about it all the time. As squad lead i would just agree with them because i didnt know and it almost never actually influenced how we were playing the game.

Trying out this game and honestly rifleman is the best one suited to my playstyle atm. I can protect/help my squad without saying a word and having a good time. As a long time bf player I dont know what the hell a node is but I shoot well enough and play the objectives. Enjoyed the vid!

Man, one thing I do wish this game did is make engineers their own unit that can communicate directly with command rather than squad leads. It would make a more cohesive way to communicate and build defenses for the entire team than just for a unit. And it makes more sense doing it that way since what the engineers do is done for the entire team.

The game is way more broken than this video lets on. You talk about building and different penetration etc. Trying to get supplies to even build to level 2 in most games is impossible. No one ever plays support in my squad. Commanders and Squad leaders in most games are just completely useless and don't give orders, don't talk etc etc. Don't answer my requests of supplies or orders. Players just leaving you behind and driving off with the transport trucks, making you have to wait for an OP or garrison or just run 2k to the point only to be shot by players waiting for such unfortunate players, who have literally had their death warrant signed by their own selfish or oblivious team mates. The game is a joke. It's way too heavily reliant on communication when most of the players who play it are morons who don't communicate. I've completely stopped playing it after reaching around rank 35, for these reasons. The game is just frustration and very rarely any fun. You're talking about adding mortars to the game when there is a multitude of indirect fire already. That's insane. Games are supposed to be fun. All HLL is, is a frustration death simulator. The only way to actually have any fun playing this game is to not play as a team, ignore everyone and camp in flanking positions catching advancing enemies off guard in their own territory. which is probably why no one is talking. The game only works in theory.

Shout out to my fellow medic players just Rember nobody wants to play medic but every one wants a medic. I see you keep up the good gameplay we truly are the unsung heroes.

With the upgradeable mortar I would set light mortar to 250 m with up to 10 m dispersion medium mortar to 475 m with up to 15 m dispersion and heavy mortar to 725 m with up to 30 m dispersion (min dispersion on all being 5 m or so as well as damage radius of 2 m 3m and 5 m respectively and the dispersion widening as distance increases from 5m to respective max so people can’t “mortar snipe” from across the map)

One myth that maybe isn't very popular, is that if you place a garrison on the enemy HQ which is closer to the last point, enemies lose the HQ spawn. In reality Enemies lose their HQ spawn when you start capping the point.

This is the big divide within the community. You have guys like this who want every nuanced facet and detail integrated into the game. This is what S44 is for and for the last 5 years it has seen a steady player base of less than ~500. It will continue to do so because it is not a game that is accessible, neither is it fun to sip water to replenish stamina every few minutes. HLL on the other hand has a fine mix of arcade and hardcore, sprinkled with some aspects of realism. HLL is NOT a mil-sim, it is not S44, and I hope it never becomes that. HLL is its own vibe and feel and even new players stick with this title because of its replayability. Although, I do agree some changes need to be made, but placing videos like this and hyper focusing on realism versus functionality is what detracts the devs from helping them focus on what the game truly needs. What is that? Well, for one, we need to finish fixing QOL issues. I won't go into it here, but I've spent the last 5 years providing PTE feedback, seldom to any improvement. With this recent team deleting comments and suggestions and taking criticism with the maturity level of a middle schooler, it will be a far cry before we see anything WE want really implemented.

Edits & Updates: 1. #35 regarding who can see the marks revealed by the recon elements. I misspeak here as I meant to only refer to the recon plane and recon vehicle. These two work as stated in the video. However, ALL players can see what the recon flares reveal.

Hmm, I am nearly certain I see recon results even when I am not the support class. I'll have to start playing again and confirm, but I usually play Assault and recall seeing recon results. Busted Steam America ?

A couple of small things I've learned from playing that I've never seen anyone point out before is that you can destroy an airhead with a grenade the same as an outpost, and you can almost instantly destroy a garrison with a flamethrower.

23:10 This is a great idea, specially for the MG class... Theres too many maps where theres almost no spots to put your MG and the ground is full of grass making it near unusable, so a small sandbag to use your bipod, even if while crouching only, would be amazingly good. Make it so it doesnt require supplies and you only have 1 or 2 at a time and voilá.

19:04 I agree bullet penetration should be consistent, but I disagree on the bullet penetration on engineer buildings for two reasons 1.- It would greatly discourage building barricades if there was bullet penetration on them, making them even more rare ingame. 2.- Logs aren't that weak. Wood planks, doors, window frames, surely would let a bullet through but a thick barricade made of two rows of logs? Not so easy. Theres a Mythbusters episode about shooting trees to cut them down where you can see they're quite tough. I think getting to destroy buildings in a single hit with bombardments or artillery could also discourage building them,. Perhaps a "damage" effect would be a nice middleground, IE having barricades get progressively damaged by tank cannons, artillery, bombardments etc until they dissappear.

lmao, its so funny to hear "turning the engine off repairs the tank quicker" and i may be partly responsible me and some of my buddies used to tell tankers this back in 2019 because we was tired of being run over by them when repairing. (This was back when there was no blowtorch in the game, and only AT players and Engineers could repair the tanks with the wrench) I heard this myth get carried on a few years after but i must admit i havent heard it for a very long time, very funny
