The Husqvarna 5 Series is Junk ???
Us current 400 owners will just have to wait for the updated 462 in a few years. The new 400 is just an improved 362. The compact and light almost 70cc saw, will be gone...for now. Current 462 is chubby.
You can never be too prepared. We are on the same page, my friend. It get crazy in Louisiana too sometimes, even gets cold.
@@saltrock9642 yeah arctic blast coming after thanksgiving. Thanks for watching
Wood is my primary but when it gets down to 0 or so I also run my pellet stove. Keeps the back part of my house warm and back bathroom from freezing. I put a heat lamp in my pump house and that's usually good enough. When it gets that cold I keep a few faucets in my house hot and cold trickling. Good stuff stay warm!
@@tedneitzel how much snow did you get ?
@@oakeymt.outdoors Couple inces so far but pretty soon there will be a ton.
Im guessing the cheaper rounds are fine!
@@tedneitzel they are but it didn't look like it on camera. UA-cam always suppresses those kind of videos. Thanks Ted
Stihl has a muffler mod 😮
Back when 2 stroke oil was just 30wt😂 most clone saws recommend 16-32 to 1 oil mix still😂
Agreed 💯👍🏿 but just a couple of unscientific observations: mice can burp/fart but it's more of a slow release, not like humans lol. Also, the salt in baking soda attracts mice, adding anything is not really important. Helpful, but not necessary. Ditto for water. All mammals have natural fluids in the stomach. Adding a bowl of water close by is nice but again, not necessary. ❤😂 JMO feel free to disagree and happy hunting 🤙🏿🤙🏿
Baking soda taste bland so adding something to the mix helps . You also need to remove any other food source. That way the baking soda mix will attract them more than what they was eating. The water was put in there so someone did not try to disprove my experiment. Thanks for watching
Surprised me with full throttle between cuts from a pro!
So is it for sale, just want it for a bb rifle.

I thought the Stihl would have cut much faster......ugh
There was a video posted today and from what I'm seeing.....all of the metal reinforcements throughout the saw have been reduced. This to me says that it's not going to last the test of time with true hard use. I picked up a 400cm from buxton work saws and after a porting & muffler mod....this saw will out perform even my 592xp. Put in a 461 oiler and you have a saw that weighs less than a 500i and pulls better too. Its the perfect "do all" chainsaw thats still uparmored to last the test of time. In my opinion, its the best saw out there right now. Its going to become a cult classic after its discontinued and will probably sell online for 2-3k easily.
Allt has aoty its not even close
😂😂😂you are afraid? It looks like a joke
Nice wood!
I saw a pretty neat trick when I had a tire plugged recently. Using the tire plug tool without a handle, install it into a drill. Load a plug into the tool and slowly drill it into the tire and hole, down to just before the plug. Then push it down into the tire and plug the hole. No need to use the other tool to rough it up and kill yourself trying to drive it into the tire. Pretty slick.
@@1966poker I will have to try that next time
@ I have spent close to 50 years doing it the hard way obviously. Young man at the tire shop taught me a new lesson. lol. 😂
Looks like some beautiful firewood!
@@tedneitzel yeah I'm going to go back and get some. It's just been to hot here for November
What’s up fellas
@@OutsidewithScheib how's you been ?
Used for years years on my work shoes I wore at the factory
Your going to kill that saw in no time, why not just get a vertical log splitter?
@@woodfarmer8413 I have one. As long as you let the saw cool after the cut it's fine. Been doing it for years
wouldn't it be funny if the paint lasted longer?
I dislike crunchy cheap adjusters!
Yeah that one not going to last long
Did something happen to your OEM one or did you get a saw with one missing? I had never seen how these bar nuts fit in so thanks for showing that as well!
I got that saw the other day for $150 and it was missing the clutch cover and bar
Did you run up there and give them some extra money?
@@jasongeorge8725 nope lol
I bought 3 of these T435s cheap as non running saws. Originally bought 2 but the cost of that clutch cover/break handle had me just buy a 3rd saw cheap off eBay to have as a parts saw. All 3 have great cylinders and pistons. 1 had a bad coil and the other was just gummed up really bad and had a partially melted clutch cover. Had both running great in no time by swapping good parts. After pricing a new clutch cover and finding it hard to get a couple parts for these saws from Husqvarna I just bought a 3rd saw for parts. I keep the 2 complete saws in my trucks. They are really compact and handy little saws. Both run great and cut well. Sad that these are current production saws but you can’t get parts for them readily and those parts you can get are expensive as all get out.
Awesome looks like it will work!
cannot imagine how it could be bad. Of course, I have been bit before with cheap parts. Husqvarna wants a lot of $$$ for the OEM one!
Good video. Since you have both a 545 and the 550xp do you know if the 550xp top cover will fit the 545?
@@1966poker yes top cover is the same .
Lol. Can I borrow your dog and peanut butter ? 😂 😂😂
@@teewheeler7347 no lol
Good man for joining that search👍👍
You better grab more saws before these new tariffs kick in!
@tomwilliams5408 I want another 400c. This will be the last year of that model. The new 400.1 is taking its place and the 362. Stihl will only have 1 saw in the 60cc range for next year
Well that was #@$_$#@
You're a nut
@@cindymendenhall7994 lol
So after a year what is your thoughts on those 3 saws?
@brackenprofaizer2601 they all good saws. 500i is awesome but I find myself using the 400c more than the other two.
@@oakeymt.outdoors that’s interesting I just bought the 400 last Saturday I have 3 cords cut on it I like the weight of it. But I was really struggling to chose between the 400 and 562. Mark II
@brackenprofaizer2601 the 400 is lighter and has more torque in bigger wood. The 562 has the chain speed of the 400 but in the big wood the 400 will out cut it. Unfortunately this will be the last year of that version of the 400c
@@oakeymt.outdoors that’s the main reason I went with the 400 i Hurd they are changing the design whereas the 562 Mark ii just came out
thank you for proving that your mixture works! god bless!
@janicesmyth2183 thanks for watching
The 362 is on sale in my area, I think about 10% off, clearing out inventory?

Looks like you got a great deal! Good little saw!
@tedneitzel it's ran good so far. I will have to see the quality of the after market clutch cover when it gets here
@oakeymt.outdoors That will be interesting keep us informed!
@tedneitzel will do. Tracking says it will be here Friday
5 series Husky definitely fast saw, but with blunt chain u running risk to over-heat your saw...
You should go back here, tie caution tape on the starting tree and walk down the logging trails until you find where the smell is coming from
@KathyA-gi5iz I may go back up there and search more.
The XP series is just a good looking saw. Husqvarna hit a home run with the style.
Hello everyone
@bentwedgestanleybrand5818 hello Stanley
Did you have to richen up the carb settings ?
@jaysonsetzer2287 no the saw set It's self after a few cuts

I have the same rifle and I’m struggling to find the correct ammo. I’ve tried Winchester 150’s in Deer Season XP (best 100 yard grouping was 1.8”) and Winchester 150’s in Copper Impact (best 100 yard group was 4.3”). I have competitively shot rifle and pistol for about 35 years. I was utilizing a three point bench and bags, and aiming at a 1”x1” paste. I can consistently shoot sub MOA, but not with my Gen 2 Ranch .308. I will try the Hornady 168’s Black and some Hornady 165’s tomorrow and see how it works out. Thx a bunch.
@vinson6337 I found it likes the 180 federal too.
@ Copy that. My goal today is to “crack this code”. I will post my findings. BTW I’ve got the Gen 1 Ranch in .350 Legend. It is ammo picky as well. The Winchester Deer Season XP in 150 grain proved to hold 1.5” at 100 yards very consistently. I was satisfied with that grouping from that caliber.
@vinson6337 I got a 7 pointer with my ranch this morning. The federal 180gr dropped him in his tracks
@ YES!!! Awesome!! Had deer for breakfast! I’m on my way to several ammo stores now. 👍
@vinson6337 I got a gen 1 predator with a 18" barrel and it shots everything pretty good. But the ranch with the 16" barrel only likes the heavier bullets. I went with the federal power shok 180gr. Because they easier to find in my area. Let me know what you find that groups good in your
