    I've owned some of Stihl's legendary saws the o28 o38 044 056 just to name a few each were prime examples of performance

    Should have made a 400i, for $1200 retail price! Brand name doesn't mean much to me. I want the most bang for my buck. Dont care what name is on the side.

      Not worth it money wise for them, the 500i covers it all in weight and size, a jack of all trades, from 60 to 90cc, its a saw that can run 20 inch balanced yet it can pull a 36 or 42 with authority. Not the best stat wise on the extremes as its still a bit heavier than a 60cc top class saw and a bit underpowered compared to the 90s. 60cc class dont sell enough to be worth the injection system at a competitive price . But this new MS 363 (official name) seems to fit the 60cc role well based on stats and feedback from euro forums, while keeping the price low.

    There was a video posted today and from what I'm seeing.....all of the metal reinforcements throughout the saw have been reduced. This to me says that it's not going to last the test of time with true hard use.
    I picked up a 400cm from buxton work saws and after a porting & muffler mod....this saw will out perform even my 592xp. Put in a 461 oiler and you have a saw that weighs less than a 500i and pulls better too. Its the perfect "do all" chainsaw thats still uparmored to last the test of time. In my opinion, its the best saw out there right now. Its going to become a cult classic after its discontinued and will probably sell online for 2-3k easily.

    What I hear is this is marketing and cost cutting. The 400 has the better rep so they are naming the new 362 replacement the ‘new’ 400 and eliminating the actual position of the 400. Don’t be fooled it’s a 363 with the 400 name for marketing purposes. Damn shame they aren’t holding onto the big bore mag piston design, I’m sure it would be a dream to run.

    The 362 is on sale in my area, I think about 10% off, clearing out inventory?

    Wish theyd of just left the ms400c alone. I can understand em retiring the ms362,but everyone raves about the ms400c. I dont want stihl to become gimmicky and change their lineup everytime the wind blows. Saws like the 044,066,090,261 are classics and the 400 was destined to join them,but probably not if it's only gonna be made for four years.

      I've just started watching this video, so maybe they'll address what I'm about to bring up, not sure. I don't have a 400, but I've got friends that do. By replacing the current 400, I'm hoping that they either replaced, or upgraded the oiler that they've been using on the current 400. Numerous people have told me that the oilers on their 400's are junk. Other than that, they liked them. So, I hope for the future 400 purchasers, I hope they changed/upgraded their existing oilers on the new ones. I personally would rather use my 462 or 500. But that's just my personal preference.

      @@JeffGeorgalas I run a 20,25,and 28" bar on my ms400 without problems,but the oiler is all the way up. It's just a leftover from it being the same platform as the 362 and the 362 wasnt ever intended to run more than a 25" bar. With a 25" bar I've cut stuff 36" thick easy. I dont wanna move anything any bigger than that. If the oiler is a dealbreaker you can install a 462 oiler or for half that price,just change the guts out. I'm fine with my oem oiler after almost 2 years. I've not had any chain,bar or sprocket problems

      The oiler is the same as the 362 oiler, no it’s not junk it just doesn’t slobber oil all over with a 25-28” bar. I have a 400 and 362 and they both oil enough just not what some people like.

    So thei get rid of two decent saws to replace it with one gutless saw,Stupid! Now if they were smart they would do a few simple upgrades and keep the 400 and get rid of the 462 garbage pile.

      @@JeffGeorgalas Meaning?

    • @JeffGeorgalas
      @JeffGeorgalas Місяць тому

      Meaning that the 462 is tried and true. There are literally tens of thousands of them in use right now. I'll bet you can't find five bad reviews of them on UA-cam. If they were bad saws, there would be evidence EVERYWHERE to support that.
      Also, Stihl sells far fewer 362's than any of their other professional line of saws. It makes no sense for them to continue selling two saws that are in the same segment when one will cover that niche.

    • @oakeymt.outdoors
      @oakeymt.outdoors  Місяць тому +2

      @JeffGeorgalas the 462 is a different class saw . We was talking about the 400c and 362. They went more towards a revamped 362 than a 400c by the cc.
