Harbor Freight Cargo Trailer Restoration
Picked up this trailer to use for hauling steel for bike builds as well as other large items such as 4' x 8' sheets of plywood using my hybrid RAV4. It was in really rough shape but has good bones!

Welding table and cart in one! Built this table to help me improve the precision of my upcoming custom bike & trike builds, and to save space in our one-car garage. This is my first upload in 13 years! The rest of the videos on my channel are from a 17-year-old Chase. Moving forward you can expect more videos of this quality of better! TT11 Fairing Explaination & Tour Pics
Переглядів 6 тис.13 років тому
I wanted to explain why the fiberglass fairing didn't work as many were confused. In the end, the real reason why it didn't work was because it was chopped strand fiberglass (sprayed up mold) which was much, much too heavy and floppy to work for a fairing. 10 Years later update: If you're going to make a fiberglass/carbon fairing, integrate everything. Make a monocoque velomobile instead of sep...

Velomobile Fairing Update 2
Переглядів 6 тис.13 років тому
Sorry for the watermark, its from the 3gp to wmv converter I used. Today I put expanding foam into the low spots on the top of the fairing and sanded them down, giving us the curve we want! Today I also started reducing the track width of my trike by 4 inches, but the welder wasn't working. I will post pics of that on our website. www.eternalcycleworks.com

    yo chase, why not go with classical holes in the table for jigs, fixturing? Nice to see you in front of the camera after all those years . Do you have personal shop space now?

    • @eternalcycleworks
      @eternalcycleworks 8 місяців тому

      Hey Adam! I did not have a way to cut holes in the top without getting the table plasma, waterjet or laser cut. I thought about using a hole saw but that seemed like a big PITA. The slots let me use my angle grinder to cut them out and I can use just about any clamp in the shop to affix things to the table. The shop space I have is just what you see - a single-car garage. It's tight but I'm making it work. Stoked to see your company taking off!!

    I see by looking at your steering arms there's no Ackerman compensation. That will make the wheels to steer wrong on turns and grind tyres. At wheels straight ahead position, those steering arms must point to where the rear axle is in the centre of the vehicle. Wether a quad or a tadpole trike, this makes smooth steering on turns. All vehicles with 2 steering wheels have it. It would be an easy mod to adjust on your bike.

    • @eternalcycleworks
      @eternalcycleworks 3 роки тому

      The ackermann compensation is achieved by locating the pivots along the line you described. Check the video again and you'll see that it was not forgotten 😉

    Sounds like whoever it is in the background only uses the machine when you're talking, listen sharply, it seemed every-time you spoke they used the machine to try and drown you out; I think i'd prefer to higher off the ground, we have bad roads and loads of those traffic humps on roads, I don't want to hitting them with the base of my spine at 50 mph coming down a hill.

    Thank you! I'm gathering info on a planned trike. This is helpful for sure. Got any ideas for front suspension? Welding gives off very high doses of UV-C (harmful radiation). Cover your skin!

    I would get the donor bikes at a thrift store or your local scrap metal yard. They are almost giving them away. You paied way too much for the donor bikes $180 yikes!

    • @RHawkAdventures
      @RHawkAdventures 6 років тому

      with junk donor bike you end up with junk. You the buy new spokes tires tubes bearings etc. cost adds up. Yes junk donors are the best option for pro typing. but build you finished bike with good stuff.

    awesome, how did you know so much to do this ? I have about 15 bikes I scrounged from dumpster diving. All types, kiddie bikes, mountain bikes and 15 speed full size bikes. I have all the tools, angle grinder, belt sander, elec. steel hack saw, mig welder, But where to begin ? I want it to be correct the first time around. Low resistance as possible so I won't get tired. I am re-tired (no pun ) !Thanks

    Looks good so far. I'm finding it's hard to get used bikes cheap anymore. Used to get them cheap at garage sales. Now with the Internet, everyone sells online for almost new prices. Mise well buy and cut up a new one. Thanks for the video

      for adult size bikes, yeah getting scarce at good prices. I've noticed 12" and 16" kids bikes are quite often left out for council cleanups a LOT in some suburbs though - usually just flat tires and a little surface rust from sitting in a shed for a decade. Now who's going to complain about a free bike even if it's just to grab the wheels, handle bars, brake parts, etc? Good for donor parts, if you don't just clean up the better ones to donate
