I don't think you know how impressive it is what you accomplished. What you did is really, really, really hard to do -- there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many design considerations involved. Having an idea, and then doing it --- especially one as complicated as that is a BIG deal!!!! Your new friend (whoever he is), was possibly not your wisest choice of friend. He said a lot of things that were really unkind. I know you learned a lot and I hope you are doing really well. You should be exceptionally proud of yourself.
Wow, thank you!! :D I had a blast building it as I always loved designing cars and have a passion for bicycles. The fairing was simply too large for this project though. Adam is a great guy - he was actually encouraging me to try and make it work until I told him I wanted to make something like his. It was all in good fun :)
Fiberglass works fine, providing it is the right thickness, use composite mounts, etc The shape is nice, refine it, make a mold, learn by making small scale models.
I was also seriously considering molding fiberglass for the fairing, but for the one that I am getting ready to build, I decided against using fiberglass and using canvas instead, like is used on the Jeep wranglers.
I'm so glad we took this vid, EPIC times!
Adam

Grat Video!! Glad you finally got it working.
@triketrek11 well Chase, actually the lexan was more like 0.3mm, 3mm is HUGE!

If you still have the old fairing, re-enforse it, and build another trike for it. Once its all done, sell it on craigslist.
@triketrek11 Are you guys pedaling up the hills with or without electric assist? May I ask what your velomobiles weigh?
you can learn by ur mistakes dude keep your good work. and try again. :-)
Fiberglass ribs and a couple bulkheads would have stiffened it up. The PVC supports should've been aluminum.
Can you tell me which material you have used for the windows?

never understood why someone just can't buy a sit inside kayak flip it over and use that with some mods?
Wrong shape
