  • First real video in awhile - i apologize. Here I'll go through some basic things ive done on the trike and then for the rest of the video - ride it!
Immediately after the video was taken, i brought my baby to the shop to get her some shifters and a proper chain setup.
    It's a blast!!!

Fantastic! Congratulations. It's looking absolutly amazing. I must feel wonderful to be riding a trike that you made with your very own hands.
    Good Job.

Good work Chase, it seems like the rolling resistance is really low :)
I did a 4KM run on flat, but without speeds, too much chain friction and the heavy heavy unfaired frame, I was totally burnt in no time! Also, i painted my trike, but i forgot allot of small gussets and chain guides ext... so be sure to get everything rolling before painting it :)

I see by looking at your steering arms there's no Ackerman compensation. That will make the wheels to steer wrong on turns and grind tyres. At wheels straight ahead position, those steering arms must point to where the rear axle is in the centre of the vehicle. Wether a quad or a tadpole trike, this makes smooth steering on turns. All vehicles with 2 steering wheels have it. It would be an easy mod to adjust on your bike.

The ackermann compensation is achieved by locating the pivots along the line you described. Check the video again and you'll see that it was not forgotten 😉

awesome, how did you know so much to do this ? I have about 15 bikes I scrounged from dumpster diving. All types, kiddie bikes, mountain bikes and 15 speed full size bikes. I have all the tools, angle grinder, belt sander, elec. steel hack saw, mig welder, But where to begin ? I want it to be correct the first time around. Low resistance as possible so I won't get tired. I am re-tired (no pun ) !Thanks

hello friend, I wonder what type of shaft you used on the front wheels and hub because rode my bike but it's time you turn the shaft bent crooked, can you help me?

make sure you spend some time aligning the front, little is said about alignment but it can make a trike that is hard to pedal, slow, unstable, turns poorly, handle like its on rails.Never say,it's good enough,,spend the time, learn, get it right.

Can’t figure out a derailer but you can build custom build a tadpole recumbent? No problem! LoL.

Much of this trike looks like Atomic Zombie's Warrior Trike.

my first trike I built was directly from those plans, so this was just a small spin off of it and the streetfox
