    Do you drop them in water if you’re going to make a tincture, or is this just for culinary consumption?

      These were fresh but you use the same by weight for dry. This is only for mushrooms 1:5 ratio.

    I was down by the border and I came across this and it looked exactly like a small watermelon. I opened one up and it was the most bitter thing I have ever tasted and threw it back on the ground. So the fact that you said they’re poisonous when they turn green helps me know that my gut was weight to spit it back out

    I don't understand why the adding water is required. Can't you just use 100 proof and bypass this step?

    • @ForagerChick
      @ForagerChick Місяць тому

      Hi Patty! Yes you can use 100 proof vodka which is 50% water but the reason we do 2 extractions is because the hot water extracts more properties than just alcohol or alcohol and cold water. Hope that makes sense. Either way will give you a medicinal tincture, one has more broad spectrum properties.

    • @PattySherwood
      @PattySherwood Місяць тому

      Yes it makes sense, although I hadn't heard of needing the hot water for an extraction, I was under the impression that using the 100 proof, had enough water to extract the water solubles. I do use heat in processing some oils, but I have not used it in my tinctures. I just collected a beautiful COW and was planning a tincture, which I hadn't done before, so I have learned something new today. Thanks!

    Hello! there. I saw your videos and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after analysis, I noticed there needs to be improvement for getting more views and subscribers. You are working hard but the main motive to reach an exact audience is not fulfilled. You are working for your audience if the video can't reach them. That's a waste of your energy and time also. I will show the problem in your video and share how to fix it. Only say ‘yes’ if you want to grow your channel.
