Do you have to program the new abs module?
Yes & No. The ABS module has to be the same part number. The difference is, if the car is automatic or manual. The setting can be changed by using Tech 2.
Thank you... Worked perfectly. Cheers!
Welcome!👍
@@saabmastertech5852 I have a question for you... I own Volvo 2008 S60 2.5T: Recently my windshield wiper isn't functioning properly. It won't turn off, and it won't turn all the way on? Every 25 seconds it automatically wipes once. Every time I turn my car on it will do the same thing? Is it the wiper motor? Or relay?? Any help if you give me will be much appreciated and I will join your channel!

It is possible for water to get into the connector to the CEM, and then the contacts will oxidize, and the CEM will not function normally. You have to check the water drains, in order not to cause further damage. Reading CEM diagnostic trouble codes with a scanner is a good way to start.
Thanks!
Awesome. Very quick and easy how you did it. 🥳🤝🏻
Thanks 👍

Ok I have my front bumper off but how do you separate the metal brace and foam piece from the plastic cover? My cover is cracked and I want to repair it.
1. Remove the bumper. 2. Place the bumper on a non-damaging surface. 3. Remove the fog lights. Remove the holder, unscrew the two bolts and undo the nut at the top. Withdraw the fog light. 4. Remove the spoiler shield still fixed to the bumper. 5. Remove the bumper rail from the 11 clips that secure it to the protective shell and remove it from the shell. Note Use one or two flat screwdrivers. 6. Remove the cell section from the protective shell (wedged under the corners of the protective shell). 7. Remove the 8 clips securing the bumper grille and remove the grille. Remove the band securing the cover for the towing eye.
@@saabmastertech5852 thanks so much for the reply, I’ll give it a try
Got it off. Was not easy but got it removed. Using a 3M patch kit. Will see how it works out. Thanks.

that was a good video but how do you know the toe arm needs replacing?
clunking noise, uneven tread wear on tires, and visual damage. You can use a pry bar to check for play as well.
@@saabmastertech5852 Ah OK thanks that is helpful 👍🏾
Great video again, Thankyou for taking time to show us. 👌

Nice work...I'd like to see a video on replacing the neutral safety switch on an 1994 NG900. I'm getting the dreaded check gearbox light...
Noted!
My mechanic replaced alternator clutch puley, belt and tensioner. Tensioner is made by INA, I recently saw that puley on tensioner is wobling sideways like 0.5-1mm, but tensioner is not jumping, staying fixed while engine is running and it is good doing what its supposed to do. But wobbling part is that normal?
It is not normal for a new OEM or equivalent tensioner pulley to wobble.
@@saabmastertech5852thank you! Will fix that.
Great shown, especially with what tools should be used to complete before work, you could have suspended the brake shoes and not so that they hung on the hose. Overall great shown.
Thanks!👍
@@saabmastertech5852 Do you know the tightening torques for the wishbone bolts?
@@andrzej5484 In my opinion 80Ft-lbs is enough.

Thank you, I'm removing the front seat on my SAAB 9-3 from 1999. But how do I remove the seat bealt that is attached to the chair? It says Airbag (side airbag close to the door) there so I'm afraid of removing the plastic panel in front of the seatbelt attachment. Any advice? Thank for your great work. Best regards from Sweden.
There is a square pin that you have to push on in order to unhook it from the seat. First, use a flashlight to locate the square pin. Don't forget to disconnect the battery -ve pole, if you disconnect the connector under the seat.
@@saabmastertech5852 Many thanks. I will try that.
I thought the crank bolt was a torque to yield bolt and you shouldn’t reuse it. Just wondering as I did replace mine when I changed the timing chain tensioner. Thx
Correct, better replace it with a new one. Ordered a new bolt just in case. The problem with SAAB is to always order parts in advance in order to finish the job on time.
Hello I need help I just purchased these “igniters” and the thing is I might of made a mistake by purchase the igniters I have a 2006 saab 9-3 2.0t when I bought the car it didn’t have the iginter and your headlight assembly looks different and I don’t have a ballast under what do I need to do to make this work since I already purchased the igniters I should of done more research before buying
Your car comes with H7 halogen bulbs. Xenon lights comes with additional wiring from the factory (Module, level sensors etc.). The best thing is to leave it the way it is. Maybe replace the bulbs, if they are burnt or replace them with H7 equivalent LED bulbs.
@@saabmastertech5852 okay thankfully I got a refund and will do this instead thank you!!
Another very informative video from the best Saab mechanic in the city !!
Thanks 👍
Lmao 10:56 i do not know why a loose battery is a safety issue either, but i do know that where i am from you will fail technical inspection because of that.
The battery, cables & post can get damaged while driving if left loose. 🔥🔥🔥
First! Good day from Greece
Hello there!
Needed to take a linisher to my driveshaft before new abs ring would fit, pattern part though. I've been working on cars for 45 years and this was one of the worst jobs I've ever done....and I've a fully equipped DIY workshop and even an induction heater for seized fittings, but no ramp. 6 hours to remove the bolts, one of which broke. Old ABS sensor broke so had to be drilled out. Then alinging the various arms was a nightmare too. There are quite a few tools involved that the average Joe may not have. Probably worth getting a Mercedes specialist to do this, I won't do another.
Seems like you were dealing with worst case scenario.
I broke the front latch on my 89 900T. Left side. Any videos or tips on how to replace just the front latch mechanism? I found a used one.
Not yet. I try to work on it.

What size is that wrench used for inside bolt
Inner bolt. E18 socket & 18mm wrench. Outer bolt. E20 socket & 21mm wrench.
Nice but I did could not understand all of the sockets' the sizes... A list in this video's description, of the tools needed, would be an easy and helpful thing to add.
I agree with you.👍
How big are your tires?
215/45 R17
Wobble bit to the rescue
Brilliant video ❤
Thank you 😁
This is absolutely fantastic, thank you for taking the time to do this upload ❤

😂👍
Do you think that when the fan don’t start is related to broken temp sensor?
Check the fuse. Shorted cooling fan or defective sensor.
Very helpful video, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!👍
Sorry mate what about the negative connection of alternator ?
The two pin connector is connected to the ECM. The alternator is grounded via the engine block/cable/battery -ve. The +ve cable is connected to the battery +ve.
@@saabmastertech5852 thanx mate
Finally the DEFINITIVE video

This is a job that I’ve planning to do soon. I have a used but in very good condition top that I will change to. Do you plan to do a video of how to install the new one? :)
Already done. Don't have a video on installation.
@@saabmastertech5852 where do i find a video of the installation?
No video, only a copy of instructions www.zemekoni.org/files/Saab Service manuals/8.5 - Convertible.pdf
Hi! I have an '04 2.0T and want to install 2005+ subframe. As 2003-2004 cars have different set of engine/transmission mounts, I'm not sure if such conversion for later subframe is possible. Maybe you have such experience and can tell me if I gonna be able to install 2005+ subframe on my '04? Thanks in advance!
Transmission lower Mounts & Brackets are different.
Do you know how to remove the needles of the gauges on a 1997 Saab 900SE? Just pull off or rotate in reverse direction until loose? Thank you!
Why you want to remove the needles?
@@saabmastertech5852 My entire cluster is often losing power and I thought I could look at the other side of that circuit board and maybe find the problem. But, after very carefully removing the needles with a fork, I found it very difficult, maybe impossible, to take it apart further without breaking something. I think I will look somewhere else, like the wiring.
Does the car start when loosing power at the instrument cluster. If not, problem is from ignition switch.
@@saabmastertech5852 Thank you, the car starts and runs as normal. I think I will check where the cluster is grounded.
For just the instrument panel, I got by without removing the steering wheel, turn signal or wiper switches - with a small caution. All the other switches, radio, SID, steering wheel cowl and the fascia - that large flat plastic piece will bend enough to get the air ducts free. But I imagine you don't want to take any risk with a customer's car and I don't know if all fascias such as carbon fiber and wood grain, will bend like my original black one. Just did this, again, on my 1997 Saab 900SE.
Yes, it can be done without removing the steering wheel, with extra caution and care.
Nice clear video and explanation of a job that is confined and fiddly, and taking the tension off the hub seems like it's the key to success. I have two of these waiting to go onto mine, I've been delaying it because I thought cross member may have to be dropped. Thanks, not worried now.
Welcome!👍
Hi, this should be done by only removing the 2 Tx25 screws that hold the unit in place, after disconnecting the connection rod that links to the bottom suspension arm. No need for cutting the rivet, as it cannot be put back in place afterwards.
Good point. Thanks for sharing.
Where are you based ?
Montreal, Quebec.
Where can I get that kind of check valve. I bought a plastic one and I am afraid it gonna break again.
Check part number PPS3636114 online.
Hi is the motor just hang by it self after you have taken it off?
The motor is held by right side engine mount & left side transmission mount. You don't have to stay under the engine after removing the subframe. If you are not sure if the engine & transmission mount are not strong enough, support the engine with a beam.
My driver door handle won't work from the outside. How do I fix it and which parts do i need? Please and thanks.
Need to open the door panel & watch the door lock mechanism from inside, while moving the door handle. Some models have adjustment. Check, if it is loose or broken.
Excellent video, I'm watching to get an idea for my 97 9000 bumper removal. I see you've got the 9000 behind you😊.
Hello, great video. Is this subframe for a convertible? I am looking for a subframe for my 2010 Saab 9-3, do you know how I can procure one?
No, it is not for convertible. Check at esaabparts with the serial number of the car.
