Although this should NOT ruin the platonic friendship dynamic(and perhaps strengthen it) it's best to acknowledge that Ron had no interest in Leslie whatsoever, locking it into a platonic relationship. As an Asian, I was always confused by how normalised inbreeding is in the west. We have a social rule that's older than America itself that states no marriages between people related in 7 generations are allowed. We are coached from a young age to memorise our ancestors up to 7 or more generations, so we can ask early on the people we meet to avoid accidentally breaking the rule. Our familial communities are also very close, I consider my cousins my siblings. I'll call maybe 4th cousins as "cousins", but I still know them and keep up with what they get up to. In the past, breaking the 7 gen rule would be grounds for torturous capital punishment. Today its still very much taboo and frowned upon. We don't even joke about it, it's treated as a serious matter. In our culture "keeping the blood pure" means to avoid inbreeding specifically.

The character of Gabrielle was 29 when they started the affair, and yet the show portrayed this as a sexy little secret and as being ok because he's super hot and she's super hot and he's a male so he wants it anyway. I mean it's not like the show didn't communicate that this affair is scandalous, they did, but more so because she was cheating on her husband and not because she was sleeping with an underaged boy.
