Very good singer. What a voice Bought two of her albums and a CD. She could sing you a story..You could see it in her songs..I know she found a tape with her grandmother singing and put it at the beginning of her recording. Loved it..

I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with Gail slightly over 50 years ago. It was in the spring of 1973 in Bellingham, WA. We met through a mutual musician friend and she actually lived, for a time, at my home. At that time, she had her own band and was performing under the name (if memory serves me correctly) Trisha Gayle, (adapted from her full name: Patricia Gail Davies). "Lover Man" was right in her wheelhouse, during that period. Anyway, on April 15th, 1973 the Earl Scruggs Revue performed in Bellingham & was sponsored by the radio station where I was Program Director. Gail was quite enamored with the bass player/singer, in the Revue, Gary Scruggs ... so I took her backstage and introduced her to Gary. As irony would have it, they met up again when Gail ended up in Nashville. Gail told me later that I was "the guy who introduced her to her son's father". Her son is, of course, the amazingly talented Chris Scruggs. Gail sang just as beautifully in the Spring of 1973 as she did when she recorded "Lover Man"! She has always been at the top of my list of female vocalists.

She has the life she wants. She's from Oklahoma: secure and grounded in what counts. How blessed she is❤

An amazing song. Both her AND her brother are just so incredibly talented. Must have been some amazing music in that house when they were growing up. Watching them perform together is kind of captivating.

Help, please, Gail Davies fans, I’m trying to find a song that she performed on a live show like this one, maybe even this one. It could have been written by her brother Ron Davies, I think she mentioned him. She sang something about a rose, and I think she said that “it is about a dynamic”. It’s been many years but I remember that it was a great song, and not a cover off an older song. Maybe on piano? Help, anyone?

I remember buying the vinyl album and listening awestruck by the quality of Gail's singing, the quality of the songs and the quality of the production. I knew then that I was listening to one of the greatest talents in country music. I have bought every Gail Davies album since then. It's great that these videos are available to watch. Thank you Rob Price for making them available.

I just discovered her today while searching for a song to comfort me during these grieving times as my beloved grandmother passed away last month. This song hits hard. This is a tribute song done right.
