Codas Got Talent 2024 | “Live in San Diego” Highlights (Say hello in the comments!)
For the first time ever- Codas share a stage to share our Coda stories with the world. Codas Got Talent was a “live” and video split show. Theres so much amazing Coda talent. As much of this type of performances are shared only in Coda/ Deaf spaces an to some brave Codas rhat have begun th worl to share our stories.
My hope is for all Codas to find and learn their Coda identity as it’s a life changing experience… connection and gives the feels of home.

Hi, what do you think about making a video showing lots of signs that use fluttery fingers, seeing them with your facial expressions would help sooo much, I made a playlist of signs showing what I mean, one of my teachers showed us the fluttery version of "want", and I think you did that somewhere too, there's also "List-to-floor", many classifiers describing specific things using that, it's all quite a long list~~ maybe you're as excited about them as I am~

VERY PSE and you're teaching ASL classifiers horribly. "I need you to keep it secret."?? We don't sign "I need you to". Leave it to deaf people, ASL settler, please.

Hello, I was analyzing your UA-cam channel. your you tube SEO score is very low. It should be increased. and subscribers ,views , like, comments is very low according to your channel age. This is why your you tube growth is very low and your channel setup is also having many problems. If, you can solve this problems your channel will grow and be famous very quickly.

Greetings, I am proud to leave the first comment here. Thank you for taking the time to produce and post these ASL learning videos. They are very helpful to me. The voice over took me just a minute to get used to, but now they have become extremely helpful. I watch and listen over and over and over, until I can turn off the voice over and actually understand the sign only. Your work is not in vain! I appreciate you! Thank you!

I’m a late deafened adult. When I first lost my hearing I used tty’s. I would use the library’s tty or hospital’s tty to call home. I wanted to make sure they knew they had to have a TTY. Eventually I had a very compact TTY that I carried around. It’s easier now with texting, email and VRS. But no CI for me.

I've been with a deaf partner for 3 years now and I'm fairly fluent at this point but you've taught me a lot of new signs I didn't know! Impressed my partner with some of the signs he was like "i dont remember teaching u that one yet!" And he's said i have less of a "hearing accent" since ive been watching your videos. You're one of my favorite people on here ❤😊

Classifiers are handshapes that have a series of possible meanings and functions; but they are meaningless and useless by themselves unless a noun is signed or fingerspelled before the signed classifier. Singing or fingerspelling a noun before a classifier contributes in giving a meaning or function to the classifier. Classifiers can have a definition depending on their: 1. location in the space of signing 2. closeness to a specific part of the body 3. orientation of the palm of the hand 4. orientation of the knuckles

This was great information and thank you for giving us a history lesson on technology with Deaf culture. Your stories were amazing. I remember working for a utility company as a customer care specialist where we took TTY calls or relayed the message on TTYS. I am learning ASL in a college setting and this has been incredibly eye opening. Thank You!

Surprise myself when able to use right after learning! Fiancée (deaf) ask me if I need help with dog. I say i got this. He ask if I sure so I say no big deal. He look little surprised (I think) cause new slang I use. Able to use more when we watch movie!

  • @lindasamuelson2120

Love your videos- Even though live with fiancée (deaf) most sign learned myself... One suggestion is to slow down. Since you CODA and sign is 1st language that connection hardwired in you. I am better at sign than reading sign. That my biggest challenge. Also I learn from speech class when people speak in public they tend to talk fast. Slowing down will help people learn better.
