It's better to eventually replace Gleam Grenade with Megidoloan and Freikugal, as the later Mitamas do not die from 1 usage.

I think this only works for Vengeance because only Nahobino can use items in Creation. Weaknesses can repeat though so Shards or Ma- spells can knock out more than one Mitama at once. Pulled two with Leanan Sidhe's Mamudo.

incredibly niche use and if even 1 dodges ur turn is over. you got 12 chances to hit that dodge chance before the final one where you'll probably at least kill 2-3, too risky.

This is how I learn that thing is unlimited, I am not immune to not reading the fine print.

I took full advantage of the dlc to grind up and purchase Inanna in the first area. I played through the vanilla game fair and square and I'm not putting myself through that tedium again.

Eh... Imo that item is awful but glad that you had some use for it! Though it's not very practical since you need a full magatsuhi gauge for each battle.

I've yet to actually encounter more than 1 group of 4 mitama (which moved first so really it was just 2) so instead I use it when the smt4 ass "more reinforcements appeared" thing starts happening lol

Sorry to be negative but kick is not great. Flay, bash builds can deal literally billions of dmg per second and whirlwind/dust devil is also good. Everything else barb has is outclassed by magnitudes of 10x, 100x, 1000x dps.

I reuploaded this since a steam friend wanted to see it to recreate the build, so for him I'd do it. Yeah, I am dealing with a combo of work stress and existential dread, so it came through in some angry rants. Felt it was too mean spirited and removed it initially.

So far to me what makes this game difficult is simply learning how everything works, and then managing the immense amount of choices to make. I can't tell yet how the equipment and tasks I assign to my party are working, or how combat is actually working once auto-pause is released (I will be moving my settings to pause after each round next time I play). For example, I have the whole party selected and tasks assigned when combat starts, then I'm not sure if I'm supposed to continue to click on enemies while characters are swarming around them, or if the game is selecting when an archer shoots and then a melee attack happens when I click on an enemy, or if I just let it go until the whole combat is finished. Super early in game, though. Only to Beregost finding Neera, so I have a lot to learn yet.

For me, Wizardry 8 is the best RPG of all time and I'm always happy when a player reports about it here on UA-cam. The possibilities to create good characters are very diverse and the opinions are very different as to what is good or bad. So forgive me for my comments, as I have had different experiences. 1. The best weapons are not swords but polearms, which come online much faster, usually deal more damage and, unlike most swords, also have extended range and can be bought in infinite numbers (Dread Spears!). For swords, except for Bloodlust at the beginning, it takes a while until you get Fang, Giant Swords (only for Mooks) or Ivory Blade. 2. For hybrids, the penalty of - 4 in the spellbook weighs very heavily and developing magic takes very slowly. Getting buffs like Enchanted Blade, Missile Shield, Magic Screen or X-Ray earlier makes the game much easier. Beginners should give the hybrids a wide berth, with the exception of the Valkyrie. 3. The best attributes for melee characters and thus also hybrids are Dexterity and Strength. Speed only affects attacks and swing progression. Beyond that, it has no use for skill development. 4. The best beginner party in my opinion are Fighter, Bard, Valkyrie (Fighter), Mage, Priest and Alchemist (Ranger). In my experience, the most successful party are 3 Fighters or (2 Fighters+Bard) and 3 Bishops (2 Bishops + Mage or Alchemist). 5. Magic is strongest in the first half of the game in the form of AoE spells such as Magic Missiles, Fireball, Whipping Rocks, Iceball, etc. However, at least 2 or better more characters should be able to cast spells well. In the second half of the game, melee dominates. If you have a good balance in your party, you'll have it easy throughout the game.

concerning the powerlevel party, this isnt DND, you get the boni on stats for uneven points, namely 13,15,17,19. putting everybody on 18 is a lost point (or something to remedy on a levelup). putting them to either 17 frees up more points to use somewhere else, or put them on 19 to actually get a benefit.

one time i smited (smote?) so hard my game crashed. also i feel moving towards one enemy, getting opportunity'd by another, then turning around and killing that one instead so hard

It's been 2 years since I played Wizardry 8, I should check any recent mod news and replay it. (Some of) the mods tend to do a good job balancing the weapon skills

Note: In this second party I recently remade it and just made a "war priest". A dwarven priest spec'd in Piety and Strength. It's much more effective than anything else I can think of as a hybrid healer. Unless you want to survive until arnika/level 7 with a Valkyrie that grinds divinity for 5 hours in front of a heal fountain.
