I haven't played pool since the 70s. But I used to hit accurate cut shots with one simple observation, to add to your excellent video--that the point where the cue ball hits the object ball is the same distance for it's edge of the object ball that it is from the opposite edge of the cue ball. A cut to the left say that hits 1/4" from the right edge of the OB is contacted by the spot that/s 1/4" from the left edge of the cue ball. So, when you line up those two spots and then aim the cue stick thru the center of the cueball parallel with that line of sight, you'll see a spot on the far rail it's aiming right at. Just aim at the spot full on, and that ball is going in! That makes it as easy to make a far away cut shot as it is a near cut shot. Just something I noticed.

Great info. As a professional golf instructor and a local pool instructor, it amazes me how pool instructors want to criticize and disavow what other instructors are saying. In the golf business, that was totally unacceptable. I see many national teachers showing drills on how to get to the center of the table. My center is an 8 inch box from the true center. I do not know any instructors who would consider a ball 3 inches from the spot, the center of the table. Some of it is semantics but lets work together to get people interested and playing better pool.

I think the ball on the end rail is worse than you have said. If there is 12.5% of the table from the first diamond and the ball can be made from two triangles on either side of the ball inside that 12.5%, I reckon that leaves about 8% of table that the ball can be made from.

Anthony, if the objective of this video is to deprived your audience of any understanding of your pool instruction, you have succeeded admirably. The further you stand away from the mic, that is attached to the video camera the more the room echo garbles the sound to the point of unintelligibility. You need to use and wear a small wireless lapel mic. Which will result in making your instructions audible, understandable, and intelligible. Your welcome.
