Easy Christmas Decoration
This is another CNC Against Me project Challenge. The goal was to make something using scrap wood no more than 8”x16” given that it’s the holiday season, I thought I’d make a decorative piece. Took less than 30 minutes from design to carve paint and assemble.

2 Layer 3D Relief Carve
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
Ive had several requests to show how to do a 3D relief using dissimilar woods to get a good contrast between the relief and background. This can also be done with 2D designs where an image or test is raised and carved from the top layer of wood, leaving the background layer of wood. Especially useful when making signs where painting isn't the best option.

Follow up to Nighthawk review…running a cut
Переглядів 2,3 тис.2 роки тому
Follow up to the review of the Nighthawk Dust Boot by Nick Nofsinger with SolaFideDesignKC. Have had requests to see it in operation particularly as it relates to brush bending on deeper cuts. I’m using the 4” ported dustboot with a Shop Fox 1-1/2 hp Dust Collection system. The more I use the Nighthawk, the more I like it…and I’ve liked it a lot already!

Onefinity-Carveco design and cut - zero Z from top of spoilboard
Переглядів 5 тис.3 роки тому
You can extend the like of your spoilboard when making through cuts by zeroing z from top of spoilboard (bottom of material) instead of top of material. Taking a couple of basic shapes in Carveco and creating toolpaths from the top of spoilboard (bottom of material) and then cutting them on the Onefinity.
Skinny Jenny Tapered Ballnose Bit
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
After having tested the Skinny Jenny V1 for a couple of weeks a d comparing it to a number of other brand name taped ballnose bits, I thought that the SJ was amazing...but Cody wanted to make it even better...and he did with his revised version!!! Here is a carve in Walnut with the Skinny Jenny. It’s even more impressive with superior cut quality, strength and rigidity. cadencemfgdesign.com
JStewie’s Quick Connect JTech Laser Mount for Onefinity
Переглядів 2,8 тис.3 роки тому
I purchased one of Jason’s Quick Connect JTech Laser Mount for the Onefinity. Follow along to see how easy the assembly is and its versatility. Simple yet effective design... I was always saving laser work to run several projects at the same time because I hated mounting the stock bracket that comes with the JTech because having to bolt it on the Onefinity and then remove it was time consuming....

Dust Collection System for CNC enclosure
I just ordered a Redline spindle along with the Z20 slider. I have a Buildbotics controller. Do these instructions work with the controller I have?
Hi Frank, it does but since this video came out, onefinity added the reset configuration to include the z20 Slider. Go to the fly out menu and select reset configuration. Then select your machine model (woodworker/journeyman etc) and then select your Z slider (z20). This will establish the correct settings for you rather than having to manually change them. You’re going to love the spindle/z20 combo!
Very well thought out and executed. Tip o' the hat to ya.
Hamilton stole my comment. Good job Mitz
Very nice Mitz
Nice work!
Thanks Stephen. Sent you an email.
Great job Mitz
AWESOME! I love it Mitz! Great job!
An incredible christmitz project!
Very good job.
Great job. Love the slides
Is there a way to confirm the 1/4" hole in the board is perfectly drilled in the board? if its not perfectly square to the board this method won't give accurate results. I've used my drill press to drill mine, but I'm still not convinced it as accurate as it needs to be. Your thoughts?
@@terrymoss4729 you can use the cnc to drill the holes. I used a 1-1/2” wide x 3/4” thick board and drilled into each end. I would do this after tramming left to right and place the board in the x axis (left to right). The holes will be far more accurate than doing it on the drill press. Another way to check squareness is to align a carpenter square from entry hole to exit hole across on the material
Thanks for the info
The best guy out there!
Love it brother!!
Really cool, great job. I need to make this for my great grandchild.
Awesome Mitz, excellent as always!
I only wanted to beat you in this, but I've gotta admit that I just voted for you. Awesome work Mitz! Loved the collab and watching you never grab a mallet.
That’s cuz I know where my fists are at all times… would have been a considerably long video if I had to look for my mallet!!!
@@onefinity-trainingtipswithMitz I loved it!
Love it!!
Love it good job!! But you should definitely make a workbench!! Or what would be funny is saw horses shaped like horse🤣🤦♂️
The man, the myth, the legend!
Sanding thoughts with duffey dont help my sanding time either hahah great project Mitz!
For all the work you did on getting all of our files ready for the CNC with Me members, you deserve to win. You’re a legend Mitz.
Great Job Mitz! This such a fun project!
Thank you, my friend
Mostly just seeing your back.
This is excellent. Not one racist will comment a bad thing.
Looks great!!
O need to order some!!!
I cant make it work. Im using carveco maker and ugs. I select the bottom of material in the software. I probe from the spoil board. When I hit carve it drives the bit all the way to the spoil board instead of top of material.
That's the way! 😂
Excellent video. My machine wont go down to board , just cuts air. Why.
Did you probe z from the top or bottom of material? Needs to be probed in the same place as the design software
You guys’ ROCK! About ready to make the plunge. They say buy your second cnc first. I changed my mind 3 times over the past couple months deciding on which brand to go with. All for the better! Much more than I intended on spending, especially if I add the PWN ATC System. But once I saw it. I gotta have it lol. Having an ATC with a CNC is the frosting on the cake, but $$Ouch! "buy once cry once" Does adding the pwn atc system effect the warranty for the Elite Foreman in any way? Thanks for all the tech you guys bring to the hobby market! KZ
Hi KZ! Thanks you’re going to love this CNC ! Give me a shout in messenger (Mitz Pellicciotta) and I’ll try to answer whatever questions you have.
Great stuff thank you sir
about to place an order. so pumped!
You’re gonna love it! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Try cutting the flower of life once.
Hello Mitz, I know this video is a bit old, bit I know the new elite’s have teaming bolts on the rails. I think I need to tram my Elite Journeyman. Can you please do a step by step video on the process of doing this? I know the infinity site has a diagram but I’m confused. I do much better with an actual how to video. I’d really appreciate it. Thanks Chris
Great video! Thank you for taking time to share your skills.
Is this only for 3D carves or can it be set and left all carves?
It can be set for all carves with the BB controller
Thanks for the reply. I sped mine up to 10K and what a difference.
If you find that you start losing steps, back it down to about 7k
Good advice, thank you
Again, newbe need help. I see you check the continuity but where do I find the screen on the masso elite to see that. It appears you're using a computer monitor.
This was on the original machine (x35 and x50). On the Masso, if you go to the F1 screen, in the center column, scroll down to the touch probe input. When you touch the probe to the bit (magnet on collet), you will see the input change from low/green to red/high. This indicates to have good continuity
Thanks for that. Now, Problem, the makita came with a plastic collet. @@onefinity-trainingtipswithMitz
Yes thanks. I have no continuity from probe to tool or from magnet to aluminum pad. Have continuity from plug on probe wire to aluminum pad using ohm meter.@@onefinity-trainingtipswithMitz
Reach out to me in messenger. Will try to help
Why not just use a 32x32 square, then use "area clear" with a step over of 2"? Then rotate?
A real great presentation for clear understanding. Just a quick question, is it advisable to have the spoil board a couple inches larger than the cutting area? Thanks.....Bill
It really doesn’t matter as long as your bit can reach the edge of the material. I wind up putting a grid that’s 32 x 32 or whatever my cutting area is which will define the cutting area.
You changed the setting to the max jerk for Motor 0, Motor 1 & Motor 3 but not motor 2? Why not Motor 2?
Motor 2 (right Y rail) is slaved to Motor 1 (left Y rail) and therefore uses settings for Motor 1
I am going to comment again. Used this technique this morning. It worked perfectly. With a bit of work was able to dial it in to within a few thousandths (front to back, side to side) - over a twenty-inch span. Used feeler gauges. Good enough for woodworking. After this procedure I took another light cut off the spoil board (0.010), the surface is very smooth, with no ridges from the cutter. So happy! Thanks again.
So glad it worked so well!!
Great video, very helpful. Thanks!
Excellent video. Thank you!
Waiting for my Onefinity Journeyman to be delivered. I will wait as you suggested and check this video out again when I set up my machine. Thank you for your great advice!
Thank you. Very helpful.
Mitz, I've watched your Part 1 and 2 videos multiple times, they're great. Like others that have commented, I am curious how you dealt with the dust collection. I don't see how your design accommodated for the hose. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for this video - I think you will get me going. I have a question on the G-code file - where did it come from? Is it a 3D CAD program for the "model" and how was it processed to result in the G-code file?
Hi Neil. The g code is processed when you save your toolpaths in your design software. You have to select the post processor the first time you go to save the toolpath. Just be sure to select Onefinity Elite (for Elite series machines) or Onefinity-BB (for original series machines).
It was too quick for me; my retention of this demo was about 10%. I want to learn and would like to benefit from your experience, but I have not.
Sorry to hear that. Sometimes trying to cover a lot of info in a short time is hard to do. Reach out in Messenger and would be glad to cover anything in more detail
That is a nice enclosure. Very well thought out.
