    I have 350 as well. I felt some way about it because i had already watched your video before my install. I think they look just like yours. My crown, front,one side does seem to have larger locs than the others. They do look sparse especially at the crown. But when they are all down and well arranged they look more. I have seen your progress ao far and your hair has flourished so i am ecouraged. I have fine 4c kinky hair and it is very fragile and working with it without product is something else. That is the part that i didn't quite enjoy, the parting especially on day two. I lost quite a bit of hair especially on day two and 1 side looks shorter than the other even volume wise. Like if I do two ponytails one looks smaller than the other. That said i still believe i could have had more that 400 decent sized locs because i have alot of hair.

    I have 350, and it looks like as the grow I might have to lose about 350 as some are too thin and I have to admit I have the most amazing locs because a few people have been converted because they love them that much.

    Agree with you. Not everyone have the same head size and same type of hair and definitely will not have the same amount of locs. I am just glad that we as in all sisters, are wearing our own hair and being natural. Love the natural look of sisters. Love that we are making a move to better ourselves. I really hate you had to experience the negativity in those groups. So sorry for that. Glad you have moved on from it. Keep posting videos of your progress. I am literally waiting for my certified consultant to arrive to start on my hair.

    I started with 465. Down to 445. Feeling like I want to shave my head. It's neat and beautiful but it takes too much time when I'm retightening myself. I think I'll settle for 250 or 300

    Your hair looks great, but Sisterlocks truly vary by head, hair density and the size locks you get. Some women have standard locks and end up with 400 and some have standard and end up with 500. Some have 350 and it looks the same. I have a big head and started with 462 but after the pandemic and menopause I am likely down to 380. I am okay and had to join some locks to prevent losing hair. It's okay!!

    I have been established for 6 (lol) days. And I always said, prior, I did not want a LOT of locks in my hair. I was afraid that I'd look like a mop-head... I have 327 locs and then started to worry about "are these actually sisterlocks"? Which lead me to your original vid... I am glad to see that you have the volume you wanted and you trusted the process. They look amazing. I will do the same> In all, I did get what I asked for.

    I never joined the sisterhood community and I'm enjoying my locs. I git my locs installed because I wanted my God to be a neat as possible. My location was certified and gave me the introduction welcome kit to sister locs. I had already made up in my mind that I was going to do my own sister locs, so I watched the good bad and ugly about sister locs. I decided I was ready after 3 yrs of looking into what I felt was a commitment to grow my hair in the 4 yrs. It's going 👍 great. Thanks for sharing.

  • @biabia9181

    Braiding/banding can actually prevent locs from locking. Continuously stretching your hair really delays the locing process bc locs need to compact. I only braided and banded for 3 months. I have small locs not sisterlocs so it might be a little different. Now I just make sure my locs aren’t bunched up just by gently pulling the ends (after securing the roots so i don’t pull on my scalp) ALSO braiding and banding definitely prevents thorough washing of our locs and scalp. It’s very very rare that hair that’s already loc’d will unravel on its own. Even if your ends stay loose, the body of your loc is loc’d. You don’t have to worry.

    I honestly dont get why you guys are disappointed. I'm about to start my journey and I am praying that I have less than 400. This will be my 3rd set of locs, but 1st set that will be sisterlocs. From what I have gathered so far, that count will depend on your hair. Now I know my hair is super thin, and I'd rather have 350, than 450, only for them to break because, as she said in the video, the locs were too tiny and can't handle the weight of the maturing locs. I think once the sisterloc technique was used, and the size is right for your hair type and of course, head size, YOU HAVE SISTERLOCS.

    My daughter has 365 but by choice. She asked me to install larger bc she didnt want small ones. Her hair is really thick with high density it looks like she has way more than 400 locks. Otherwise in my experience as a trainee every time I stick to the grid and the guidelines I hit between 400- 450 on the grid each time and I conduct a lock count on every client, including transfer clients. Btw your hair is indeed beautiful and yes they are sisterlocks bc you went thru the process

  • @wenmoves
    @wenmoves Рік тому

    My problem is more with the grid. There was no middle part and no ear to ear. It's all very weird and now, 9 months down the line, I'm thinking of taking them down and restarting. Maybe it won't be so bad and I can attach my old locs till the new ones grow out. Pls advise!

    One thing I noticed about having a higher loc count is that they’re indistinguishable from a distance at least watching on video. They look like loose hair. That’s fine if you like that look but personally I like the look of locs. And since they look like loose hair I wonder if they function like it vs more thicker locs. So I feel like at that point why get them if the maintenance is going to be the same?
