Let me start by saying I KNOW IM WHITE!!! I came here from reels and was curious on the process.. this is absolutely STUNNING!!! I can’t say enough how beautiful you and your hair are!! I love learning new things and when curiosity strikes I usually end up on UA-cam and am glad I decided to research into sisterlocs!!
Your Sisterlocks are beautiful! Honestly, she did an awesome job with your locks they look extremely professional. I am surprised that she didn’t charge you more considering the length, hours, and work pattern almost to the end! Your Sisterlocks are beautiful don’t bother about numbers of locks, because I thought you had nearly 500! Enjoy your journey!
Didn't it?? 😍 Thank you!! Thickness came out of NOWHERE. I think I absolutely would get layers cut in it one day. I think what's next for me is maybeeee trying out a protective style or two for the warm weather 🤩. But I'm always taking ideas. What would you like to see next??
My hair length is measuring in at 13 to 15 inches as well. I really want to start off with my current length. Did you have any regrets starting off with longer hair? Any cons to it?
I was so worried that I would not have fullness. I love your journey! I am 5 months in and the locs have begun to swell a bit. Lots of shrinkage. LOL But I am happy that they are not as thin as they were at installation. I have high density hair and 603 locs. I started with an average of 10 inches of hair, my hair was much longer on top than bottom. 1500 in Atlanta Area. Included first retightening and wash as well as a trim before installation. Installation was 3 days and about 30hours. Yes, it was a big investment and took a few years for me to save for it. But I am very happy with the results.
I just had my consult yesterday and she measured me at 14 inches 😳 thank you for the peek inside what will probably be my installation process! Your hair looks amazing
yes I can totally relate to the real real 4C type hair mine shrinks up the same way and you may stretch it and measure it but when it's stretched more there's so much hidden length
12-17 inches, her tape measure was way off. 49 hours, I’ve heard of establishments taking a while, everyone hair is different. Anyway, your locs are beautiful! Happy 1 year loc’ versary. Best hair choice I’ve ever made. 🙂
Hey , love your progress and the volume ! I’ve just completed mine after 3days and nights . My question is how long did it take before you locked them with a needle? I’ve done mine as thin twists
OMG I'm so loving your hair.... I'm a few weeks in, my hair is similar to yours but a lil shorter. What did you use for the dryness? I was told to use water only
At what month did you stop braiding and banding? Did you ever deal with buildup? If so what did you use to get rid of it? Thanks for sharing your journey ☺️
Great video! Your hair looks great, I seem to remember you had some concerns about the number of locs, but actually whatever number you have looks great - your locks look amazing! You started with quite long hair, I’m so looking forward to having some more length but 50 hours - sheesh!! Paid off in the end though!
Thanks! 😊 You remember correctly! I was so devastated about my number of locs in the beginning haha. But I couldn’t afford to have them taken down and redone, so I had to leave them be. Thankfully, they’re flourishing, and I love them now 😊✨ But if I could go back and redo it, I would absolutelyyyy start with shorter hair, and I would pick a different consultant because 50 hours was probably too much lol. Thank you for watching and good luck on your journey!!! 🤗💕
@@ambyressence You’re so welcome! I’m so sorry for the late reply. I miss the simplicity of the maintenance, how well they suited me, and the health and strength they brought to my hair.
Let me start off by saying your locks do look a mazing I have been following your journey since day one and I know that you had so many concerns the number of likes being one of your concerns however they have turned out beautiful I am 4 1/2 months and and have some of the same concerns you did it with the exception of the number of lots that I have I am currently taking the sister locks class and what I think I’m going to use a strategy two hours before the day I establish my client here I will call them in just to do a parting session because there is something that I believe that will kill time also I’m sure your hair length played a huge role but 46 hours seems excessive maybe she was still new at doing down and that all the way honest about it💜
Thank you for following my journey!! 💕😊 I did have sooo many concerns at the beginning haha. But these days, I’m feeling content to let my hair just be my hair. I think your strategy to do parting separately is a great one! And I agree with you- 49 hours felt a bit excessive. I found out later that my Sisterlocks trainee was a bit less experienced at doing Sisterlocks than I originally thought. I think my hair was a bigger project than she planned for lol.
So when can you go swimming? At what point during the journey.. and I do mean hop in the water wild and free with flowing hair.. lol no banding or whatnot?
That's a really good question. I saw this comment last week and asked my loctician about it! Personally, my locs are still loose at the ends, so I'm still being advised not to swim with my hair loose and to band when I wash. It's frustrating lol. BUT, most people can stop braiding and banding between 6 months and a year!
I just started mines yesterday...i sat for 8 hours getting it done...when i came home i still thought they were a little to big...i counted 148...so i split sum big ones in half now i have 213 so i kind of satisfied...im so excited to start this journey though😣😣😭
Do you still have less than 400 locks!?! Your hair is gorgeous! I have under 400 sister locks and was definitely feeling some kind of way but seeing your hair at this point in your journey is really inspiring!
This makes me so happy to read. ❤️ This is exactly what I hoped my videos would do!! I do still have fewer than 400 locks! 352 to be exact. But the way my hair is thickening up and thriving now, no one can tell I have under 400. I hope you're feeling even better about your lock count these days!
I don't remember exactly what I paid after adding a tip and everything! Every sisterloctician charges a different fee depending on their expensive level. But you can expect the cost to start at $500 and go up from there
Everytime I wash my hair, I go loc by loc and make sure they’re all separated at the root. 😊 This takes a while (luckily, I only have 350 locs), but it prevents the locs from marrying/combining!

It's okay to want to learn about something your skin color doesn't matter. And you don't have to justify nothing to nobody
Here watching. On this new journey also

Your Sisterlocs are so beautiful, can't wait to see my journey
I was averaged at 12 inches, too after measuring 13-15 & in need of a good trim. Pd $1,300 in Savannah, GA. She's allowing 4 days. Looks great!
The thickness came in like it was making up for lost time!! Beautiful:) What's next? Would you ever get layers cut in?

Hi Tam Tam. Can you please share the inform of your loctician in the Atlanta area?
I just had my consult yesterday and she measured me at 14 inches 😳 thank you for the peek inside what will probably be my installation process! Your hair looks amazing
48 hours.....OMG 😲 I don't think I can sat down for that long 😫.

Idk how many times I’ve watched your journey video… might as well book this consultation. Your journey is beautiful
Thank you so much!! 💕😊 I hope you booked that consultation! 😉 Sisterlocking was the best hair decision I’ve made.

Your locs are soooo beautiful, queen! They are nice and full❤❤❤
Thank you so much!! 🤗💕💕
You have patience. God bless you sitting in that chair that long.
Love this. Just finished mine and they look very similar to your start. Can’t wait to see what them at the end of 2021.
Yay 🥳✨ Enjoy your journey and trust the process!

We are loc sisters!!! I got my inter locs installed Dec. 13, 2019. We had year 1 during quarantine. Was that not crazy?!?!

I am *this* close to reinstalling my sister locks🙃 yours look gorgeous and healthy!
Thank you! 😊✨ but why are you thinking of reinstalling yours?

Your hair is beautiful! 😍. Congrats on 1 year!!!!
Thanks so much!! 🥳💕
Thanks for the update. They look great 😊
Thank you!! 💕✨
Absolutely stunning you and your hair. Thank you for this video it’s helpful for my decision thank you.
4 hours to take out your starters?!?! 49 hour establishment for 350 locs?? Sis was moving turtle slow. They’re beautiful though.
Omg, I was wondering if I heard it correctly. I have to same amount of locs 4 inches of hair and it took 11 hours flat. 49 woosah
@@LifeWithUsTV granted I cut my hair down to 7-10 inches for my instal, but I have 441 and it only took 21 hours including breaks.49 is crazy.
R.I.P. to your cheeks, because sitting that long is NOT easy.
Thanks for the reminder to trust the process, and celebrate where I am today (5 1/2 mos).
Thanks love, I just got mine installed and I can't wait for the volume to enter chat
They look so pretty💖
Wow that’s a long time for an establishment. She was really slow. The outcome was nice tho!
Yeah you’re right. I didn’t realize how slow it was until I got second and third opinions from other consultants afterwards lol 😬
Well your hair was long.
Love love love. Your hair looks amazing
Thank you Lindsey!! 💕💕 Please let me know if you end up deciding to loc! 🤩
