This is how every family members need to engage amongst and handle negativity positively My thoughts and preparedness just matches what is being discussed
First of all kudos to Shivam that he is investing such a good amount from his monthly salary and having a destination where he can do what he wants. I understood the term very late in my life. I was made familiar to such a thing by people from Air Force but due to little understanding I didn't really care that much but now being 40 in shree i seriously understand what does it mean what are its implications and its important to whom. As experienced from my life its worth the pain but it's not for all. Just like the to 5 of a class of 40. However there is lot more to FIRE just than a financial freedom and retirement and i hope he shall get the idea as he matures and have responsibilities on his shoulders. I myself has gone and going on to the understanding and path since 2008 and had gone through 3-4 years of unemployment and the wisdom it brought. Shri Ram bless you with more happiness and the resilience against this world has to offer to be on your path.
நன்றி 🙏
At the outset you gave some suggestions.,but too much of unnecessary jargons ., instead of tamil you can make it in English, already your audience all from urban only.,but now a days because English medium educated and grown in tamil background this problem exists in urban area .,
My god..! I can relate to Shubham soo much.
That "adaavadhu" at 21:41 is a thani emotion of someone who has seen it all.

Excellent say “inaction is deadlier than inflation”!
Very useful insights! At one point Pattu says that when the equity isn't going well, reduce the risk and keep the portfolio debt based. How do we do that? Derisking the portfolio when it nears the goal was straightf-forward to understand? But, how to change asset allocation based on real-time returns?
Awesome Pattu sir .. really enjoying throughout video

Great Content. Thank You! It would be great if you can touch upon NRI investing in Indian MF. While INR returns are great, there is always risk of rupee depreciation and repatriation loss that reduces any gains from Indian market in terms of dollar value. It would be great to hear Pattu Sir view on NRI investing in Indian MF.

How do we balance the number of funds to invest, I would also like to know - how the systematic withdrawal can be planned -if I want to have a SWP starting after 15 years. Does holding several funds - affect the SWP options for us?
I have started regular investment in MF but not SIP..it's manual process and it is done by me manually and now I became addict to that investment...On 1st day of Month I will buy blindly ❤
Sometimes many MF will stop One time investment and will only allow SIP
I have a doubt..if I go for small cap fund whether i can buy small cap fund or small cap index fund???
He will suggest buy actively managed small cap fund
Good message to everyone 👍 and thank you sir

If we have a Corporate Group term insurance, is it necessary to take extra term insurance??
Mothathula, health insurance vaanginalum saavu dhaan, vangalanalum saavu dhaan ! and then emergency fund um serthu vaikanum, adhu ilanalum saavu dhaan ! apo vaazhradhe ivangalu kaasu kudukradhuku dhaan !!!
Dear Madam/Pattu sir, I have been managing health insurance cover for my parents for more than 15 years under my corporate group cover so far. My parents are very old 86 and 78 now . I have claimed few times for their hospitalization. But now iam likely to retire and need to look for parents health insurance outside , what is your recommendation for this age, very few of them only cover at this age. Please do a session for elderly parents cover above 75 age which will be helpful for others too.
Even with co- pay insurer paid more claims previous year there is a high chance of raise in premium. Common man doesn’t have any control on this. Onnukonnu salachathu illa.
Some of the insurers apply pro rata deductions if you don’t opt cashless in a network hospital
GIPSA package protection is there to protect the insured person paying more. These predefined accepted packages helps to curtail small hospitals charging high . But in general renowned corporate have good tieups with TPA and they manage to charge within GIPSA package and if anything on and above package due to individual conditions insurers will not raise much questions. As Pattu said , hospitalization is an experience. We get better and better based on one’s own experience
Ardent follower of Pattu sir. Like he said, there's only so much that can be and should be discussed on personal finance. But tuning in just to hear this guy out in Tamil!!!
i have only 1.5 cr corpus at 55 which will yield 10% returns and when i use ur retirement calculator based on this corpus and expense increasing it 6% per annum it shows a -ve number at the age 85 I guess i am doing somewhere mistake as the corpus is very low compared to 7.5 cr as your example in this video.
I did this to take loan for commitment in the very initial stage of my career. It actually worked for me. I got a few real estate plots which have appreciated a lot! But now I am focusing more on liquid portfolio (bonds, stocks, mutual funds, fixed deposits etc.,). I am 30 now.
Great episode, as usual!
Out of 25 minutes the anchor the certified kirrukku herself took 20 minutes and left only 5 minutes for the expert to same something. In that time he presented 2 slides and the show was over. Apart from FD, RD, Short Term, Long Term and Insurance no value addition was there. Then they concluded saying that they will cover other areas in next episode. Literally a waste of time
Excellent pattu sir.. thanks for your insights
Like Pattu, as a PhD faculty, I also started earning a decent salary at the age of 32. I started with INR 7.5 lakh in July 2018. Today, I am at 2.10 Cr in July 2024. It excludes real estate and my spouse investments. What worked: 1. 75 percent equity portfolio 2. High savings rate 3. Staying in a university campus away from city keep expenses low 4. Marrying a spouse who luckily gets a permanent work from home, is genetically frugal, and contribute equally to household expenses. It is not that, I compromised on quality of life. I did three self funded international travel since 2018, many domestic travel, and own a 25 lakh plus SUV. It is just about a mindset. With a comfortable savings, now we don't mind splurge.
