Shield Block, Shield of Rightousness, Death strike, Ironfur, Demon armor, purifying brew. Thats the spammable mitigation all thanks have. (Yes, Death strike is a healing ability, but its Theyr mitigation, so its basically the same as the rest of them. Use it or you'll die)

New wow player and friends recommended I tank and play g druid. It’s a good fit for me and my personality- but steep learning curve and lots of toxic in mythic pugs. Still like it and this video series was a lot of help for me to better understand tactics and broader gameplay. Thanks for doing all the work to put these vids out there.

As for tank's final thoughts I will say that: as a tank I feel much more in control of what happens in the key: what we are pulling and what not, I decide the pace, I can see if healer struggles to keep us alive and go slower, or if I need to make huge pulls because our team's damage is insane. I mostly play self sufficient tank(prot paladin), once you figure out how to play, how to chain defensives and what not, it feels like you can carry almost any team to complete the key (obviously up to a certain level), even if team's dps isn't the best, even if they not using defensives, you can cover it with your externals and your own dps. When I play a healer I feel like it's hit or miss: if I'm in the good group it's very easy, if I'm in the bad group it's almost unplayable, I can't just overheal every aoe if dps are not using their defensives. I just feel I have little control over success of the dungeon Thats just my thoughts of why I'm mostly play tanks

I personally just use my ironfur on mousewheel down, just scrolling it constantly seems much easier on fingers and you can pop multiple ironfurs much quicker then pressing the button Edit: Also I feel like you are not using your defensives enough sometimes. Like on that NW attempt I can see you had your incarn ran out but you didn't pop the barkskin nor the survival instincts. That might have been the difference between life and death. On those heavy pulls the idea is that you cycle defensives and chain then one into other. But that was a fun journey to follow anyway, looking forward to more content

all your problems like go away if you play veng dh. you can insta move w/o looking away from a boss, you have way more stops, you get to the end of the shooting range instatnly in siege, you have a million magic resist vs the bosses in mists, you dont fall off in arakara, you isnta get to a snare pool in arakara last boss, demon spikes is a better version of ironfur for you. For ironfurn you take ironfuir aoe dmg so everytime you hit it you do more and more dmg, then you take the talent that when you use an amout of rage you heal the entire party, and finally ironfur is off the gcd so you macro it to your other abilities and then you are BUTTER! every other GCD gives you armor, does extra aoe dmg, and counts for stacks to heal the entire team, and you dont even have to press ironfur. its like wearing another tier set.

tip on the first boss of grim batol, Reset to the middle of the room after every purple wave, if you do the next time it spawns, you will be the closest possible to any location it chooses to be safe and dont have to run as far, meaning you can just backpeddle to safe spot inside of running the whole room.

I got keystone master and keystone hero for the first time ever this season and I was also playing guardian! I was glad for the simplicity of the spec bc the farthest I ever got in m+ prior to this season was about 1k rio and my first time tanking (was traditionally balance druid but got sick of waiting/no invites to groups.) My BIGGEST annoyance was getting one shot when charging into a regular trash pull! I quickly learned to just press barkskin before charging and fortunately its cd was usually done by the next pull but sometimes it wasn’t!!! If I had really good dps in my group they would down pulls faster than I could get barkskin back and I’d have to start using other defensives and throw off my timing! It felt so bad!!Even worse was if I already had to use my other light defensive (rage of the sleeper) I’d be left either using a huge overkill defensive to not get popped or waiting a few seconds for bark to come back. Having to wait makes the dps hate you and (often) pull before you’re ready. Needing to pop a defensive for regular melee hits made me not feel like a tank but just another (weak) dps with more defensive cooldowns. I think I’d really like to see more baseline defensiveness at least agains melee hits moving forward. Or maybe just have barkskin reset when leaving combat on top of having a cooldown (whichever happens first.)

last time i tanked was on DF S3 but only up to 2200 rio, it started to feel boring after that. But I have not bothered ever since, I dont like leading and I m afraid I ll get one shotted. Now how does holy paladin look for S2?

youre 100% right about the dps/healer pulling for you. unless you as a tank ask for it they should never do it. its not like youre trying to do the dungeon slow and its not like it matters in keys below +12 either way

paladin is my favorite most fun tank to play

Heroic should have them normal and LFR I can understand getting rid of them but once you've made it heroic or higher lvl content you should be learning

The additional annoying thing about tank compared to healer is that you cant really cruise by being undergeared. I had timed 6s on my shaman healer with item level 590, and have personally seen a guy on disc priest heal a +8 at 588 (admittedly the guy was a huge pumper). Tank cant get away with those shenanigans.

If you look at high IO guardian druids they all use iron fur spam builds since iron fur is a rage dump that is off the global cooldown. Many of them dont even talent raze and they will never swipe unless theyve pulled a huge pack or need a little extra threat at the start of a pull. Using moonfire massively reduces the cooldown of lunar beam as well

Whenever I heal, I don't mind people not picking up the orbs in SV, I just gobble them up myself if nobody takes them and enjoy every heal being a full heal. Doesn't really matter if the shield phase takes a little longer if people can't die to it.

people dont know how to play mechanics... its really sad thats people still give a fuck. :( I'm actually hardstuck at 9s and 10s, many keys getting fucked up because people dont know what a mechanic do. even with people who are doing already 20 keys on 10+. stonevault is a good example. i had a healer who healed already 12+ stonevault and you think he know when do the dispels. absolutly no. He fucked up every single time of the Tank buster. I got the debuff, he dispels. i told him 3 times i need the buff for the tank buster. after the 3rd wipe he told me to fuck up and left the group. boralus last boss, healer doesnt dispel one of the dot and is crying about thats nobody used his cd as dd. but they did and used everything they had. first island is done and boss had to be shot.... nobody want it to do and told me i should do it as tank... guess how fast they died. :) even after i told them i had to be on the other island to get melee from the tentacle, they dont care. i run the week 10-15 or more keys and sometimes i dont finish one of the keys. i'm really frustraded and getting terrified to go into the next key, because i already know what will happen.

I full understand the wanting to pull the packs before the lieutenant the reason why people dont is because the pack is rough and you blew Cds on the last lieutenant and had a pack between to cds come back up. Many people lust there because it lines up. Playing safe is never bad and you can time keys doing it but you get a lot for pulling that with CDs.

Nice! I also used to do this pull on dawnbreaker 2nd lieutenant when you first pull mobs before the stairs, and the exact same thing kept happening when DPS just fly straight into lieutenant and pull them as well... I honestly just gave up and started pulling leitenant as everyone does. Tbf on keys like +10 people getting good at avoiding accident pulls so it's usually fine. Also asking everyone to switch to classic flight style helps a lot

man i always hate when DPS players pull for me.... like dude i would pull big if i had cds and the worst part is then they blame me for dying to a pull that the other tank they had at somepoint lived thru

When it comes to the raid boss with the eggs - you're technically allotted 1 mess up per area (since you get 4 per, and you end up with 3 eggs at the end of each group [if you pop 4 on the first 2] - you end up with an extra) however, WHEN that happens can make it harder and honestly, when we've had pugs that have messed up that mechanic we're only able to recover because the majority of the raid is in comms, and we can call it out to adjust accordingly. If most of the raid isn't in comms, I can definitely see it being a wipeable mechanic

I agree about single mechanics that can cause a wipe when randomly assigned to Johnny No Mechanics, but at this point there’s really not many that do. Like getting an empowered spider or whatever doesn’t really matter. Strong healers have been able to heal through the charge you need to block on council since the fight came out. Getting a rolling acid that gets moved to the wrong side can be just jumped over and the achievement is literally to mess it up. Like there’s just not a lot that’s a problem. Especially compared to BFA or Shadowlands.

Raiding is : 1. Ur group is geared enough to oneshot the boss and ignore most of the mechanics 2. ur group is not and everyone leaves after first wipe

You do want to use lunarbeam with sleeper for damage tbh ,- also don't hold incarn so much, just send it, never bee afraid to use cds, at all - sure in higher keys, plan it - but most of the time, you send it tbh, greetings from bear main

in the mist the rouge whould have just sapped the mob and you can skip it without it going in to combat

You feel like you get more toxicity as a tank or a healer when you make a mistake or if there is a death? Switched to tank and feel under the microscope all the time.
