Self Sufficient Living | Growing Our Own Food Forest | The Beginning
After removing trees, pulling out roots, removing large rocks & bushes before working up and leveling the ground, we are now at the time where our garden space is actually beginning to look like a garden!
Over the cooler months we began growing seedlings inside, and we did have some struggles and will do a few things different for next years season.
Each and every day is another day to be grateful for, another day to feel blessed to be living this awesome life, and another day to choose to feel happy and healthy.
Here we are, officially growing some of our very own food, bringing our dream of being self sufficient into our reality. Thank you so much for following along, and we hope you continue to watch our journey of homesteading.

We Turned Our Grungy Basement Into a Gym | Small Space Home Gym Setup | Basement Gym Renovation
Переглядів 3,5 тис.7 місяців тому
When we moved into our home, one thing was missing... somewhere where we could set up our equipment for our home gym. The only option we had was to build a new structure (which may still happen) or to renovate our small space basement, into our gym. Option two is what we decided to start with, and this video shows our progress. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! Mark and Karen ↣...

If you can dream it, you can live it. That is exactly what this video is about. We bought this property with the intention of clearing some of the land in order to create our vegetable garden. We have done everything ourselves, even though it may be known as the harder way, but we kept at it, to bring our vision into our reality. After only 4 months of being in our new home, here we are, planti...
Building Chicken Proof Raised Beds for Vegetable Gardening

Mark built these raised beds which we will be using to begin our vegetable garden on our new homestead, with the first crop being fall garlic. These raised beds have a removeable top which are lined with chicken wire to prevent chickens and the multiple outdoor cats in our area, from getting into our crop. These raised beds are a great option to use all growing season for smaller crops, such as...

Made the same move in Sept '22. After 31 years in ON, and having worked from home during COVID, I saw no reason why "home" couldn't be my home province, as I prepared the wind-down to retirement. While there are things - and especially people! - i miss about ON, I'm happy, overall, with the decision. Despite the weather and the higher price of everything except housing.

I retired back in Newfoundland from Ontario but I miss Northern Ontario. I might sell the house here and move back to Northern Ontario.. they tax everything here, health care is worse than Ontario and people in Ontario are more welcoming of newcomers, you take your life in your hands because of the culture of drinking and driving is exceptable here hasn't changed since I was young like other places. I guess it's why car insurance is so high, inflation in Newfoundland is crazy
