We were originally going to buy a chipper as we thought we were going to remove all of the trees. The trees closer to the water are a mix of birch, fir, spruce, larches, and alders, so we think we're going to keep most of them. For now, we are cutting up the alders for camp firewood and have been burning the tops and using the ashes in our garden soil.
We moved back from Alberta last fall to a small acreage outside Springdale. It is very nice to see you making this journal of your new life and sharing it. May I ask where you came from and what town you moved into?
@@sweetmusicmanNL Thank you. We moved to central Newfoundland from the GTA in Ontario four months ago. It has proven to be a great decision! Best of luck to you in your new home 😀
I would pile those alders and, when I had everything cut, I would rent a chipper and chip them.

Would make some nice wattle fencing. Roots are another story, trencher or mini ex?
We are planning on pulling the roots using our ATV and will be sharing the process in upcoming videos 🙂
