Excellent video. I just finished Rise of the Golden Idol a few days ago and was dissapointed about the lack of analysis on the series. I really enjoyed how you picked apart Cloudsley's ideology of the virutes and pointed out that it was ultimately self-defeating. I hadn't thought that far. :)

I know this video isn’t really about prices, but I find modern gaming prices to be ridiculous sometimes no matter how good the game is. Like Nintendo games are consistently $80 CAD and never go on sale, most mainstream gaming ranges from $60-$90, but there’s so many amazing indie games I can get for $20-$30 CAD! Buying indie or small game studio games is just smarter at this point. (Also, I found out that the people who made this game are selling plushies!! They’re being sold in batches, but I’m hoping to get one if they ever appear again because they’re just so cute and to support the creators.)

God this game is great. I wish the sequel was as good. but the story leaves something to be desired

This game was my first look into murder-mystery as a big genre I never knew I would like so much I have played this, the sequel "The rise of the Golden Idol" and even "The return of the Obra Dimm" given that it shares many similarities in style (sort of) and way of clue deduction through the little clues you have by only being able to see what you have or hear the few dialogues

That grimore is everything but "semi-complete".

I'm not seeing anyone talk about it, but the preservation ending is highly implied to be in Yi's Soulscape, and not actually happening. You can tell by the visual glitches through the entire ending. I'm really surprised I haven't found anyone talk about this, lol.
