Gosh....JUST ASK BRANDON SANDERSON TO FINISH THIS! 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦 HE'S REALLY GETTING ON NERVES OF FANS ALL AROUND THE WORLD!
I just cant care anymore.
The ONLY mistake that i see in his behavior is the false hope and the fan trolling that he does. You don't want to write a book? That's fine i don't give a damn anymore. Just don't rub it in our faces laughing about it, like a complete asshole.
All D&D had to do was bring in fresh, talented showrunners if they were burnt out. All they had to do was talk to George and at least get a framework to build on. They could have made Euron the final villain, we could have seen him use blood magic and horns to steal Drogon. We could have seen Dany return to the ruins of Valyria to find another horn, or travel to Asshai to become a full sorceress. We could have seen Jon/Rhaegal leading the North against the Lannisters. We could have seen Jon tearfully telling his siblings that he's a Targaryen in a much heavier scene. We could have seen SO. MUCH. MORE.
They also got lazy and wanted the credit of finishing the show themselves. They didn't want anyone else to have a piece of the cake, even if they were done with it. It also showed a pattern of big stuff happening before the final of a season.
What's funny too is they could've stepped back, let others have a larger role in the final seasons and they still would've gotten all the acclaim because of how good the early seasons were. They were even writing most of the scripts in the final two seasons. They just couldn't give any control away.
I didn't read the books before the first season so when this was all happening I was thinking that Ned would next go to the wall with Jon.
" They live on in infamy...." Truer words could not have been spoken.
The final seasons were a combo of their egos and laziness. After success they thought they could do anything, and when then they became less interested and lazy they thought that it would still be enough to finish it in a way that people would accept.
Ned losing his head was the spark. The Red Wedding was the fuel. More importantly, reaction videos to the Red Wedding. I think D&D strived to create moments that would make for good reaction videos. And it became a detriment to the show. These moments were no longer cohesive results of a properly flowing story, but moments manufactured to elicit a certain response.
Yeah. People often say the show ran out of material, but outside of a few scenes (Bran meeting the 3-Eyed Raven, Jon's death by the Night's Watch, etc.) they pretty much ignored books 4 and 5 because those aren't as fast-paced and exciting. It's like all the hype and popularity went to their heads after the Red Wedding, so much that they believed they could do better than George.
That scene impacted much of what came after and other character development - I remember being shocked that they killed him off like that. It changed the lives of so many characters.
I thought some people might stop watching after Ned's execution. They were smart putting it in episode 9 to give people a chance to recover in the finale. The Red Wedding hit harder, and people would've quit I think if something like that was in Season 1 but fans were too invested in the show by then.
True, whereas most series save their big moments for the finale, I think they were smart to do that in 9 most seasons and then have a reset in the finale.
great video! im still salty about how D&D rushed through the last few seasons, GRRM wanted at least 10 seasons, i wonder how beloved the show would be if it kept the quality from the first 4 seasons all the way through!
I binged it all last year, having never seen an episode during its original run. Once they killed off glenn and i saw promos about dead city and knew that neegan never got his comeuppance....i stopped watching. I made it to the episode where neegan and the priest character are locked in the same room together. I hate neegan with a passion and knowing he never pays for his crimes is too much for me(season 8 episode 5)
You got out at a good time. Season 8 is when the ratings began their decline too. Killing Glenn, Carl and the nonsensical, drawn out Negan plot turned people off.
Aegon is the only one worth rooting for. He’s a character that’s actually human and not a robot or stereotype like the female characters.
They’re jokes now. Lol that’s a pretty satisfying ending if you ask me
Even if he only has 1000 pages to read when he croaks, if they publish his unfinished tales, I will eat them up. I seriously can’t put those ASOIAF books down once I pick them up.
Another thing is that the whitewalker army had far superior numbers and should’ve won even against a good defense, but you know they too are military masterminds and the night king, their Achilles heel decides to just walk in and be killed. We also never really got to learn like what is he even trying to achieve other than being the evil enemy. This battle feels like they didn’t know what to do with that part of the plot so they just made a quick way to close to book on the whole white walker thing in a laughably horrible way.
Exactly. It makes no sense for the Night King to put himself at risk. Besides in your first battle against the NK, you should lose, to raise the stakes and the danger even higher. I think if they had a contingent of the army stay behind, to essentially sacrifice themelves so the bulk of the army and the citizens could escape south, it would've been a good episode.
The only way you are getting winds is if you sit over her shoulder and flog him if he writes something different.
2025 still stings. Those 2 are complete clowns
HBO gave him too much money, hungry writers are better writers.
I thought he would eat himself to death by now. Why are you George still alive?
Imagine he hasn't written any of Winds and he's just been trolling everyone since 2011
Exactly the last two seasons were nauseatingly bad dan and Dave should be ashamed of themselves
I couldn't agree with you more. They killed the series when they killed Carl
Bran The king... Daenerys death is sad.. but after that bran is correct for crown.. Because his grandfather, father, brother all die in the throne.. I support Bran the king
I still have no idea why anybody would think king Bran would be a good idea. I mean, he's basically an eldrich horror
The early seasons were so well received because there were huge twists Martin wrote like the Red Wedding, Joffrey's death etc. They tried to write shocking moments in the final season, but they lacked the skill to do it.
For me the worst thing is not even Arya killing him. It's the years of seasons hyping up the "winter" and saying how incredibly deadly and extremely cold it was, and centuries of so in Westeros, all to last a literal mere 1 single night, stopped at Winterfell. It was the way the characters started teleporting. like when Jon and his crew was on that dumb shit stupid ass mission of catching a dead.. alive.. to show Cersei and convince her to ceasefire (as if it would ever work lol), Jon and others are surrounded by the dead army and the lake stays liquid till that guy runs and reaches the wall, they send a raven to Dragonstone, the raven reaches them, Danny flies and arrives at the destination and the water has Jon started to solidify.. remember; this was supposed to be THE winter, the extreme alpha omega super duper mfing WINTER. the way they waste so much time not riding the dragon and getting one of them killed. One DRAGON for an utter bullshit false promise from Cersei for mercy.. what a deal, when they could attack King's Landing on day one and literally destroy the city under an hour, with three dragons instead of one and the total number of her massive army. Not to mention how she and her dragons didn't see the ships below and get 2 headshots back to back from a moving ship, but somehow a single dragon destroys every single one of the tens of the same powerful weapon all by itself without getting a single scratch. May God forgive GoT writers for the sins and crimes they did on season 7 and 8, but I will never.
The funniest part of the trip beyond the wall to capture a wight was when Jon turned to Gendry and told him that he's the fastest so he needs to run back to the wall. It's hilarious that he could run the distance they hiked, not to mention none of the dead went after him, just the others. Yet he makes it in time to save them.
Let it go and read something else. His are not the only books in the world.
I know this is old vid. But also the giant did crush her, she just didn't die quick enough. Cause as soon as she stabbed the eye. She was not died before getting crushed but as soon as he started falling. Lame ah ah reason. Besides thst everything is pretty on par . Stoll amazing to see all that undead action lol
There is a part of me that hopes he is taking so long because he has secretly been writing A Dream of Spring and then will release both in quick succession
I've seen a few people mention this hope. George has said he's not writing them simultaneously, but then he hasn't always been transparent with us after failing to deliver Winds as promised.
Dan and Dave. More like Dumb and Dumber.
It is wild to think that the cannon ending to the greatest epic fantasy of all times will be HBOs season 8 😂😂😂. RIP
Yeah, if that wasn't motivation enough for Martin to finish the story and put D&D to shame, thne nothing will be.
Always listen to Caraxes one of my favorite dragons as I'll always luv Drogon,Visarion an Rhaegarl were the first ice an Fire dragons i saw an fell in luv with seeing them born an grow i luv them in the book's the closeness between danny an her baby's when she talks to them ❤
Wrote 5/7ths of the best series out there, and then left us blue balls. Who's the biggest villain, Roose Bolton, Euron Greyjoy, or George Himself.
Benioff and Weiss are both jewish by the way.
Considering the nature of the thousand islanders I have no doubt that the shrykes might be some sort of mutants
this show really insults my intelligence
The Dothraki hate witches and any kind of witch craft and should’ve immediately started freaking out and throwing their weapons to the ground when Melisandre lit them on fire…that sh*t irked me. Lol
You have clearly never written a book which is fair, but also don’t understand writing a book. If he hasn’t finished the book, but has 1100 pages or whatever it doesn’t mean it’s in order. Hell, he may not even have an opening chapter. Or know what the ending is and maybe he has to fix the beginning to make the new ending he has written correct which then requires rewriting the middle. Yeah it’s taken forever, but I respect that he isn’t just releasing it. Maybe the perfect ending or whatever hasn’t come to him yet and it’s great he isn’t settling.
Christ. Just get a fucking ghostwriter and be done with it. GRRM's great, but he's not, like, Faulkner. There are writers who could do a perfectly adequate job with a detailed outline. Enough, already.
The man liked building things up then throwing it on the floor stomping on it and saying it didn’t matter. He did it so many times in the series. But when the tv series finished faster than the books he was destroyed by his own cleverness. No one liked the ending. It didn’t end heroically, it ended with everyone spitting in the face of fans who made the project successful. This left Martin in a quandry. His big twist is revealed and it failed. The only solution was for him to go full Tolkein Romance in which Snow and Daenerys were truly heroes. But his own pride can’t do that, it is admitting failure that he couldn’t outmaneuver Tolkein and prove Fantasy could be written without a moral. Now he just won’t finish rather than face the truth.
Seems like content creators in the ASOIAF Fandom are going to have to find a new schtick pretty soon. Idk how many times I've seen the same lukewarm take on the same sound byte since he made over a month ago.
I had never seen Game of Thrones but then binge watched it in December. Maybe it's because I never read about all the disappointment, but I liked every season - including the ending - and never had a negative thought about it. Then I started seeing all the negative comments all over the internet. I still think the ending was fine and don't think it desrves all the negative comments - although I can respect everyone's point-of-view. About another show, I loved Killing Eve - until the last couple seasons, which were awful, terrible and really bad. So I can relate to feeling disappointed about the ending of Game of Thrones.
I'm still angry I have years later re watched the show I just ended it after battle of the bastards. I really hope they finish the show sometime. That's the fiction I live in now.
While there were flaws in Seasons 5 and 6, I think that if you cut off the show at the point where Jon becomes king, Cersei queen and Dany is sailing for Westeros, you could still build a great ending. It's in 7 and 8 that it all fell apart.
Fascism has kept this bum from writing this book.
I don't know what I hate more, this or the fact we didn't see how the lannisters managed to take highgarden, an almost impenetrable castle which also can supposedly muster the largest force in westeros
Season 7 was so rushed, and ridiculous too. In one short sequence we see Dany's forces take Casterly Rock and then Highgarden falling.
Damn I just realized that this episode is worst than i imagined
This episode ages like milk.
I’m actually not mad, just sad, disappointed and heartbroken they ruined this series. I grew up with it from high school up to my first days working in my first job. And they ruined it. FINISH THE DAMN BOOKS GEORGE!
He'd rather write novels on social media about how much he hates Trump.
