More to the story…. More research that she loaned a nobleman a bunch of cash who came at her and could never prove she did the things- confined to the castle, not a cellar
If you think this is "the most depraved in history" your measuring stick is broken. Bathory? Dahmer?
Europe and the world should never forget this Communist atrocity and see the same ideas of Marxism alive in the world today. A destruction of family, life long marriage, abortion, euthanasia. A correction should say "of the House of Romanov"...not "House Romanov". Speak English properly!
I think we need to be cautious about viewing history through the lens of modern culture. Historically women only had the power that men gave them. They had to play very astute games of sex and politics simply to secure a place for themselves. Noblewomen married for position, not love. While the public may have viewed them as rivals, seems to me the reality was more akin to 'sister-wives' -- Diane was already a fixture in Henry's life when 15 year old Catherine arrived, and they both lived under the same roof together for 30+ years. They certainly understood each other and had enough begrudging respect for each other to work together when necessary. Catherine's position as Queen was only secure as long as she could produce an heir to the throne. Diane helped her with that, as well as with navigating court politics. In return, Catherine let Diane retire to the country with her wealth and status intact. Given the Medici reputation, I would say that's downright friendly.
I never understood why WWI started over some random Duke being shot. But these videos and this channel are helping to fill in the pieces. Btw, absolutely atrocious to sleep around and then render an innocent person infertile. This guy was grotesque.

What a horrible narrative. Casanova was a product of the era he lived in. Absolutely fascinating. Try listening to the Cumberbatch audio book.
i don't think she had a bad outcome. she got it all and she didn't have to bother with henry Viii's temper and appetite. i'd call that a score
What was her "smell"? Where in central Europe is/was Cleves?
wasn't anne of cleves the best treated? she was given a pension, was close to elizabeth and was like a "sister" to henry
I'm not a fan of royalty or monarchy, but what happened to the Romanovs was barbaric. They could have been exiled. I suppose in some sort of twisted logic they could justify executing the parents, since they had some choice in how they were running the country and how they were treating their citizens, but children do not choose their biological parents, not to mention that they were children and not in positions of power. From what I know of Nicholas based on some documentaries I've watched, he wasn't really evil or cruel by nature, but he was a largely incompetent leader. Alexei may have been spoiled due to his medical condition, but the girls were required to do volunteer work with the sick and poor so that they would see how the "common" people lived.
Henry was a puppet with no say
I believe his accusations of her shortcomings was probably an exact copy of comments she herself had made about the ugly, fat and stinky stranger who imposed his company upon her unbeknownst to her. Rock on Anne! It saved your life most likely. Not to mention he kept her around... forever. Truth always comes out😂😊.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you!
Trump is his reincarnation.
Jake paul is gonna age like him
catfishing even back then.....LOL
Probably because she was not a virgin anymore, they disposed of them like toilet tissue. She had a brain and he was threatened by her and she was probably tired of his ugly f****** ass, that pissed him off
Boudicca ans her army were soundly destroyed by the Romans. Both of Artimisia's naval battles were defeats. Not sure how either of those two 'conquered' the ancient world.
Awsome girl I'm subscribing!!
The movie clips they’re showing throughout this video, who plays Diane, she looks very familiar?
Imagine the meltdown the narrator would have if he knew what they get up to on p*rn h*b 😂
This was so sad 😢 On a totally human level it was more likely his atrocious childhood that caused this tragedy
Ppl respond to their needs ie food, shelter and their ability to survive. When that is not secure they will not use self actualization analytical thinking.
When I visited Russia in 2004. I toured the castles of the romanovs. The extravagance was astounding. The summer castle has floors, walls and ceilings done by artisans, each different , none were same nor similar. The ppl were starving and tired of war were they were not winning but fodder. After seeing this and touring the heritage museum w it’s so many treasures I could see why there was a revolution. Revolutionists are ruthless as it was in France. The queen becomes the scape goat both Alexandria and Marie Antionette.
I had heard Rudolph asked several lovers to join him in a suicide pact, and Mary was the first to say yes. Rudolph’s brain could have been affected by the syphilis and he was already depressed. There is much we will never know.
What kind of stupid narration is this? The Pope was not a “Catholic monarch”!!
While De Sade was not a warm and fuzzy guy and was certainly a sexual deviant, "the most depraved" is wildly inaccurate. Most of that characterization comes from what he WROTE in prison. Yes it was reprehensible and repulsive but imagine if the writer or director of "The Hills Have Eyes" or "THe Devil's Rejects" or "I Spit on your Grave" or a Thousand other dreadful 'stories'. Imagine if we considered the writers or directors of those and many other movies to be criminal sexual devients because of what they wrote. It must take a very sick and preverted mind to conjure up those movies right? This is in essence what happened to DeSade. I am not condoning his deviant behavior but much of the lore of DeSade is based on fiction, sick fiction sure, but fiction just the same. What he did do is, for the most part, practiced by many S&M fans. Now I don't find that lifestyle attractive the point that I'm trying to make is that while DeSade was definitely a sexual deviant he was not even close to the most depraved man in history. There are many examples of much much more horrible monsters than he. If you want an example, look up Gille De Rais, He liked to rape and kill children, Hundreds of them. DeSade was a deviant sure, the most depraved? Not even close.
👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What they fail to mention here - the fertility issues wasn't Catherine's but Henry's. Due to inbreeding, he had a penile issue that made it difficult for - -ahem- 'aim'.
Henry wasn't all that good looking himself he was a treacherous snake
Yes a Chateaux!😂
Spoken like a true chauvinist. A fat, ugly, lecherous, diseased psychopath. Most of the women Henry slept with were inoculated with the french disease (Syphilis) by him. He died from the pox too, though most royal historians would dispute this.
I've always thought the painting was not actually Anne but a servant or family member because the mother didn't want the marriage to happen and tried multiple things to stop it. What ruined this attempt was the King in disguise getting a look at the true her before the official meeting and I think this is one of the big reasons why he was mad and called her ugly to the official meeting. Mad because he learned of the deception and blamed the painter. Anne and the King like to talk about historical events and the place in history he would be placed and to stroke his ego about how beloved he is and will be.
Describing how the M@$ones threw bodies and desecrated remains is so vile and accursed. They are still doing this type of 💩. Look at the world today.
Thumb nail looks a little like Geoffrey Rush
I have seldom seen good looking portraits of people from this era. At least by today's standards. Possibly that was due to all the royal inbreeding.
They replaced an unfeeling and bad government, with a more unfeeling and worse government.
You gotta actually wonder, reading through the comments and this video about how astute she was, how he valued her as an advisor... did she orchestrate the whole thing? It's highly possible that she saw him and didn't particularly care for him, least of all in that way, and suggested a divorce herself so as to not tie herself to this man for the rest of her life. Of course, his potential impotence would play a factor, and the fact that if he was, she was unlikely to have children even though she herself was young. Naturally this would be the best outcome for him also as he was then free to find a different wife without the issues of the power of her family. His pride at stake, there's no chance he would accept her divorcing him and if he wanted to divorce her, without offending the family and without having officially at least sullied her purity, he would need a reason as to why he hadn't yet consumated the marriage, naturally it would need to be his decision, as a woman couldn't be seen demanding a divorce from the king. His "She's not pretty like her picture" is the weakest possible excuse for a divorce, but just strong enough to apparently hold up in court as long as it wasn't contested. Yet he trusted her advice? As a friend? Considering Englands' treatment of women back then (especially when going up the ranks of nobility), he must have had some sort of proof that her advice was worth listening to. If it had been her advice about the divorce and how to gain it without causing offence, it would certainly explain both his gratitude and generosity, and his eagerness to keep her in his life after the divorce. For Anne of course, this would be the best possible outcome as well. She got to survive, she got generously compensated, she got to remain in good graces with the royal family, and as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no one would ever be able to say she had any character flaws that had caused her to lose her husband, just that he personally hadn't cared for her looks which any potential suitors had she chosen to take one would easily be able to decide for themselves.
Boy, judging by the title I was affraid to deal with some BS from some woke historians who see now transgender people everywhere in History 😂
How dare Henry behave like an absolute monarch. Someone invent a time machine and we can nip back and tell him off.
😂Walt, he attempts to "woo" her by pretending to be someone else, and when Anne of Cleves, a woman who was engage, thwarted his advances and he was hurt by this??? 😅😅😅 Henry VIII was a man-child of ludicrous proportions
I could have told Einstein what his address was. For a while he lived in my great-grandfathers house in Zurich :-)
Sounds like a catfish
0:35 why show Hohenschwangau in Bavaria? It was completed in the 1830’s and Ann of Cleves loved in the 1500’s. 🤷🏼♂️
Her real name was Mary Freiin von Vetsera,,,Mary Baroness von Vetsera as her father was a Freiherr(Baron)...

Well, this was crap
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Truly Leonidas was a brave and courageous King and Warrior. Standing and fighting against incredible odds. Leonidas never waived trying to fight off the Persian horde. 💪👃✨
