Hang in…. History has heavily skewed reality here; she is painted as the vain, conniving woman-but wasn’t it due to the men chasing her affections? No, it’s always the ‘Temptress’. So she bathed and took care of herself instead of being smelly like everyone else? Outrageous! The Mother in Law didn’t like her? What novelty.

Always and still we have a double standard. Nothing really changes..

Where to start? 1. They didn't bathe like we do and didn't have deodorant but they did cleanse themselves daily. It's commonly known as a whore bath.
      2. Yes they wanted virgins so that paternity would not be a question. It's only been the last 30yrs that we have had decent DNA testing. DNA wasn't even in their wheelhouse.
      2. Yes they wanted young girls because they were considered to be strong and healthy. They also had a life expectancy of about 50, with female mortality being a bit lower due to complications from childbirth.
You can't judge the past through the morals and customs of the vastly different present.

Beauty is a two edged sword. You are not loved for your personality, but simply that your physical attributes arouse some man’s lust and obsession and they want possession. Often once they get it, they eventually get bored or once your looks start to age, find new meat to amuse themselves. We Women need to remember that an Gracious Heart is the true Beauty that defies age. ❤

AI used plenty of pictures of different persons maybe called Barbara or just had the tag „queen“ from different centuries. Even persons with wigs from the 18s century, costumes all over the place. Fotos! Ridiculous.

Men in those times saw women even their beloved ones as servants or almost I'm not surprised I had studied the the 1500 s history and way of living and almost all men without exception expected their women to be submissive and humble and there were some who were gentle and liked to please their wives but those were very few believe me maybe Barbara s first husband was like that but those times were hard for everybody especially for women they had almost no rights

@TheLadybughug that is the point for many of us. If using history is the theme, they can proof read what their ai program produced, for those of us who have spent time learning. Why pretend it is factual if you're just combining conflicting folklore with miscellaneous pictures of women. (We history nerds are so disappointed when "new" facts are just clickbait.

Interesting, I didn’t know anything about this story, it’s certainly dramatic. It reminded me at first superficially of the story of Sissi, Empress Elizabeth of Austria. What wasn’t clear was why the Polish nobility was so opposed to the match, was it because of Barbara’s inferior rank or that a foreign princess would have been a more shrewd political match?
