I went to Empire for a year around 2017. Back then groups seemed pretty insular and kit quality was pretty stricked. Has that changed much in the last 8 or so years?

I just went to my first summer larp, and it was brutal, 100°f heat index with over 60% humidity. I was wearing the thinnest gear I had and loose breathable fits, but it just didnt help even in the shade. Drinking a lot of water, and occasionally dousing myself helped a lot, but I think I really need to just get summer specific gear. Finding more specific larp clothes for men has been a struggle though. This video is a godsend though, thank you for putting it out!

Question. My friend, my son and I are completely fresh into larping. We're doing all of the research into history, costumes, armor, and character creation. When it comes to character creation, my friend wants to be a fighter, my son a barbarian, and myself a ranger. I'm curious about the antihero aspect of my ranger character. Whereas my friends fighter character has tons of energy and would likely be the face of our group, my character wants to stay in the dark corner and observe the surroundings, listening to the interactions, keeping curious if we can trust our sources or not. Not necessarily being as involved as the others. Would this character be one that ruins the fun for everyone? I'd like to avoid this antihero stigma that others seem to not enjoy. What advice could you give to make this character more pleasant? My true (non-character) personality is always outgoing and ready to make friends. But with this character, I'd like to take a step back and be more of an observer and one who only trusts his closest of friends.

Love and agree with everything in this video. I actually found you because I was trying to find out who LuckyFrogShop is. They blocked me within seconds for feeling insulted by them basically saying aesthetic is evil and disgusting. :( So I'm really glad I found a video like yours to show they're not all bad, as well as an insight on what takeaways someone can actually take. ive heard the term 'missing stairs' (or at least thats what it sounds like) and a couple of LARP videos now, but i'm unclear, as to what it means??

I love ren faires and dressing up, so when I started seeing ball content I got so excited! But I live in a super rural secluded area, and I don’t have many friends who are into the same thing. How do you find one in your area? I’ve been trying to use google, Reddit, ig and insta without much luck 😢 haha I wish balls were all over my feed but I’ve only found some in the UK and one in Texas

So I like it when my larps previous rules were in place. Each year they do a rules trials and they usually tweek a few things but for some reason this rules trial, which has just start, has just knocked the wind out of it for me. My problem is I'm not sure what id enjoy instead? Anyway thanks for the video! Maybe I've grown out of it.

I love nighttime at Empire. I love the Marcher camp so much, it really feels like a home from home. So much so, I find myself not wanting to spend time anywhere else. Every time I tell myself I'll go and spend more time in the other nations, but every time I just stand in the Marcher camp and think "I'll just stay here" 😂

I haven't been to lorien trust since 2012 Because My family stopped cooking for the staff It was get difficult for us I do plan on returning at some point

The moving part also depends on your training, if you are very comfortable and pay attention then it is absolutly possible to move and even shoot whilst running (I've done it, even running in weird patterns and such, but I have practiced it). Though practice and attention is needed. Also it depends on your daily environment. If you come from a city and you are not used to rough terrain like a forrest or such, that means any movement and especially movement with arrows and bows should be avoided until you are absolutly comfortable with it. Know your own experience and limits is always important when trying to avoid injuries.

I can see this, at some points of the night I wondered if it was even worth it. Then the fighting happened and I remember what I was there for. Fake Glory lol

I worn my favourite outfit on the Saturday but then my "spare" basics on Friday and Sunday. Accessories help alot make an outfit more interesting, like necklaces and bracelets, they dont have to be expensive.
