Tough Save, Looks Easy. Carter George Team Canada
Переглядів 6627 місяців тому
Although he's listed at 6'0" (not 6'6") he makes this really good one time shot to the top corner look routine, because he is not trying to catch it. He is relying on lateal movement, angle, and upright body position. Grease job by a young goalie!

I am just a simple amateur, but the toe attachment is crazy, how do you RVH? And the bungee pulls the toes up which ruins your knees and hips. I like the 5hole explanation, however, removing the protection is pretty risky. There is a reason why the designer put it there. Basically all designers...but, if you wanna get shot to a not protected hamstring from inside you are braver than I thougt. I am 186cm using 25inch stick, way better than bigger.
And another, bungees are so wrong, there is no space for the post, you have to have space between pads and skate for correct RVH. It looks like more ccm adv than and guide. And with laces you have to extra too short, because your toes will be pulled up when you go butterfly. The knot must be at the end of the pad, not just an inch from pads. Plus, two minutes penalty for not complete equipment, missing hockey socks.
Why would I put first pants, than knees and then skates. I puck suspensor, skates, knees, then pants followed by pads. Way more comfortable
lol my left side in my sick side, me special
could you explain please, which model has most straight fingers while closing?
I came here looking for pad strapping tips, but the CCM pant/chest buckle tip is mind blowing! I had no idea!
My old glove was broken in when I got it and now I just got a new (pre-owned) one and it isnt broken in at all. Not making any glove saves and can barely close it. This video was very helpful for fixing that issue
Thank u this is exactly what I was looking for
This is awesome!
HELLO HOCKEY PEEPS!!!!!! LIFETIME GOALTENDER COACHED N WORKED WITH TONS OF YOUTH GOALIES ....... ALWAYS TOOK THE TIME TO EMPHASIZE FORM , HAND POSITIONING. EVEN SLOWING IT RIGHT DOWN 2 A CRAWL ...... STEP BY STEP FORM B4 SPEED. SLOW IZZ SMOOTH SMOOTH IZZ FAST. SPEED WILL COME. KIDDOZ GET IN2 SUCH A HURRIED RUSH 2 GET DOWN N BACK UP IT TURNS IN2 AN UNCONTROLLED FLOPPING N THEN NOTHINGZ GETTING ACCOMPLISHED ....... OR STOPPED!!!!!!! GOOD WORK KEEP ON SAVING!!!!!!!!
Kid's pretty good haha
I Stuff Glove w Puckz Really Pack'it ........ strech pocket right out wrap it shut w Hockey tape ......... soak in Hot Bath over Night ........... Repeat azz Needed 👍
Any feedback on why you break-in the material in the T as referenced around 02:40? I've always felt there was a puck-stopping advantage to having that area stiffer
You're not wrong. However most youth goalies just need to soften things up at all costs. AND on True or CCM 600 breaks, focusing on that spot seems to help. Certain gloves it's not necessary
Such a great reminder to stay Square
Thank you so much for this
Thanks for the info. I'm watching hundreds of hours of goalie training videos. First year coach, never played goalie on ice, I got a 10u goalie in the house. I'm training myself to train our goalie. Thank you for the video.
This is awesome. Can a 40 year old beer leaguer stop in for a lesson?
Great vid Rob, was doing this today working one on one with a new goalie on a new team. I picked up a few things. Thanks
For tucked in you have to wear suspenders. The inner belts, no matter if ccm, vaughn, warrior..., is always fighting against the chestie movement
Should you tighten the inner belt though?
@@Big-gp9bi yes. Because the innerbelt has always "holders" on the pants. Thats the point where the chestie cant move. First turn eyes, body follows, then the hips. But when my body moves, the chestie stucks on these "innerbelt holders".
@@MrX-fj9cl ok so tighten the main large inner belt but not the smaller ones?
AND IT SUCKs BAD 2 CATCH A STINGER 2 ANYTHING EXPOSED ...... ONNA' CROSS CREASE TRANSITION SAY 4 EXAMPLE ........ CHESTIE LAGGING BEHIND ........ HAVE HAD MID RIBCAGE FRICKIN' STINGERz ......... NOT TERRIBLE , BUT STILL
My new 580 CCM XF glove closes awesome. No circle shape opening. They definitely fixed them.
What would be cool is to see a plaque on the wall between those two big pictures holding Jaxsons Puck for when he scored a goal and a shutout to make history against the Wolves.
I'm gonna throw this into practices when I got someone taking shots on me
Welcome to LA Carter! Thx for this great little breakdown.
So sad to see the Blackhawks didn't step up and keep you, especially after the history making goalie goal and shutout against the wolves. I hope you were able to get the puck on the plaque I gave you and show it off. At least I appreciate all you did last season!
That’s how I did it! Real great video no one else explains it
Hello I got axis 2. Inner strap it’s too short and tighten leg too much. So I use only two outer straps. Is any solution for that?
Which knee pads do you wear?
@@StaubersGoalcrease rxs large
@@AfganistanBaby22If you try something a little more slim, it might solve the issue. Those knee pads are more girthy than some. Otherwise you probably need to have a shoe repair guy sew on some longer elastic
Opinion on upper pillow Velcro tabs to tie into knee pads?
How long do we put the glove into the oven?
Great video! Glad to see someone else using clamps. I also wrap an electric heating pad around glove to help heat it for break in.
By far, one of the best videos out there on the 5 hole coverage. Love how you showed us what exactly is happening behind the knees and legs. THAT is what I wanted to see. Gotta see what's going on back there, and no video has done that except yours! Bravo!!
How should I fix my Bauer m5 pro int it? It has the pinching in the middle and the palm on the finger side is bulging out
When I heated my glove on low temperature it burned after 1 minute (Bauer m5 pro) should I use shower heat and steam instead
Not a fan of the taps. Its easy to know where you are in the net if soend time there. I did the taps as a kid before the butterfly was a thing. Now that things have changed i feel youre wasting time reaching over even if it is just a foot. Take that time to position yourself. If they are coming in from the boards (at my rink) and they get to the blue line at the board, your right foot should be at or just over the point of your crease. If they are at the left blue line at the boards your left foot is at or just over the point of the crease. If they are coming in center ice, you should know where center of the crease is because youve been standing there. Take that extra time to get out in front and start making your adjustments. No sense coming out a second or 2 late because you're tapping a post you already know is there.
Bought a used glove for a practice glove off sideline a ultrasonic with terrible closure, how could i fix this
I just got an eflex 5.9. I've been storing it open with a object, storing it closed with object. Baking it, clamping it, working it out for days. How long does it take to break in?
I have one two is your can I can’t get it to budge
Axis 2 gloves are the worst gloves ever. Can break it in for a year and it’ll still be frustrating to open and close
Mines been great after 2 weeks
if you have a gym membership, water it and go to the sauna. it'll be butter. if not $10 will is all it takes in a skate oven.
Push the player and stick out of way
No surprise he can score goals too 👀👀
This is just what i need. I’m 50 and feel like I forgot how to goalie after a hip injury and arthritis in the hip setting in. I’m flopping all over the place when sliding. I need to go all the way back to the basics and try and retrain my hip and keep my torso up.
Always wear a glove for protection - "That's what she said"
Why the pegs so damn short
Minnesota thing I think
Uh, where was this video in 1995 when I needed it?
Stack those pads!
I am very thankful for your video as my son has the exact same junior CCM glove you showed and had the exact same problem (bought it second hand and was like that). I thought his hand was simply not big or strong enough to close the glove, but realized there was an issue when he took MY senior glove and was able to close and open it with no problem. I put his glove in the oven @150F for 10 min, put a stick in it like you did and put it in the freezer for the night. It looks way better this morning and will be able to tell if the problem is resolved tonight after his game. Thanks again!
Do you remember if this ended up fixing the issue?
@@buhboni7324 well, while I personnaly think his glove was very soft and easy to close and open, he could not do it. At some point, it may be a hand size/strength issue
I have a Bauer 3x glove this works great, but how can you fix finger curl?
Cool
The most helpful video I've seen on breaking in gloves. Thanks!
Agreed
looks so cheap literally worst gloves on the market
bauer 10 times worse
@@egorkayan5031oh yeah? that’s why bauer is right behind true in popularity despite being more expensive than ccm? And ccm had 60% of the nhl goalies 6 years ago, now it’s 5 goalies💀
I’m a 65 year old goalie being doing that for years but I don’t c younger players who do that
Great video. I'm going to be sharing these break-in videos with my goalies. So, so many sessions of parents saying "Yeah. I'd like you to work on their glove, they're having trouble catching pucks." Then I get on the ice and the glove is essentially a mail slot for pucks, zero break-in.
First!! Thanks!!! Bauer's also seem to get mushy palms. Ccm's seem to have issues breaking in, and restiffen, or something. Thanks so, so much. I've bought and sold 10? Cause my son is picky. I wonder how much time/energy I could have saved. His 2x int I did fix, it was worlds better. But, uh, it took me, forever. I can't believe a softball does anything in some gloves, as the pockets are huge. I'll try it again. I have also used a recorder shaft (at least good for something! Haha) as a mini stick. Also, parents, buying used stuff is a time saver, just sanitize or ozone it, gets rid of some of smells. No break-in. Saves $.
