I'm a 35 year old guy just starting playing goalie and this video is maybe the most useful and informative one I've found so far in how to get the butterfly slide down. Thanks!
Great video. I have an 8 year old too. He’s athletic and has good instincts but these technical videos are very helpful
Got my first varsity start tomorrow thanks to Goalcrease. Thanks!!
The perfect song to make a video for goalies from from being a mite to the pro's...
Help, I need somebody
Help, not just anybody
Help, you know I need someone, help
When I was younger, so much younger than today
I never needed anybody's help in any way
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me, get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me
And now my life has changed in oh so many ways
My independence seems to vanish in the haze
But every now and then I feel so insecure
I know that I just need you like I've never done before
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me, get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me
When I was younger, so much younger than today
I never needed anybody's help in any way
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me, get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh
Great video.
Do u have butterfly video for beginners
I’m 31 and just started playing hockey/goal. I can’t do this at all and it’s frustrating
If you’re a youth goalie or a parent with one, PLEASE READ THIS..
I was a youth goalie, for years. I started out strong, was good, best around in my age group. When going from age 14 to 15 i got a new coach, one who thought HE knew best how goalies should play. He forced me to start staying upright more, and told me not to drop down unless i HAD to. It completely ruined my game, i never played high-school hockey, and i was never good again because i wasnt playing naturally.. Please, PLEASE if you see a coach making a kid change his style because he thinks he knows best, please stop it IMMEDIATELY. It killed me that i never got to have fun playing goalie again, and never moved on.. Note: This only goes for kids who have been playing the position for years and developed their own style. If they’re a brand new goalie, never played, then a bit of direction is good. But more than anything, the direction SHOULD be, “do whatever comes naturally to stop the puck” cause its different for every kid.
Please learn from my mistake of letting that coach ruin hockey for me...
Thanks for this! Would love to see more tutorials for beginners from you guys :) Some suggestions maybe some camera angles from the back of the goalie and a wireless mic so we can hear you clearly as the audio has some echo.
Thank you very much for this! I’m 41 and just decided to relearn goaltending after playing the late-1990s style for 20 years. Mechanically I’m probably about where the little kid in this video is so it’s nice to know where to start focusing on.
Came here because I've always played D. We needed a goalie a few months ago in beer league and took the net. Didn't set the world on fire, but I'm accruing equipment and want to get into it.
I stacked the pads successfully in the game, but I'd prefer to not do that again.
This is super informative and young goalies should take note. Hope you're well Jeff! PS. Great looking set there, too.
Really like that warm-up exercise with the leg kick, I've never seen that before. Great video
Just got out on the ice for the first time in 7 months.
For some reason I was able to do this now. Idk how but it was stoked!
Got a lot to work on but the fact o can slide to both sides and recover I’m super pumped about it.
I’ll try the one knee balance thing next time i get out there
This is just what i need. I’m 50 and feel like I forgot how to goalie after a hip injury and arthritis in the hip setting in. I’m flopping all over the place when sliding. I need to go all the way back to the basics and try and retrain my hip and keep my torso up.
Hello u .. i have injury in my knei and i hav problem in left side tu du i try but my body sey No .. you now samsing ?
Something I struggle with.
